Thanks. I think it's good to hear kind words especially entering the era of the boosters. i'm more apt to not delay my booster when I read nice praise.

COVID Thread Part Deux
It seems like a month ago some people that I know who have been vaxxed and got Covid experienced very few problems. Minor illness, back to work in about 10 days whenever the quarantine period ended. ... Now it seems those vaxxed contracting covid are undergoing much more severe symptoms including the dreaded need for oxygen in hospital. What's going on? As a vaxxed person I don't like the fact vaxxed peeps are getting covid and getting it bad. ... I also don't like reports there was some contaminated third shot moderna in Israel or somewhere that caused major problems. I don't want contaminated vax perhaps causing major problems in my body. Finally ... crowds of over 100,000 fans in some stadiums for football. No masks at said games. ... Correct me if I'm wrong but I feel "many, most?" Americans think Covid will be here forevermore like the flu and basically don't give a s--t anymore. It's like, 'It's here. I'm vaxxed. If I get it I get it." Some peeps like me still really don't wanna get it. Seems silly that last year at this time we had no fans or 10 percent capacity and now covid is actually worse a year later and we're going with 100,000 fans. What.A.World.

A White Sox Winner
Nice win. Leury along with the above mentioned heroes. Nice glove by Jose. Enjoy winning a rare game in Oakland. Good to beat some good teams after angering me with so many losses to KC.

9/7 ? v. ? GT
Good to win in Oakland. Makes up for some of those losses to the putrid Royals. Nice win.

9/7 ? v. ? GT
Liam is gonna be fine in the playoffs, folks.

Jose baby! Leather.

9/7 ? v. ? GT
I've learned to like Leury. I hope he makes the postseason roster. I assume he's earned his MLB pension which is nice. It's not that easy to hit .260 in the big leagues and field OK, too.

9/5- White Sox at Royals, 1:10
I love the Sox and realize this season is the "year of the injury" on the Southside and Sox are doing fine, but it seems as if Sox have been mediocre to blah since the all star break. Since the break, are the Sox even .500? How are they on the road? The whole year I continue to be amazed it's not even a race. Not complaining but it's pretty annoying that Royals won the season series vs. the Sox (or I think they did) when KC is tanking. Now this simple fact can be blamed on Sox injuries, but it's still annoying to lose to those bums as much as the Sox have in a year KC is tanking. Heaven help the Sox in the playoffs. Maybe the team will win it all and I'll be ecstatic.

So what's the deal with the booster, the real facts? Do we look at our cards and sign up eight months after dose No. 2? When do we need it? This booster stuff is gonna be wild. I'm thinking a lot of people will have catching up to do since so many haven't taken doses 1 or 2.

AND THAT’S A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!
Robert, Abreu and Grandal socked 10 hits. My gosh. Jose regular batting average up to .267. Not bad in the HR/strikeout era. Nice win.

2021 College Football
Kansas won its first game in over a year on Friday, beat tiny South Dakota by a couple points. The students stormed the field but did not tear down the goal posts. Q: Embarrassing display or students having fun? Also do any of u midwesterners think Kansas will be accepted into the Big Ten at some point or no way? Peace out.

What's interesting about this point you make is, once the person gets covid, he/she will have a TON of medications they've never even heard of put in their body to try to keep them alive. And they'll gladly accept those medications for Covid relief. If it's a bad case of covid, think of all the medications you'll be taking! Either way a lot of unknown stuff will be cascading thru your body. That's another reason my brain deduced I would take the vaccine over not taking it. And I'll take the booster and the flu shot and the shingles shot .... I pray I'm OK and I won't be selfish and also pray for everybody else to be OK.

I love Rogan's show. I wish him speedy recovery from COVID. He is not a bad person, folks. His show has a kind vibe to it. He's one of those people who embrace life. I usually agree with his takes which is a positive, too for me.

I will say my mood fluctuates and after reading this (which I choose to believe is true) I truly pray everybody can avoid COVID. The symptoms of this disease are fricking unreal. Like I said earlier, I always have believed COVID is real, that's why I 'reluctantly' have chosen to obey all medical recommendations and have received 2 doses of moderna with a booster coming I guess. I'd give awards to all medical personnel who have treated severe covid patients. Breaks my heart all around. https://www.latimes.com/opinion/story/2021-08-26/pandemic-covid-19-stages-vaccination-intensive-care-respiratory-therapist?fbclid=IwAR2TNq5TezEJvK6budgTRIgArKrfeKd2UkaUR9IzzktWhW83_l_0vmw3pUE

The Brother Rice-Perspectives game has been called off tonight for some reason. I guess it's Rice's fault for not scheduling tougher teams. I assume Perspectives is no good and Rice would have pounded them. Just my perspective on the cancellation.

I enjoy your posts, making points without insulting anybody. ... I won't comment on the FDA as I haven't educated myself on that entity enough. Your second paragraph is compelling and makes me think. I think some of us who are afraid still fear the possibility of vaccine related problems down the line. I also have to get the flu and shingles shots so all that mixing and matching of vax in my body sort of troubles/scares me, too. Just giving my perspective. ..,. I guess we're all going to die someday anyway so I shouldn't stress as much as I may do.

COVID Thread Part Deux
This is an excellent post. It's not all cut and dried, though. There's somebody like me. I got both doses at my scheduled times with some fear but I made the decision to trust the people telling me I need to be vaxxed. For me that's not easy to do. I dont want to get political and can't get political on the board as it's not allowed, but I simply do not trust big pharm, I do not trust either political party (If you and I had a beer I could give you examples of BOTH SIDES making BLATANT LIES. Yes lies. Not stretching the truth. Lies not necessarily on covid but other issues as well). That said, the fact I believe COVID is real (I frankly don't want to lose sense of smell/taste) and I don't want to lose all capacity to breathe and die by suffocating from the fact I'm unable to breathe. Hence ... I, who am fully educated (h.s. and college degrees) have deduced that I need to trust enough to be vaccinated to hopefully avoid a horrendous death (and avoid infecting others and killing them). This would be a no brainer if I trusted those in charge which I do not. At the same time, the idea of a third shot, which is coming, scares me, annoys me, makes me again have trust issues with big pharm and politicians. My guess is I will get the booster the first day it's offered, but trust me, not everybody vaccine hesitant is a freaky nutjob. Some people do not trust as mentioned above and have reason to not trust. Should we just "shut up and be vaccinated?" Maybe but some of us are scared to be vaxxed. In my case the fear of covid symptoms outweighs my distrust hence the shot wins. Peace out.

Harry ... is this the year Rice wins it all? Seems like the QB is for real; the RB is for real. I'd assume the defense is lookin' good after the week one score. Seems like once again there will be a good run/pass balance unlike early Badke years. Is this the year, the final year of Badke, that BR reigns No. 1?

Sox fan shot and killed on Xpressway coming from game.
Nobody should ever be shot driving on an expressway. Nobody ever should have a brick thrown through their window while driving on an expressway. And nobody should ever have themselves carjacked. I wish ill, big-time ill, on anybody who perpetrates such crimes. NO EXCUSES. Make them pay with jail time. Lots of jail time. I may be selfish but I don't want permanent injuries/death caused by some criminal jerk.

9/1 game thread Sox vs Pirates 7:10 first pitch
I am an imperfect dope many times but I have no targets this season. Sox are 10 games up and that's all that matters. Who cares if certain players stink for periods of time? I feel sorry for folks who aren't enjoying the imperfection. This team has been decimated by injuries, folks. Anything they do is gravy.

Sheets cannot be moved. Sheets is another special talent IMO. Gonna have to make room for him in the future.

Great job by Kimbrel and Liam. Looks like the 8th inning and ninth inning guys are getting used to their roles and knock on wood will be lights out in playoffs/WS.
