  1. Holy cow. Is this really Bob Costas and Jim Kaat doing the game?
  2. Nice running catch. Time to wake up and play ball. Quit playing scared crap ball on the road. Thank u! !
  3. I will be very discouraged if the Sox fail to hit Friday for the second game in a row. It shouldn't be that difficult to score some runs in road games. If Sox lose Friday, it's over. Sox aren't coming back from two down in a five-game set against a good team. I guess it's 'possible' Sox could then win two in Chicago if our fans go crazy both games, but I just don't see Houston losing 3 in a row. Sox better hit Friday or yes they can be accused of Twins-type choking. Personally I think Sox bounce back and it'll then become a helluva series.
  4. People are wacky. I got the postgame show on Sirius radio somehow and some caller said because Lynn sucks versus Houston, Dallas Keuchel (sp?) should have started. And he was furious Moncada batted second. Moncada got on base twice. And Dallas for whatever reason couldn't strike out Fathom. Luckily Conner the host gave the caller a wake-up call and ripped his Keuchel suggestion. Geez.
  5. Good post. The game was long, and brutally boring. Typical game in lift and pull or K era. No reason that thing should have taken 3:45 or whatever it was. Baseball has a huge problem and nobody seems to care about pace of play. I guess the glorious home runs are the future of the game. ... I imagine the hardest thing in sports to do is to identify and blast a sinker or slider. Hitters get set up with the rare fastball and just can't make contact. It's pretty maddening. ... How bout the shift on Moncada. it seems almost a fineable offense to not plop down a half swing bunt to vacated left side of the infield, but players won't do it, so whatever. I'd think that would drive old school Tony crazy.
  6. I hear you on this point. On the other hand, if u do funky stuff, you get RickyR results in the postseason.
  7. Talking about next year is premature. Sox can tie the series tomorrow and win it all. ... As far as improvements to the roster? Geez, you don't want to trade the guys who made you so confident about the future in the first place. Look not all postseasons can be won with just one loss (2005). Sox either learned a lot today about how they have to scrap, claw, lift and pull and win, or they didn't and the offseason will be here. No need to panic on a team that figures to win this pathetic division for some years to come. Again, last year the Sox beat the A's in game one and got smoked. It's time the team sucks it up and some postseason heroes emerge.
  8. I'm now going to sit back at 8:15 and read this long thread. Haven't read a post yet. My take ... Parts that worry me: Anemic offense today. Team didn't explode offensively just cause the calendar spilled into October for playoff baseball. Speculation is the Astros' two starters are good at keeping the ball in the ballpark which would suggest another homerless day and 0-2 hole. ... Astros and their loud fans expect to win and just might do that again tomorrow (see all those old Yankee series vs. Twins; are Sox outclassed?) ... Little surprised they had no problem getting 4 runs off Lynn very early. Are their hitters just too good? ... Houston is playing with house money. Kicked Sox butt today. Might just continue the onslaught in Game Two. Parts that encourage me: Sox have a close-knit competitive team. Now that they got somewhat embarrassed in the opener, they've been slapped in the face and figure to respond in kind. Gritty baseball coming. ... Sox won the opener last year vs. Tampa and lost that series 3-1. This loss doesn't mean anything if team can salvage the split. ... Giolito might excel for five innings, six innings. ... If Sox can split series in Houston, the Sox will be a whole new team in Chicago Houston won't know what hit it. ... Not sure Houston can win a game in Sox ballpark.
  9. Ah, the Sunday TV shows ... https://www.cbsnews.com/news/anthony-fauci-christmas-too-soon-to-tell-covid-19-pandemic/ Fauci not sure if families should get together to celebrate Christmas. That's rich. I have a solution. Maybe everybody should bring their Christmas gifts to NBA arenas and open their presents at halftime of NBA games with 20,000 of their closest friends in indoor arenas. Or celebrate Thanksgiving at a football game with 65,000 fans. Or at the next hollywood awards show. Don't need masks there. Can't make this stuff up. They should have asked him about Thanksgiving too. He mighta deemed that off limits for parties since it's a month earlier than Xmas.
  10. So many trust issues regarding this virus and vax. Administer it the right way, medical people. Thank you in advance.
  11. LeBron said the same thing. He doesn't have the right to interfere with people's choices and give an opinion on vax. He was the person Ingraham told to shut up and dribble. I agreed with LeBron too. p.s. I don't care if athletes speak out. If I disagree with them, fine. I disagree with almost this entire board on issues that come up.
  12. Sox have been playing well. Saw the big home run. Great win again.
  13. What do you mean what does he mean? Did you listen to it? It's pretty obvious his feelings. I don't want to go speaking for him. I just think the video is pretty explanatory. If this covid thing doesn't go away with all its variants, we're eventually going to have a ton of vaccines casdading through our bodies year after year. I got a notice for my flu shot since October hit. I'm still playing with fire not having been vaxxed for Shingles. And I'd bet moderna will be saying it's time for my next moderna shot soon. Personally I feel everybody's gonna get covid more than once. Last night 16,000 fans in KU arena. There was a mask mandate. Masks up, masks down a lot from attendees. Concerts happening all over, etc.
  14. At least listen to Draymond's comments on the video and tell me you don't agree. Cmon. He is spot on.
  15. Draymond Green brings it. He says this vaccine fight seems political. You don't say. I'm surprised twitter allows his statements to be on there without a warning or removal. Love when people are allowed to speak out like the old days. ... Also like LeBron's position which is rare for me. He isn't gonna go telling peeps what to do. Personal decisions are personal decisions IMO. Love your posts, Rabbit. GO SOX in postseason baby! https://www.reuters.com/lifestyle/sports/warriors-green-says-not-his-place-tell-team-mate-get-vaccinated-2021-10-01/
  16. Can the Sox beat Houston? I don't like veteran teams that have been making the playoffs every year.Of course the Sox are in for back to back seasons. Maybe they're ticked and ready to win big. If Sox are down 2-0, it'll take a minor miracle. At that point, Big Mo will be with Houston so much. We gotta split in Houston
  17. Looks like I agree with Wabbitt; I mean rabbit.
  18. I wish life could return with no youtube, no tic tock and no Twitter. This supression is getting to be the new normal. Like that military guy in jail for merely calling out superiors? Am I the only one on the board concerned about this stuff? Tex? Anybody else? https://video.foxnews.com/v/6274678576001#sp=show-clips
  19. The Fox hosts I listen to admit they are vaxxed Hannity is vaxxed; Tucker vaxxed; don't know about Ingraham. They just want freedom to decide,.
  20. I listen, worry some, then make decisions. I got vaxxed twice so far. Booster coming I think (moderna).
  21. Amazing how different people are. I challenge you to listen to a pod of either of the two and tell me you didn't appreciate their comments/views. Have you ever listened to either? I don't think either are trying to inflame anybody and I listen to both. Yes they express differing views from the norm. That doesn't mean they are evil. Not sure why people think differing opinions are so bad. Whitlock's sidekick, uncle Jimmy, recently was out 2 weeks with SEVERE covid. They had good discussions on it upon Jimmy's return. Jimmy was in BAD SHAPE for a while in the hospital w/covid. I don't think he revealed if he was vaxxed or not. I think both are keeping it private.
  22. I do believe they deserve a choice whether to be vaxxed or not for reasons I've expressed. Did you see Brad Beal's comments? He isn't vaxxed cause he got covid already. Sometimes you guys act like I'm the only one who has been vaxxed who shares this opinion. You don't ever listen to Clay Travis do you? Or Whitlock? They express rational feelings all the time. ON BEAL First brad beal said as quoted by washington post: "“Every player, every person in this world is going to make their own decision for themselves,” Beal said. “I would like an explanation to, you know, people with vaccines. Why are they still getting covid? If that’s something that we are supposed to highly be protected from, like it’s funny that it only reduces your chances of going to the hospital. It doesn’t eliminate anybody from getting covid, right? So is everybody in here vaxxed, I would assume? Right. So you all can still get covid, right?” Chase Hughes of NBC Sports Washington responded: “We’re less likely to die or go to the hospital.” Beal shrugged his left shoulder: “Okay, but, you can still get covid Right,” Beal said. “And you can still pass it along with the vax, right? So I’m just asking the question.” But he was staunch in his belief that receiving a vaccine is his personal choice. That he has already contracted the disease, and missed out on winning a gold medal in Tokyo as a result, had no influence on his decision. “My mom and dad are vaccinated. My older brothers are vaccinated. My sister-in-law is vaccinated. I know people that have people who are very close that are vaccinated just as well as I have people that are close to me, related to me, that are not,” Beal said. “So it’s a fine line. It’s a personal choice between everybody, 100 percent. I understand both sides of it. I understand that there is a percentage of people who can get very sick. I didn’t get sick; I didn’t get sick at all. I lost my smell. But that was it for me. Everybody is going to react different.”
  23. I believe it was the Lambda variant that got discovered in Cali or somewhere I was worried about.
  24. I didn't want to ignore your post. so I'll have a short response. I disagree.
  25. I don't think anybody on this board has refused to get vaxed because of me. If u are vaccine hesitant because of me, please pm me. I do not encourage that. I just personally have problems with various aspects of Covid as mentioned in my prior post. Thus I sympathize with the vax haters.
