Well that...
It's probably good we lose all 3 to the Twins lest our GM think we are ready to dominate next year without some changes. We need some tinkering though we've been great the last 30 games or so.

Dan Wright
14-12 doesn't sound so bad on paper, does it? Had Ritchie gone 14-12 would we have thought he did what we wanted him to do, give us innings? I am hoping Wright and Garland can be consistently good next year like Mark B, but that may be wishful thinking. I think Moyer is the answer to all our problems.

free agent list
We can't afford Clemens, Maddux or Glavine. How much will Moyer want? 8 mill? Our only hope is Moehler or Byrd and they could suck.

Has JM Figured It Out?
good point chick. i love your posts.

Do you guys Say One Pitcher Or Two
I wanna know why we are going to offer Todd arbitration. Let's cut our losses. Let Todd go!

How can they invoke the diminished skills clause?
I give Frank credit for putting up some moderately decent numbers. He had a nice last five weeks or so. It'd be OK to keep him as our DH except for the money and it ain't our money it's Reinsdork's.

Has JM Figured It Out?
How come some of our starters can only go 5 inns? Thank goodness our middle relief has been good of late.

Guarenteed a .500 record today
I'm glad we finished .500. It seems like we were a worse team than a .500 team. What a bizarre season though. After two weeks I thought we were gonna have an incredible season, then we sucked up until the point we brought up Crede. For some sick reason that disappointing loss to the Yankees helped cause our quick and lengthy demise. That is Manuel's fault. We need to find a way to better react to crushing losses in the future. That Yankee implosing was one fricking game and our team acted like it was 10 losses in one! Cmon Manuel ... do a better job next year!!

We all know about Pitching, but what else
Good point by Mathew, Harris hasn't dont anything yet. And he showed lack of character in my mind by not coming to the aid of the Royals' coach when attacked by those two morons. I may be out of line on that, I am not in Chicago and haven't read Harris' explanation, but it to me looked like he looked right at the poor coach and didn't step in and be a hero and stop those two morons from pummeling the poor 54 year old coach.

Do you guys Say One Pitcher Or Two
I''d say two, but one who is willing to go to middle relief if Garland and Wright start the season off powerfully. We can't afford to have Garland and Wright suck in April and May if we are gonna win the division. We know we ain't gonna win any wildcard.

Crede article
Congrats again to all of you who told me Crede was gonna be OK when he started 2-for-24. He has been awesome. We need to lock him up and not trade him!
-
What's it gonna take?
Two starters would probably be a good idea. They both can't flame out, right?
-
mags closin in on 40
You gotta love em both! Who says we sox fans are only negative? Way to go Maggs n Paul

We all know about Pitching, but what else
I agree moving Jimenez all over could mess him up badly. It may have messed up Jose. I wouldn't mind dealing Jose if we're sure Harris can hit .280 and steal 50 bases

What can we do next yr
Seriously if they are gonna lose some players we better be the ones to pick some up. They got some good talent. We could use Guzman, Jacque J, etc. I still think the Twins will beat us out next year unless they have the overhaul you suggest.

We all know about Pitching, but what else
I think our everyday lineup is pretty good. We need pitching. I think Jose V should start at ss and Jimenez at second. Keep Harris around. If Jose V sucks early, let Harris and Jimenez be our 2b and ss respectively. Moving Jimenez around, however, might mess with his psyche. If Harris had shown a little more, I'd say go with the two young guys and trade Jose V. But Jose V probably should stay now for his leadership and the fact he's pretty reliable.

Thomas Tied Fisk
Congrats to Big Hurt on a nice last five weeks or so. He's closing in on 30 homers in an off year. It's hard to hate the Big Hurt even though he sucked when we needed him early. Hopefully he'll have a big year for us next year.

the twins are not lousy. Are they really gonna have an overhaul? That would be nice. We could use Jacque J., Guzman and others.

SN Report: Ron Schueler Resigns
The problem is pitchers cost so much damn money. When are teams like the Red Sox, Mets, Rangers, whomever have overspent gonna realize you don't need to keep paying megabucks for flop players? Pitchers are way overpriced. Their arms can blow out anyday. Can you say Wilson Alvarez? Alex Fernandez? Why do these owners just throw away money?

What can we do next yr
We've got to win the division to make the playoffs. We ain't gonna be the wildcard. Too many teams better than us.
-
Jose Valentin
I've always stood by Jose V while ripping the dog, Royce. Jose V played short the year we won the division by 20 games. Since they moved him we've sucked. He hasn't complained much. I think we need some vets to go with the youngsters and he is one of em.

WHO TAKES THE FALL
good line about kw. don't fret. sometimes it's refreshing to start from fresh. All posts are new; that's ok by me.

PLEASE ANSWER THIS DUMB QUESTION, thx
QUESTIION: L:et's say in the land of make believe, the Twins also had sucked this year and we somehow won the division playing let's say five games over .500. My question is ... had the Twins sucked and had we won this division, would our CURRENT team have a chance to win it all because of the way we are playing? I say, possibly. We currently are getting great hitting from Maggs. Frank is actually knocking in runs and nearing 30 hrs. Paul is still looking good. Crede has been clutch. Rowand has been delightful in cf. Olivo looks good at c. Harris and Jimenez have some speed to make other teams take notice. Pitching wise, Mark B, Garland and Wright have been great of late, racking up wins. Our set up and closing has been good. And our defense is still pretty bad on paper, but has not been abysmal. throw in the fact our young guys might be so young they do not feel the pressure, would we have won it all? Remember how well Saberhagen pitched years ago when he was 21 years old in the postseason for the Royals? Or would our young talent simple freeze up and we'd have gotten swept in the first playoff series?? I am just wondering. We are awfully hot now and wondering what would happen if this team right now made the playoffs.

Schu resigns
I'd still rather have Schu than KW. I bet Schu realizes KW is a joke. If I wasn't so lazy, however, I'd make a list of all KW's deals. With some of these young guys looking pretty good, maybe he is learning by doing. We can only hope.

Rotation question
Buehrle someone KW calls a top pitcher Garland Ritchie WrightRauch. Great post. I say it's Mark B (what a talent; i love this guy) Parque (just kidding) I shall continue Mark B Garland (sure hope he continues on what he's done late in this season) New veteran who is not ultra expensive (byrd, bere , stottlemyre (yuK on todd) Wright Rauch I hope ritchie is gone forever or at least out of the starting five. We sure could use another lefty so we could go lefty, righty, righty, lefty, righty. Should be interesting. It'd be awesome if Rauch, Garland, Wright and Mark B developed and were awesome for years to come. They certainly have potential. What we should do is go out and hire the best pitching coach alive. Seriously. These guys all are ultra young and have talent. Who would'nt want to work with them.
