  1. I read somewhere the Sox consider Bummer a closer candidate of future. Did anybody see that? If so and they keep him I hope you all remember I guaranteed on here we're not trading Bummer. Colome ... if the Yankees or Braves or Dodgers or whomever want him so badly why aren't they getting it done. Maybe Hahn can pull off the steal of the century. Yes I hate "flipping" players but if he can get 4 can't miss prospects or 3 for him I guess I can't complain. With him I go back to the original deal. We get him for Narvaez? And that's it? I keep thinking we'll just get a similar prospect back for Colome on the flip. Just an Omar Narvaez ceiling type guy. That's dumb in that scenario to deal next year's closer for somebody only as good as Narvaez.
  2. I love you vile. You and I are fans of winning. You are what's right about sports IMO.
  3. Man I never thought Soxtalk users would be discussing trading the guys we already traded for. Truly a cycle that can never be broken I guess. Fans love the mysterious so much that at least one would trade Gio and Moncada.
  4. Good post but I don't think the fans matter here ... at all. The Sox though worth all that money we recently read have fooled everybody into being a small market team, one of the cheapest front offices around. Sox are worth all this money despite team's horrific performance on the field throughout history. Fans don't matter. Apparently they don't need them with all that primary money in TV apparently never drying up.
  5. It seems kind of weird to start proposing trades involving guys we acquired for the rebuild like Gio. Is this loop never ending?
  6. Great post. What do the naysayers say to this? Caulfield with the slam dunk on behalf of Harold.
  7. I'm just a loyal fan who will never turn on his favorite players or managers.
  8. Note to mods who dislike me. There are all kinds of fans. This one agrees with my post!
  9. You don't realize how mad I am when I read what I perceive slights of a guy like Jose whom I FEEL IS PRODUCTIVE. Believe me or not, I get steamed.
  10. How bout the guy who started the thread with those poll questions. Question is Would u be mad if the Sox don't try to deal Abreu?? Give me a break. It's disrespectful. I'd be mad if they do try to deal him. He has a night like tonight where's the fan joy? It takes a lot to make some people lay off.
  11. It's not cool to consider those types of contributions anymore. It's all about the advanced stats, baby. Jose is old and unproductive don't ya know?
  12. Man I am 100 percent a different kind of fan than you. Give me division titles and I'll take my chances in the playoffs. You want to contend when you think we're so dominant we just cruise to the crown. Rarely works out that way unless it's 2005. This is absolutely un-American in my opinion. Winning is an American quality. Wat you got against winning and competing once you get to the playoffs? 2021? Geez.
  13. Why? Why? Why? What the hell has he done to deserve this? It's a non sequitir. On a team that's played such embarrassing baseball the last 4 seasons, all this guy has done is excel. What a slap to the face of a true pro. If the Sox trade Jose Abreu they are really an ungrateful, ill informed front office. Keep him and sign him 3 years 36 to 39 million. Then let him walk if he must. Case closed.
  14. Is this the only fanbase with even one fan who buries a guy with Jose's statline? Jose for mayor baby!
  15. Jose Abreu is so good it slays me! God I want him to finish his career a well paid White Sox. Moncada is a stud. Nova ... nice job against a horrid team. Sox remain pretty solid home team.
  16. I shouldn't have read the replies on the tweet but one guy was upset at the coach for saying it and said he'd rather be at home with 4 different TVs and not have to wait in line for bathroom and not have to wait in line for beer, etc. It's too bad people don't want to experience live sporting events as much, but folks have to admit it's very expensive (in terms of having a GOOD seat), not so much if u play the secondary market game.
  17. Never read the comments section is the lesson here.
  18. This is the post of the year. Save it. Frame it. Harold Baines I salute you.
  19. That is true about McCann. If he really is that good working with pitchers then it's a no brainer. He's one of the most valuable players on the team in that regard. I wish he could talk all the guys into working fast. You work fast and you've got half of it conquered. Working slow is counterproductive.
  20. Harold Baines is a hall of fame player; glad he got in.
  21. 35 mil a year and one pitch and it could be TJ surgery for a pitcher. These teams have to make what much be tough decisions. I don't feel sorry as the owners caused this long ago, but I can't imagine Jerry changing his philosophy and paying a pitcher that much.
  22. Actually what you said is untrue. You said "nobody gives a rat's ass about Avi" which is technically wrong because I am a human being and I worship him so to speak so somebody does give a rats ass about Avi. I love his game and will never get over the Sox not keeping him for 4 million a year when they acqured all those hacks for big bucks.
  23. I mean the release, sorry. Whatever the Sox did. They didn't want him and TB signed him for 3.5, lol. We could have kept him for pennies instead of the stiffs we acquired.
