Can you blame them for not getting "fired up" for a series against the pushing 100 losses Royals?? Yes I can blame them. The Indians did what a superior team does against an inferior team, brush the crap Royals away like a fly on a sweater. Game two was close, but the Tribe never was in danger. The Sox, meanwhile, lost one game at home to KC and two at KC before about 25 fans total in the stands. This in the midst of all Soxdom lamenting one of the biggest choke jobs in history. Yes I expected the Sox to win all those games. They were very very important. The Sox knew full well Cleveland was (is) on fire, so yes I see the losses to KC; compared with Cleveland's massacre of KC as discouraging.

Amen tony. Just saw on ESPN sports center the Sox are 90-58. That is simply amazing a team with that kind of record could ultimately be considered one of the biggest choke teams in history if not the biggest. It just goes to show what a wild sport baseball really is. 90-58 and we are close to being laughingstocks. GO SOX, BEAT CLEVE!

Everett was a vital cog early when we were cruising to wins every night. Remember some pundits thought it was a shame Frank was returning when he did if it would take any at bats from Everett. He's sucked of late. I've never really been a fan of the guy, but if he can help us hold off the assholes then he'll be one of my favorites. Everett needs to kick ass this series somehow. I wish the guys would just stroke the baseball vs. Cleveland's good pitching and not try to jack 'em all out.

We do deserve the mocking we'll get. The players deserve blame as does KW for not making a deal or 2. At the time I agreed with KW to not break up the team at all. My applause to you guys and/or girls on here who wanted us to make a deal before the deadline. How did you know it's what we needed? Great Greg Couch column on Sun Times website. I think he says it all in there. I liked this line: This team is based entirely on starting pitching. Nothing more. And the starting pitchers aren't doing it anymore. Buehrle has lost it. Jon Garland has lost it. Freddy Garcia has lost it so bad that Guillen asked him if he was hurt. I think he's right; he captured how I've been looking at the calendar watching the days pass and our lead drop.

How can anyone not feel good about a 17 game season and being given a 4.5 game head start, and playing your closest competitor 6 times? I love the optimism, but there are many reasons I don't feel good about the 17 game season and 4.5 game lead right now.
