  1. Anybody complaining about Eloy has rocks in the head. S.U.P.E.R.S.T.A.R
  2. That it's home run or strikeout, nothing else really needed.
  3. Nova appears to have turned it around. Might as well keep him around next year to see if he's dominant with the Sox after adjusting one season. That's a nice job last night by Nova.
  4. I guess I need to be educated by the stat lovers. As a good Little League and Babe Ruth League (or American Legion I forget what they called our league at Mt. Greenwood) player (didn't make team at Bro Rice; too many boys back then tried out) I always did think a walk was as good as a hit. But I thought in this day and age a single (or a walk) were to be discarded as invaluable. So why the deep concern over on base percentage? Just wondering. I feel like that article vindicated my position. The author called Jose "elite."
  5. I'm a White Sox fan through and through. Look (favorite word of presidential candidates) I want to win then. I want to win now. I demand the GM do his job and get a small market (yeah right) team like the Sox atop a crap division. I WANT TO WIN PERIOD. That's all there is. As far as Abreu ... I also as a fan have my favorites. Of course I want him on my team. He's proven himself to this fan..
  6. I'll never believe we had to tank to get excellent again.

That's crazy story. People are so angry I'm glad the guy didn't slug you. All we can do is get the more aggressive people arrested.
  8. See my opinions aren't that radical. Some people agree with greg about Jose my idol (baseball idol).
  9. Way to go, Nova. Can't hate u if u pitch like that. Jose baby! Nice dig on the throw. Nobody cares but me prolly but nice scoop sir. oops it was Scole. My bad.
  10. Almost all our players have had their good moments. But yet as a team we blow chunks most of the time. Weird. I'd like to try it with a good manager one year. I mean Nova has had some excellent outings, this one by far his best against a great team.
  11. Thanks for clarifying Bubba.
  12. I don't think he sucks.
  13. I disagree. The Sox certainly could have paid him what he wanted for a few more years. If the Sox can't afford Tyler Flowers ... wow. I just wish Jerry would sell the team. He's got his one WS ring.
  14. Eloy gets him out of any penalty box. It stands as one of the great trades in White Sox history. He's going to hit 30-40 home runs without even trying; 50 many years trying and with the juiced ball. Tatis is one of the worst trades in the history of sports potentially but like I said, Eloy, is that good.

We care and wish u happiness and peace Jack P.
  16. Wow in 29 at bats he has 3 homers and 7 RBI. He has seven walks. he's off to a fantastic start.
  17. I didn't realize it was this bad. Was watching Sports Center for first time in a while and virtually all the highlights are home runs. Why not just play home run derby. Laugh if you must but I bet you MLB could start a home run derby league and hold it all winter in warm weather cities and it'd be hugely popular. Just like NBA 3 on 3 league; TBT and all that, MLB should add a home run derby league. It's all anybody cares about it seems.

I do think managers that never praise are so transparent. They are just trying to avoid getting screamed at and fired by the CEOs or the people right above them. They lay it on the little guys and gals, tear into them. I still say a good boss is one who appreciates an employee going above and beyond. I've seen too many examples of bosses taking their GOOD people for granted. Guess what? Those good people who have assholes for bosses start looking after 8 months and leave after a year. Life's too short to work for jerks. And I'm talking about excellent workers here; ones most companies would like to keep around if they are smart. They should get some praise along with $$ once in a while.
  19. It's kind of weird baseball GMs decided the analytics of all vs. nothing is the way to go: Homers and strikeouts from all hitters 1 through 9 are desired. It's very bizarre because eking out runs here and there seemingly still seems like a decent way of scoring runs. For example, Madrigal leads off with a walk or single to right and takes third on a base hit by Anderson. First and third nobody out. Too much work. If you have enough guys hitting home runs you score 5-8 runs a game and that's enough to win allegedly. No need to risk pitchouts and out stealing while trying to go first to third. The ONLY weird thing about all this is some managers like Ricky still believe in the other stuff. How can the Sox brass EVER allow him to bunt when the new organizational philosophy is apparent. Just like all other teams it's lift and pull and hit 3 or more homers a game good for six or more runs. Very bizarre how relics like Ricky are allowed to bunt without being fired on the spot.
  20. I've grown a lot. Instead of commenting, I wish the White Sox a victory and my favorite players big games as well! Peace out this Sunday!
  21. I should have put a "great value" or one of the best values, then.
  22. no, the best value for the buck; making pennies but producing quite nicely.
  23. I do. That is true. Personally if you look at Jose's 125 hits, 24 homers and 83 RBIs in 114 games, he has added some nice moments to a horrible season IMO. At least for me.
  24. I looked it up and it said 2.2. If that's wrong I can kill the item.
  25. It's just one game. You guys remind me of Scrooge telling off Bob Cratchett for wanting off on Christmas Day: "It's just one day of the year, sir" was Cratchett's reply.
