ALDS Game 2 - Chicago @ Houston - 1:07pm CDT
That is wild. Is it taken out of context? If not, Tony is telling us he didn't like the trade. 2 closers on one team?? Bad idea.

I'm here. Fellas, these were road losses. It's a different animal on the road. Now if they all hit like young-un, stud Luis Robert, maybe we'd. be singing a different tune. Tony can't hit home runs for his White Sox.

ALDS Game 2 - Chicago @ Houston - 1:07pm CDT
This talk of saving guys is frustrating. Sox are too passive the last few years (all the mind numbing injuries can make you that way I guess). But it's time to not coast (like the .500 ball the last seven weeks). It's time to pull an '05 and step on the throat and show the big boy teams we belong. I stand by my two wins in Chicago prediction but I do acknowledge the Sox not acting like they belong (of course I'm not saying this if the guys could lift and pull some homers as they do at home). Look, modern baseball is pretty simple. Hit home runs and hit some more home runs. Sox wil continue to do this at home. The passive Sox on the road will not. Let's get aggressive, Sox. You belong. Maybe next year Sox will crush the regular season and win 107 games and be a more aggressive unit!

Cease.

ALDS Game 2 - Chicago @ Houston - 1:07pm CDT
You guys laugh(ed) at me, maybe not you specifically, but I said going into the series Cease was Sox best starter. I wish he'd gone in game one and racked up 12 Ks but that's just me personally. Sometimes the eye test is not so bad. Hall of Famer Tony is 0-2 doing it this way, his way, and arguably almost all his moves have failed so far ... albeit on the road.

I'm blaming home field advantage. Case closed.

ALDS Game 2 - Chicago @ Houston - 1:07pm CDT
Winning on the road is almost impossible in the postseason for the Sox unless they hit home runs, 2-4 in a game. Sox have none if I'm not mistaken. Team will win the next two and our crowd will be amazing! Team will go back to Houston and try to not turn to c--p in the indoor arena again. That is all. GO SOX! p.s. The Chisox homers are coming back home baby. 2-2 series tie then back to Houston IMO. Albeit Sox likely get crushed in game five.

I already suggested how long this game was gonna be. So much baseball to be played. In fact I have to leave for a bit. ....

Don't wanna start anything, just wanna say Twitter is exploding. I guess Kaat said something that might be racist earlier in the game during a Moncada at bat. Don't be surprised if he's done for the rest of the series. Don't wanna go there so just do a Twitter check on Kaat.

Nice rally White Sox. Lot of baseball to be played today. This is gonna be one, long game. Jose baby kept the rally going. Robert! Yes, nice stroke

ALDS Game 2 - Chicago @ Houston - 1:07pm CDT
We knew these road games would be tough. Sox need to scratch out a win today somehow. I'm gonna be sad/miffed if Sox keep up this horrid play on the road. 0-2 is insurmountable

Holy cow. Is this really Bob Costas and Jim Kaat doing the game?

Difficult To Assess This Series
I will be very discouraged if the Sox fail to hit Friday for the second game in a row. It shouldn't be that difficult to score some runs in road games. If Sox lose Friday, it's over. Sox aren't coming back from two down in a five-game set against a good team. I guess it's 'possible' Sox could then win two in Chicago if our fans go crazy both games, but I just don't see Houston losing 3 in a row. Sox better hit Friday or yes they can be accused of Twins-type choking. Personally I think Sox bounce back and it'll then become a helluva series.

ALDS Game 1- White Sox/Astros, 3:07 GAME THREAD
People are wacky. I got the postgame show on Sirius radio somehow and some caller said because Lynn sucks versus Houston, Dallas Keuchel (sp?) should have started. And he was furious Moncada batted second. Moncada got on base twice. And Dallas for whatever reason couldn't strike out Fathom. Luckily Conner the host gave the caller a wake-up call and ripped his Keuchel suggestion. Geez.

ALDS Game 1- White Sox/Astros, 3:07 GAME THREAD
Good post. The game was long, and brutally boring. Typical game in lift and pull or K era. No reason that thing should have taken 3:45 or whatever it was. Baseball has a huge problem and nobody seems to care about pace of play. I guess the glorious home runs are the future of the game. ... I imagine the hardest thing in sports to do is to identify and blast a sinker or slider. Hitters get set up with the rare fastball and just can't make contact. It's pretty maddening. ... How bout the shift on Moncada. it seems almost a fineable offense to not plop down a half swing bunt to vacated left side of the infield, but players won't do it, so whatever. I'd think that would drive old school Tony crazy.

I hear you on this point. On the other hand, if u do funky stuff, you get RickyR results in the postseason.

ALDS Game 1- White Sox/Astros, 3:07 GAME THREAD
Talking about next year is premature. Sox can tie the series tomorrow and win it all. ... As far as improvements to the roster? Geez, you don't want to trade the guys who made you so confident about the future in the first place. Look not all postseasons can be won with just one loss (2005). Sox either learned a lot today about how they have to scrap, claw, lift and pull and win, or they didn't and the offseason will be here. No need to panic on a team that figures to win this pathetic division for some years to come. Again, last year the Sox beat the A's in game one and got smoked. It's time the team sucks it up and some postseason heroes emerge.

ALDS Game 1- White Sox/Astros, 3:07 GAME THREAD
I'm now going to sit back at 8:15 and read this long thread. Haven't read a post yet. My take ... Parts that worry me: Anemic offense today. Team didn't explode offensively just cause the calendar spilled into October for playoff baseball. Speculation is the Astros' two starters are good at keeping the ball in the ballpark which would suggest another homerless day and 0-2 hole. ... Astros and their loud fans expect to win and just might do that again tomorrow (see all those old Yankee series vs. Twins; are Sox outclassed?) ... Little surprised they had no problem getting 4 runs off Lynn very early. Are their hitters just too good? ... Houston is playing with house money. Kicked Sox butt today. Might just continue the onslaught in Game Two. Parts that encourage me: Sox have a close-knit competitive team. Now that they got somewhat embarrassed in the opener, they've been slapped in the face and figure to respond in kind. Gritty baseball coming. ... Sox won the opener last year vs. Tampa and lost that series 3-1. This loss doesn't mean anything if team can salvage the split. ... Giolito might excel for five innings, six innings. ... If Sox can split series in Houston, the Sox will be a whole new team in Chicago Houston won't know what hit it. ... Not sure Houston can win a game in Sox ballpark.

COVID Thread Part Deux
Ah, the Sunday TV shows ... https://www.cbsnews.com/news/anthony-fauci-christmas-too-soon-to-tell-covid-19-pandemic/ Fauci not sure if families should get together to celebrate Christmas. That's rich. I have a solution. Maybe everybody should bring their Christmas gifts to NBA arenas and open their presents at halftime of NBA games with 20,000 of their closest friends in indoor arenas. Or celebrate Thanksgiving at a football game with 65,000 fans. Or at the next hollywood awards show. Don't need masks there. Can't make this stuff up. They should have asked him about Thanksgiving too. He mighta deemed that off limits for parties since it's a month earlier than Xmas.

So many trust issues regarding this virus and vax. Administer it the right way, medical people. Thank you in advance.

COVID Thread Part Deux
LeBron said the same thing. He doesn't have the right to interfere with people's choices and give an opinion on vax. He was the person Ingraham told to shut up and dribble. I agreed with LeBron too. p.s. I don't care if athletes speak out. If I disagree with them, fine. I disagree with almost this entire board on issues that come up.

Sox have been playing well. Saw the big home run. Great win again.

COVID Thread Part Deux
What do you mean what does he mean? Did you listen to it? It's pretty obvious his feelings. I don't want to go speaking for him. I just think the video is pretty explanatory. If this covid thing doesn't go away with all its variants, we're eventually going to have a ton of vaccines casdading through our bodies year after year. I got a notice for my flu shot since October hit. I'm still playing with fire not having been vaxxed for Shingles. And I'd bet moderna will be saying it's time for my next moderna shot soon. Personally I feel everybody's gonna get covid more than once. Last night 16,000 fans in KU arena. There was a mask mandate. Masks up, masks down a lot from attendees. Concerts happening all over, etc.

At least listen to Draymond's comments on the video and tell me you don't agree. Cmon. He is spot on.
