  1. Our young pitchers are so inconsistent. Some nights they rack up the strikeouts and you think we'll have almost all our future winning rotation from tank/rebuild acquisitions. Then other nights they reek so badly you wonder if we need to go with 3-4 veteran free agent starters. I realize we'll not give up on the younguns but some nights they really blow chunks, others they are dandy.
  2. Don't sweat it. We know you are a passionate person and seemingly a caring guy.
  3. And whether people are inhertently lazy or not . Actually I have some opinions on that if we have a thread
  4. I laugh at how we in America are all or nothing. Like the radical candidates on the one side want the US to implement socialism. They think the government running everything will work? Ugh. How bout simply working on healthcare and the student loan problem and the minimum wage problem and call it good. Can you imagine if got rid of capitalism? It's so silly to even think about it. Let's work on what's wrong but stop talking about socialism being a good thing for the USA for gosh sakes. Silly.
  5. You aren't going to have to move if the next presidential election goes to somebody who thinks as you do. I thought work 60 and get paid for 40 was the mantra of most white collar workers, nyuk nyuk.
  6. Uh oh. Did you watch the debates?
  7. It makes you wonder how smart baseball minds could come up to the conclusion they want John Jay on a tank/rebuild team. Weird. Almost like giving away the 4 mill or whatever he makes.
  8. To those who want the Sox to save pennies here and there ... there should be outrage over the John Jay acquisition. He was not needed.
  9. Nice post roofshot! Join the Jose supporters club!
  10. I really think you have to be an ingrate. I think that's the right word. You have the right to like who you want, but this is a guy I think should be easy to root for and want around. My gosh you don't need 8 superstars all between the ages of 24 and 29 on the field at the same time to field a winner. If Jose Abreu's production isn't good enough for some fans, we probably don't deserve a winner here.
  11. Ever notice he never gets a day off? He had another excellent game today. The guy that said he should be D-F-A ... that really has me steamed tonight. Geez, how unfair can one get?
  12. It really looks bad the years Minnie and KC kick our ass. It hasn't mattered for a long time but we often get owned by these small market clubs in our division. Just wish Jerry would sell the team and try again with a whole new front office.
  13. Abreu 2-for-3; Eloy 2-for-3 with RBI today. Me likey. Two of my favorite Sox.
  14. That would be my hope. Also Jerry selling the club. Kudos forever for 2005, but sayonara.
  15. I'm OK with him continuing to get starts since the games are meaningless. It was just a suggestion we shut him down. His ERA blows. Almost 6.00. Not sure if ERA means anything anymore. His Ks are pretty good and I know Ks are important.
  16. I'm surprised the care enough to tweet about it.
  17. I think once you set the precedent for tanking it takes a lotta talent to finally creep toward .500. I know tanking has worked in the past for teams. I just think the odds are much greater we lose 90 or more games next year than we are 10 over .500. We shall see.
  18. If Cease is going to stay up, he ought to just pitch against the other organizations that are tanking. Some of his performances have been pretty bad. Probably should send him down, give him 2 more starts for confidence then shut it down. His ERA is 5.76. He's given up 11 bombs in 50 innings. Or just let him pitch the rest of the year in the bigs for experience and hope he has more good outings than bad. I think I'd send him down. He's had a taste of the bigs. Next season is his age 24 season.
  19. Is this finally the Twins' year? WS champs?
  20. Fathom deserves credit for saying that all year. He has noticed.
  21. Just curious. Cease got some experience this year. Should we just send him back down to work on some things. Let him pitch two more weeks in AAA then shut him down? I don't really care either way and am still high on him.
  22. And others are yawning "all star." Doesn't matter. What do they know thinking he's an all star? Remember D-F-A is his grade.
  23. What do u think of this piece on our home stadium? Man the food sounds so good in that piece. If you went to 20 games a year and ate different main courses each time ... yum. https://stadiumjourney.com/stadiums/guaranteed-rate-field-s6/
  24. Nice play at 3B. It might be smart to get Detwiler out of there before somebody gets hurt on all the hard hit balls put in play. I do realize his defense has let him down a bit, but I'm not impressed with his velocity/location. Fathom in his prime could homer off this guy.
  25. I'll stop putting "worship." But like I said I purposely tried to go extreme in order to in my mind nullify some of the hateful posts re. one of our more effective hitters.
