  1. All good broadcast teams and Chicago sports have had great ones for a long time, have periods of conversating. Most teams have complete homers who spend the whole game being cheerleaders and boring cheerleaders/ticket sellers at that. I realize our guys are homers too but traditionally they've also told it like it is. Hawk told it like it is; Stoney does; Jason is good leading in that direction. Farmer, rest his soul, and DJ also told it like it is and Kasper is respected as well. I think Sox fans could get used to Beckham's voice if that's the problem.
  2. What do they think is so bad about Beckham? Just his voice itself? Are all fan bases this grouchy all the time? Maybe.
  3. I like him. He loves baseball which we all do and he's into it. One problem is he pronounces a few words in an annoying manner but you can get used to it. I don't like Len's nasalness for instance and DJ can be kind of monotone. Give me Jason, Stoney and a side order of Bacon and I'm good.
  4. Home runs and bullpen are a perfect postseason formula for happiness. Jose baby, et. all. Eloy mania.
  5. I take it you are not a big picture kind of guy. Abreu arguably was the hitting star of the game.
  6. You foul that many pitches off, you get tired. I'll take his production tonight. Sox should have more than 5 runs with all these hits.
  7. I'm not a big manager ripper guy but if Tony ever does anything as stupid as Ricky did in the playoffs taking the starter out in the first inning ... then I'll rip Tony. It's comical how bad a move that was.
  8. If Collins had a hit every Sox would have a hit within 3-4 innings; wonder if that would be a record for earliest in a game everybody had a hit. Can I add that I love Mr. RBI, Jose Abreu?
  9. How can I take your post seriously when you say this about Hall of Famer LaRussa. The guy has done a masterful job amid all the injuries and actually is more baseball smart than any "expert" on this board. Yes he is. Substandard manager? Geez. Suffice it to say no manager in this day and age of analytics can survive scrutiny. I'd say in a significant percentage of losses in close games you can point to 3-4 second-guess instances involving the manager costing the team the game. LaRussa does a fine job with what's available to him. I can't take your long post seriously when you make a statement like that about a Hall of Famer/grade A manager.
  10. You have to admit some of the White Sox players who have been gracing the lineup the past many weeks are very very bad baseball hitters. Hard to survive injuries.
  11. Poor Sox are scuffling. This year can be called the year of the injury. Whatever the Sox do the rest of the way is gravy. Even Timmy has missed a few games of late, Grandal, the list goes on including all the early-season injuries and Madrigal before he left. ... I still say team has potential to get white-hot in postseason. We shall see. ... I'd love to go 6-0 vs. the Cubs too.
  12. I have a feeling we are gonna see a postseason star in Kopech. Save this prediction. Used properly in the 7th and or 8th if needed, he's going to dominate maybe (knock on wood to avoid possible jinx).
  13. Good luck figuring this team out. Anything can happen this postseason. Sox could play like they did in the Field of Dreams game and be the darlings of the postseason and win it all or they could pull a Minnesota and bow out right away like the Twins always do. It'd be nice to win it all since the team won't be taxed physically since it is running away with the division. Guys should be ready to roar in postseason. With the 7th, 8th and 9th locked down on paper, all it will take is 5-6 runs a game to roll.
  14. I hate posts like 'worst loss of the year' when the game is not over. Glad I'm not that kind of fan.
  15. Great win. Did u see Tim say something to Tony walking thru the handshake line? Leadership baby. TA obviously is Tony's guy and rightly so.
  16. Beckham bristles at Jason?
  17. Geez. That was not a good sequence for Tepera.
  18. Tim is so good it's really remarkable. That little segment on him says it all.
  19. Two run lead, nice. Sox pen won't blow that big a lead.
  20. Great baserunning. Love me some TA.
  21. Love me some Robert but hideous at bat vs. the shift and infield in. Puke.
  22. Good hitting; good baserunning by both guys.
