  1. Why do you get so mad at individual posters? Let him rant. It's sports not life and death. Who gives a bleep what people think?
  2. Cruz slugs three home runs but he's too old to be on a team. He's 39. No way Jose will produce after 33 if that, right? p.s. somebody will tell me now it's only because of steroids cruz is a stud at 39.
  3. You poor man, going to a game Despaige started. Ugh. Despaige gives greg despair. Nobody cares about your $225, but I do. That's a lot of jack to watch a horrific game.
  4. Great point, Dick. I like your posts of late. We get nothing for Nova. He had to be close to DFA before the amazing shutout.
  5. Leury is a nice player. Good hitter. We do not need Kemp. Pass.
  6. There's sort of a negative vibe around here about Abreu and I don't like it.
  7. I disagree. Eloy has missed a full month with injuries. Kopech is out with a serious surgery. Timmy also got hurt and has missed significant time. Abreu is being run out of town. I'll give you Moncada and Eloy when healthy and Gio and Colome. And we're also running Colome out of town. I disagree it's been a successful season although the team is learning better how to win at home.
  8. Not when one horrific series effectively ended the season (not that we were in it anyway, but 0-4 to KC?)
  9. Apparently he's sticking to it takes 5 years to build a nice house. You'd think Stone would get some better takes. How bout this one. Surely Hawk's retirement was sped up because he had no interest in watching bad baseball night after night season after season. What about that, Stoney? I guarantee you Hawk knows rotten teams and managers when he sees em (Robin, Renteria). This pathetic baseball I'm sure made Hawk say, "I can't take this anymore." He probably was falling asleep on the drive home just thinking about this boring baseball. Stoney, I love you, don't shill for Jerry.
  10. Who cares if it is an overpay? It's not like the Sox are spending any money. You fans that worry about overpays on Abreu ... are you gonna be OK with some 200 or 300 million deal for some alleged superstar? My guess is you are trying to save here and there for the one guy who winds up getting 200 million some offseason? My take is pay the man. He's an all star and is going to be an asset the next 3 years. I hate to break it to you guys who think we're going to win pennants without some veterans who have been through the wars.
  11. Why do you continue to respond when I already conceded you win the argument and yet re-affirmed my ultimate point about Jose and winning? If I write any more I fear I'll get banned for repeating myself. In my opinion trolling can go both ways. Bless u and have a nice day. I better stop responding to this exchange or I could get in trouble IMO.
  12. Wrong. You guys are just like the (Democrat or Republican, you pick I won't write which one lest I violate political policy rules on here) Congress people who have nice one liners that win arguments. You are sharper than me thus win the arguments. I already conceded I never win an argument on here which is fine. But you win as your quick statements lead to your last sentence which wins this argument. Anyhow, my intent is to win. I personally don't feel Jose can impact winning when the front office puts so many failures around him not only in the lineup but on the mound. Now we have some other good hitters and pitchers but very few in the Jose years. At any rate, though you make good points and win this argument, my intent whether you believe it or not is to win baby, win. I feel Jose can contribute to winning. p.s.I thought my policy on winning was crystal clear. I got in trouble on this board for writing one time too many how much I care about winning compared to tanking to get a better draft pick. GO JOSE! GO SOX!
  13. That's one of the reasons I love or worship (in a sports sense, not religious) Abreu so much. He's maintained pretty damn nice stats while playing on a pathetic club. Surely since I tend to repeat myself cause of the silence out there to my points you remember I've written that I would think it'd be tough concentrating on individual at bats in July, August, September with the team buried. Yet he seems to always put up good (traditional) stats. You can't accuse me of hating Jose. I am a loyal backer of his. Even if he flops the rest of his career I'll respect what he's done. I feel like he puts in good to great effort and his performance has impressed me despite having to play for a pathetic organization that provides little protection for him in lineup.
  14. I read somewhere the Sox consider Bummer a closer candidate of future. Did anybody see that? If so and they keep him I hope you all remember I guaranteed on here we're not trading Bummer. Colome ... if the Yankees or Braves or Dodgers or whomever want him so badly why aren't they getting it done. Maybe Hahn can pull off the steal of the century. Yes I hate "flipping" players but if he can get 4 can't miss prospects or 3 for him I guess I can't complain. With him I go back to the original deal. We get him for Narvaez? And that's it? I keep thinking we'll just get a similar prospect back for Colome on the flip. Just an Omar Narvaez ceiling type guy. That's dumb in that scenario to deal next year's closer for somebody only as good as Narvaez.
  15. I love you vile. You and I are fans of winning. You are what's right about sports IMO.
  16. Man I never thought Soxtalk users would be discussing trading the guys we already traded for. Truly a cycle that can never be broken I guess. Fans love the mysterious so much that at least one would trade Gio and Moncada.
  17. Good post but I don't think the fans matter here ... at all. The Sox though worth all that money we recently read have fooled everybody into being a small market team, one of the cheapest front offices around. Sox are worth all this money despite team's horrific performance on the field throughout history. Fans don't matter. Apparently they don't need them with all that primary money in TV apparently never drying up.
  18. It seems kind of weird to start proposing trades involving guys we acquired for the rebuild like Gio. Is this loop never ending?
  19. Great post. What do the naysayers say to this? Caulfield with the slam dunk on behalf of Harold.
  20. I'm just a loyal fan who will never turn on his favorite players or managers.
  21. Note to mods who dislike me. There are all kinds of fans. This one agrees with my post!
  22. You don't realize how mad I am when I read what I perceive slights of a guy like Jose whom I FEEL IS PRODUCTIVE. Believe me or not, I get steamed.
  23. How bout the guy who started the thread with those poll questions. Question is Would u be mad if the Sox don't try to deal Abreu?? Give me a break. It's disrespectful. I'd be mad if they do try to deal him. He has a night like tonight where's the fan joy? It takes a lot to make some people lay off.
