If that's true, they better do it. It's going to be annoying if our staff reeks again next season.

This is still a relatively new phenomenon with fans wanting to lose. Not sure what year the tank mentality started, but it used to be win or die trying every night.

Pitching staff needs a lot of work for this team to reach .500 next season. Is Coop the man to ask for what he needs and fix some current guys?

Sox are average team at home; miserable road club.

That was a strike by rule BTW. Letter high. I realize they don't call it, though.

Cordell screwed up. Stuff happens. Hopefully someday at this stage of the season I'll be furious at such a blunder. Now ... who cares? Just another loss. I don't even get mad at Sox-Cubs or Sox-Royals losses anymore. The front office got me used to it.

Well, that's sucky. The teams should still be playing, in theory.

I happen to be one of the posters who think he's OK. He's not that bad a player. If Robert and Madrigal start the year with the Sox we can afford to have a non all star at one of the positions. I'm sure the Sox would love to go cheap and stick him out there though there was that tweet from the reporter the other day saying Rick wanted a LH stud free agent bat in right which is fine too.

He's 2 for 61 which has to be the worst stretch for any non pitcher in baseball history. I mean nobody has gone 0 for 61 to start a season, that's for sure. 1 for 61? I doubt it. I wonder if any other team will give him a chance next year. I remember last year the guy hit 27 bombs.

I may not explain myself well. Can I please ask you something: a.) Do you agree with my assertions about the players in the post above? That they are Stars? b.) Do you also agree we're not even a .500 team for next year as it stands now? c.) Finally: Do you agree Hahn is set for life merely for acquiring such stars as I suggested? Please answer all questions. Thanx. As an addendum, I suggest he's set for life for acquiring those once in a generation stars. I am confused, that's all, that such stars don't even guarantee a .500 team. Agree that's weird? I stand by saying the mere acquistion of those stars guarantees Hahn a job forever though. They are that good.

He defnitely is set for life acquiring Moncada and Eloy alone. They are superstars and Hahn brought them in. Eloy is 30 to 40 homers a year by just staying healthy and Moncada is overall phenomenal. With Abreu not slowing down and Anderson also a star and Gio looking for real and Robert a certain star, Hahn has to be considered a runaway success. Yes he's set for life as a GM. The weird question is with all this talent can he even get this team over .500? They have a lot of work to do to mold this into a .500 team much less win two WS before everybody leaves.

Tim is an all star. Another nice double by him.- GT - (9/13) White Sox at Mariners, 9:10 pm, WGN
Tough crowd here. Engel gets an LOL for a home run and a "does it really matter" and Jose gets total crickets for homer 33 and RBI 113. U guys baffle me.- Game Thread - 09/12/19 - Royals @ Sox - Gio Day
Man, you are optimistic. Our inconsistent starters simply must become consistent. We need some free agent mound signings especially for the bullpen. We could use a starter who 80 percent of the time is amazing. GO SOX!- Reinsdorf assures Ron that Abreu will always be a White Sox
I'd say he's at least average on digging throws. As far as his bat, fans can watch a replay of last night's homer. He can still catch up to pitches and drive them out of the park. I wonder if fans of Vaughn would be happy with the numbers Abreu has put up at the plate this season? I would think so. 32 Homers and 114 RBIs. Cmon. RBIs can't be that antiquated. they are a sign of production. Is Vaughn considered Hosmer-like on defense? I mean are we talking superstar here? I'll concede Abreu is no superstar but he is a star. Oh I was going to point out, Rex Hudler on the record said on the broadcast last night "Abreu is one of the best hitters in the American League." Listen. He said it.- Reinsdorf assures Ron that Abreu will always be a White Sox
That was a nice play by Jose on the pop foul by tonight. I still say he's a C on defense or C-. He's not an F. He digs well and he throws to second well. He goes well to his right, is awful to his left and awful on short flies that go to the outfield. I know a lot of you are passionate about how bad he is on defense so I won't argue that. I just don't happen to agree that he's so bad it would cost us a WS. The man appears to be in his prime as a hitter is what I'd say. He crushed that pitch tonight though baseball has become home run derby I'll give u that. I know a lot of you are penciling Vaughn in for stardom. That excites me. Is there any chance he could fail? Or is he a Trout-like can't miss talent? I know this board pretty much is assuming greatness the same way I assumed Eloy greatness. And Eloy is can't miss. One final point: With superstars in Moncada and Eloy and some other guys our manager has no excuse not to start winning a majority of ballgames starting next year. Get him some pitching, Mr. Hahn. Moncada and Eloy are gonna put up monster numbers and I happen to think Jose puts up monster numbers already.- 2020 RF options
For some reason you have to be careful when tweeting DM's on the phone. I don't know why but the tweets can end up showing up on actual Twitter for everybody to see if you DM with your phone.- 9/11 | Royals @ White Sox | Sparkman vs López | 7:10pm
Royals win tonight's game of Home Run Derby. Sad what baseball has become although my guy did hit a home run tonight. Bless u Jose.- White Sox final win total
holy bleep. I wonder why I thought they'd win big.- White Sox final win total
i wonder what i predicted. I'm thinking I said 10 below .500 or so. Maybe more.- Reinsdorf assures Ron that Abreu will always be a White Sox
I think when he's a player on the team you follow and you are an analytics person, there's much more of a "fear" of decline than if the guy was on some other team. In the past fans on here have been OK with the Sox going after various guys with much more alarming age and stats than Jose. They want to head off the diminishment in his game which they feel is coming rapidly in his case because of his analytics/age. My take is we have a zillion good players for the rebuilt team and he'll be fine next year at first and DH after that IF Vaughn is good. Also Sox have pinched pennies and I know they can afford 12 mill a year for Jose for 2 years.- Reinsdorf assures Ron that Abreu will always be a White Sox
You can't deny there's a weird vibe on this board surrounding Abreu. Like you saying I'm on a high horse. I'm a fan trying to praise a veteran White Sox player who has had one of the most consistent seasons of a Sox player in a while. He had one little, what was it, two week slump? Aside from that he's raking. I'm trying to stand up for and praise a player. Why is this about me being on a high horse. Man ... times have changed. You can get in trouble on a team's message board by praising a player too much. Weird vibe for sure.- Reinsdorf assures Ron that Abreu will always be a White Sox
If it's against the law, arrest him. If not, leave him be. If it's against baseball's rules suspend him. If not let him be. - GT - (9/13) White Sox at Mariners, 9:10 pm, WGN
