2019 Trade Deadline Predictions
My goodness: Why in the world would the Cubs want Jay and Osich? Acquiring Jay should be a fireable offense of any contender's GM.

2019 Trade Deadline Predictions
Are you one of those guys who thinks you have the only right opinion? See if I'm right. They'll trade Colome and McCann and that's it. You think Bummer is special? Let me tell you something. He's the perfect White Sox player. Under control, makes no money. There's absolutely no reason to flip him in the Sox minds. Jay and Nova? You don't agree they should just be DFA'ed? I don't know who made you so mighty you can insult me as you just did. I'll do you a favor. I'm blocking you now so hopefully we won't run into each other's posts anymore. As long as I can figure the ignore function. Adios.

To Sell or Not to Sell?
This sure seems farfetched to me. As el rockin said, this is no way to do it and the Sox won't be doing this nonsense. Flipping him then bringing him back immediately.

Is Giolito an ace?
That never used to matter when guys like Buehrle mowed down the Royals start after start and some of their guys (Chen) mowed us down start after start.

What this organization/ricky's plan was for the all star break
We're starting to play like I thought we would on the road (lose series after series). We've been good at home, better than a normal tank team. I expect a big time nosedive in August and September; we're talking mega losing.

All Star Jose Abreu
Two for 30 would be nice; I'd prefer three so we could shut up the people who want to trade him for at least a full season. How about 3 years, 36 million, take it to the bank and start pushing the narrative he's our team leader, our Walter Payton, our Ernie Banks, our Dick Butkus, our Corey Crawford, our Scottie Pippen. I like this report.

2019 Trade Deadline Predictions
I would assume we'll trade Colome soon. If a team is desperate for a bullpen piece I would think Hahn might make a deal for him that Sox fans think is special. If a team is desperate I'd think we could get 2 of their above average prospects. I think you guys overvalue Bummer. He's the dime a dozen guy (never a highly regarded prospect looking very good right now) who we'll keep. Jose? I mean I worship the guy, but what team desperately needs a first baseman/DH? I haven't studied it but don't most "contenders" have first basemen/DH aplenty? Especially AL teams and Jose isn't known for defense. He could cost an NL team dearly with bad defense in the playoffs. Even those on here desperate to flip Jose can't be addicted to flipping so much they want some bums back for Jose. That's just downright weird. I'm speaking as a flip fanatic which I am not. But speaking for you guys, I'd think realistically you'd want to dump Colome and McCann (does any team have an emergency need at catcher?). And just release Jay and Nova. Virtually nobody wants those guys IMO. And release Yolmer. Nobody will want him and it's time to get the new blood some at bats since we are tanking again. I really feel like the only guys of any "flip" value are Colome (for nothing too special) and possibly McCann (if a team needs a catcher). Surprised the flip people haven't been clamoring to dump McCann (before he comes down to earth, which the flip people like to say). McCann, however, is sort of beloved on here, much moreso than my idol, Abreu for instance.

What this organization/ricky's plan was for the all star break
Our games still do not matter so nobody gets fired. It's kind of silly but we're playing a different brand of baseball. We're playing tank ball. We haven't tried to win for some time now. I don't know how the team played over its head so long. The losses will be piling up now and we can all blame the loss of Timmy. Hyperbole lovers ... how bad is our pitching staff? One of 10 worst in Sox history? Five worst?

What this organization/ricky's plan was for the all star break
I agree. It's like the all star break was the break needed to have us play to original expectations. I firmly expect us to suck the entire second half. Loss of Timmy kills the lineup; our pitching staff is very very very poor. I was going to say one of the worst in team history but then I thought that might be hyperbole.

Sox @ KC - 715pm CT (Giolito v. Junis)
Go ahead. I don't care anymore. I want Jose gone so I don't have to defend him any more. This season has been over a while so it's "wait til next year" again. Again ... it's a miracle this team flirted with .500 with this pitching staff for as long as it did. I guess we can blame the injury to Timmy and loss of any pop in RF with the loss of Avi, but our lineup is nothing to crow about, either.

Jon Jay is the invisible man. Kudos to him for 4-for-4. Excuse me for not caring.

Team is playing horribly on the road.

Sox @ KC - 715pm CT (Giolito v. Junis)
I'm surprised he's done this well. It has to be difficult concentrating at the plate when you play for a team that on paper has no shot of making the playoffs because of a flawed roster. I hope we trade him so I don't have to hear this kind of stuff about my favorite Sox.

Sox @ KC - 715pm CT (Giolito v. Junis)
We're finally playing to our roster. Hard to believe we hovered near .500 for so long with this pitching staff and so many automatic outs. That said ... it's funny we play Central teams so many times that it's a different Sox and Royals team each time. This is a pathetic Sox team that will get swept. Other times we play KC we are a confident team on fire and win the series. My suggestion is the way we're playing on the road, bet the house the rest of the season on us to lose road games as well as taking the under. Hahn gets his way. He'll be flipping like a burger cooker the next few weeks.

The rumors were (partially) true: Collins to AAA
Now that I see Collins looked mad at the airport, this is starting to steam me. He gets brought up and hardly plays at all then they acquire Reed for no good reason except the Sox had to have had Reed on their trade radar at some point in the tank/rebuild. Collins homered in his first at bat, didn't he? Instead of trying to ride that, they hardly play him at all. In another tank season, Sox should have had him get a couple months worth of at bats. He could split time with McCann and that'd be reasonable. Just release Beef or trade him for peanuts.

Poor Collins. He was mishandled terribly in this first stint in the bigs. He needed regular at bats.

Colome remains with White Sox, who always had ample interest in him
Yes hopefully the Heyward thing was just one poster on here. Cause I might point out Avi woulda fit in nicely this season in RF and we don't need Heyward when we coulda kept Avi. Steer clear of Heyward. No reason to pay that guy (here I am trying to save Jerry "moneybags" Reinsdorf money again).

Harold Baines HOFer
I love Harold Baines. Sox fans should celebrate all week! Good job Harold!

Charlie Tilson is loveable but close to worthless in terms of trade value. I mean, cmon. We love Charlie but he is just a tad better than John Jay.

I'm surprised nobody has wondered if vilehoopster is greg. His opinions are just like mine. I love vile!

Luis Robert kills it in his first game in AAA
Sure there is. Some fans still believe in winning above everything. I'd rather win meaningless games in September even if a better draft pick is at stake. It's easy to justify my position. I want my team to win any and every game it plays. Case closed.

Luis Robert kills it in his first game in AAA
Unfortunately (for anti tankers like me) attendance doesn't matter to owners anymore. They only care about TV revenue and MLB revenue accorded to all teams.

Luis Robert kills it in his first game in AAA
Unfortunately, time really flies and never stands still (as in 2005 lasting forever). I was thinking about that as I was driving in the car. In living here, I can tell you there was a ton of excitement here for those 4 1/2 years of Royals excellence but alas time does not stand still and the Royals again are unpopular and it's all Chiefs all the time. Unlike Sox fans, Royals fans never talk about flipping their rare good players (Whit, Soler) and talk of tank/rebuild is really not on the fans' minds. They just lose all interest. I think it's kind of a shame that the Royals are destined to suck the next 8 years or so in the hopes of again acquiring enough talent in the draft to make a run or two in the postseason. I like the old way of the Sox always being good even though they ultimately would fall short the last six weeks of most all seasons. I guess it's worth it to Royals fans as they wanted a WS title in their lifetimes and got one, but it seems weird to me you have to wait 8-10 years of your life for your team to get competitive again. I'm serious though. If Soler was a White Sox with his 25 homers we'd be talking incessantly about flipping him. And oh boy we'd want to flip Whit. Next unread topic Luis Robert

Sunday Game Thread
I was thinking about that today before the game knowing we were going to lose again. The A's pretty much always have a better roster than us and just as importantly don't sleepwalk against the Sox. They realize all Ws count the same and the wins they automatically rack up against us help them a lot in the big picture of pennant races. But Lip Man is right. They do always have a better product.
