  1. Yes sir: the unwritten rule: "Tie at home; win on the road. WTF?" Time to fire him, just let him go. Bring up Omar.
  2. To tell u the truth, he should be fired (again) for the squeeze. You don't squeeze Eloy the gazillion dollar man when the team is buried in the standings. Eloy could get hurt on the squeeze which was unnecessary. I know you don't play scared, but even if I was tempted to squeeze I'd stop myself with slow/valuable Eloy on third.
  3. Pretty good fastball there. I thought he coulda hit the next to last pitch in the sequence. Oh well we have no business beating the Phils anyway.
  4. I was thinking we might squeeze but not with Eloy on third and risk of him getting hurt. Not crazy about the bunt there; not crazy about Yolmer's chances of lofting a deep nuff fly ball either. Bummer.
  5. Even Greg, critical of Detweiler, agrees and says, "Nice outing, sir."
  6. It was not one of my best. To summize: Timmy (good defender according to greg); Abreu below average.
  7. I tend to give guys like Timmy and Abreu a break on defense cause of the focus you suggest. Don't forget. We have a lousy slow working pitching staff which doesn't help the infielders any. And we have a gawd-awful team, which I pointed out recently could be part of the reason Jose and others sometimes look pathetic at the plate, giving away at bats so to speak in this homerun, strikeout or nothing era. I do think Timmy is an elite offensive and defensive SS of the future and do concede Jose is below average defensively focus or not. I do also note that I've seen worse defenders than Jose.
  8. Thanks gusguyman. Very interesting. Thanks for filling me in. I did not check his college stats; I assume he was a stud though; that's a good baseball school.
  9. Stoney and Jason do a nice job; this joking about the hot dog cannon and pizza cannon vs chili cannon is OK humor. I don't mind it since Stoney is obviously close to Jason. Can you imagine Hawk? Though I like Hawk a lot still he'd be very unreceptive to talking about such drivel.
  10. I just read a little about Zavala. Still a youngster, 25. San Diego State. 12th rounder which isn't very special. My ? is ... is he any good? has he been thought of as a good prospect or just another guy? Thank u.
  11. Probably considering an outfielder was pitching. He hit a cannon to third though that should have been in the corner for a double. Calling up Covey though really is a fireable offense by whomever did it.
  12. I watched Fulmer busting butt down the line hustling his butt off trying to beat it out and I was impressed with him. I thought that's what sports is all about. Great effort. This is even though financially it makes no sense for him to hustle and possibly (probably since he did) get hurt and according to many fans who want to lose and continue tanking certainly makes no sense trying to beat it out in a game we were so close to losing and helping our draft position. In conclusion I applaud Fulmer for caring when nobody would have blamed him for loafing down the basepaths and staying healthy for a team going nowhere. His loafing could have been explained away that he's not used to running the basepaths and had trouble getting out of the box, etc. Kudos to Fulmer for trying to win when so many want the tank to cause L after L. TWTW really shows in a segment like that.
  13. He turns 29 in December which in this day and age is eons younger than Jose's 33. They have almost identical (traditional) stats. I don't mind Puig. He's a good hitter. He's really going to help Cleveland maybe win it all finally.
  14. Finally a win thanks to Philly manager. We don't win if they pitch a real pitcher and not an outfielder.
  15. He also homered earlier in the game. He's a very good baseball player and fine representative of the Chicago White Sox and yet there are some vocal fans that seem to actually WANT him to do badly to further some weird agenda of theirs that involves saving a billionaire (cheap) owner money. Makes zero sense but I don't care. I love and worship (in non religious way) Jose and nothing anybody can do to make me change my mind.
  16. Whatever. I love him or as I say worship him. You guys slay me. Nice job, Jose. You got the game winning hit and took away the embarrassment of the team unable to score off an outfielder, lol. Nice job, buddy.
  17. LOL. Even in a game thread where he knocks in the lead run, people blast Jose. And I've been told nobody on the board dislikes him, LOL.
  18. And I care about that? He just got a big hit ... again.
  19. Say what you want about my guy, Jose cut his swing down and slapped a single to left.
  20. As much a I despise John Jay he would absolutely get on base off this outfielder. Finally a hit!
  21. Cordell, nice at bat. Geez. Absurd. Fire somebody please!
  22. You know this is like batting practice. Unacceptable to not slap some hits at the very least. Terrible at bat there!!
  23. I'd rather Davidson pitch than Osich.
  24. Funny how we know Osich will be scored upon yet we knew the Phillie outfielder would shut us down.
