  1. That would be my hope. Also Jerry selling the club. Kudos forever for 2005, but sayonara.
  2. I'm OK with him continuing to get starts since the games are meaningless. It was just a suggestion we shut him down. His ERA blows. Almost 6.00. Not sure if ERA means anything anymore. His Ks are pretty good and I know Ks are important.
  3. I'm surprised the care enough to tweet about it.
  4. I think once you set the precedent for tanking it takes a lotta talent to finally creep toward .500. I know tanking has worked in the past for teams. I just think the odds are much greater we lose 90 or more games next year than we are 10 over .500. We shall see.
  5. If Cease is going to stay up, he ought to just pitch against the other organizations that are tanking. Some of his performances have been pretty bad. Probably should send him down, give him 2 more starts for confidence then shut it down. His ERA is 5.76. He's given up 11 bombs in 50 innings. Or just let him pitch the rest of the year in the bigs for experience and hope he has more good outings than bad. I think I'd send him down. He's had a taste of the bigs. Next season is his age 24 season.
  6. Is this finally the Twins' year? WS champs?
  7. Fathom deserves credit for saying that all year. He has noticed.
  8. Just curious. Cease got some experience this year. Should we just send him back down to work on some things. Let him pitch two more weeks in AAA then shut him down? I don't really care either way and am still high on him.
  9. And others are yawning "all star." Doesn't matter. What do they know thinking he's an all star? Remember D-F-A is his grade.
  10. What do u think of this piece on our home stadium? Man the food sounds so good in that piece. If you went to 20 games a year and ate different main courses each time ... yum. https://stadiumjourney.com/stadiums/guaranteed-rate-field-s6/
  11. Nice play at 3B. It might be smart to get Detwiler out of there before somebody gets hurt on all the hard hit balls put in play. I do realize his defense has let him down a bit, but I'm not impressed with his velocity/location. Fathom in his prime could homer off this guy.
  12. I'll stop putting "worship." But like I said I purposely tried to go extreme in order to in my mind nullify some of the hateful posts re. one of our more effective hitters.
  13. I know Detwiler has had some decent outings (I think) but if I had tickets and saw he was pitching, I'd sell them or give 'em away. I can't believe he's clocked at 93 that one pitch. My final comment on him: I truly think he's lobbing in batting practice pitches here. Gosh there are some bad players in MLB. Scary really. Hope some of these guys got their college degrees.
  14. All I wanna say is "congrats Jose" for this accomplishment. I'm sorry but Detwiler really truly looks like a soft throwing meatball thrower tonight.
  15. Leury has won me over. He's OK by me even to play on the rebuilt, contending team. Detwiler looks like he's throwing soft meat up there to me.
  16. I said "in a baseball sense." I want to convey the opposite spectrum of those who criticize him on here somewhat forcibly. If some deem it necessary to bag on Jose aggressively ... I feel I have the right to praise him in an overzealous/aggressive way as well. It's the best word I could think of to say I feel he's great as he is. No real faults that would prevent him from earning a solid grade of A. If it offends or seems excessively foolish I guess I'll try to stop using that word.

If he lives in Miami I guess my assertion is offbase. There are still worse places to be in the winter for a month than Arizona with folks pitching to you for a few hours a day. But my bad if he lives in Miami.
  18. No he's not. I'm just a traditional fan who 'worships' him in a baseball sense. I don't care about things like autographs. If I saw him and he looked approachable I'd probably try to shake his hand and say, 'Sox fan here. Nice season; nice career, sir."
  19. I can accept B-minus I guess, though I think he deserves some sort of A grade. ... I still think we don't consider enough the fact he has had no protection in the lineup much of the year and puts a lot of runs on the scoreboard via hits that score runners.
  20. That's all he's gonna get, breach. His third year will not be guaranteed. Bank it. Oops I missed your sarcasm on Jose. Sorry. I can accept jokes.
  21. U really think Jose is worthy of a DFA? Cmon Breach? I keep thinking Jose has done something nefarious to garner a lot of negativity from some fans.

Yeah I assume it's useful. No doubt. But it's also nirvana if you are a hitter and can hit in the cages and/or even the field with some locals chasing down the balls. Also the bitter cold weather truly sucks in the offseason. Biting cold wind chills and ice.
  23. Want to bet? Uh, my mom cares. I can find you a friend out here who cares. So guess what? You are wrong again. You said "no one" which means u wrong.
  24. I'm too cheap to purchase the Websites so tell me, how will Brother Rice fare this season? Is the party over and back to 2-7? Or will the team be excellent again? Which game should I return to Chicago to go see? GO BR!

I LOVE Moncada and will never blast him but who wouldn't want to go to Arizona for a couple weeks in the winter to take some hacks in the batting cage and talk baseball with Sox instructors? I think it's a no brainer to go take a few thousand swings and enjoy the non snow.
