Sounds good to me. Having the lay of the land is good in the business world. Sounds like a fine deal.
  2. U think it's because it's been remade so many times? Wasn't that No. 3 A Star is Born? I respect your take on Cooper's talent.
  3. OMG. He as I recall was really a disaster in the short time he was with the team.
  4. I do agree with that. People that love the Sox should inherently be friends, not enemies.
  5. One positive is they haven't brought up Paulo Orlando yet. That's going to be a fun day if Jay and Orlando are in the same lineup.
  6. That's a pretty good point. I didn't think about that about why fast guys aren't stealing bases, but you probably are right. Not cool and could pull a hammy on the plant and take-off.
  7. It kind of slays me the usual negative reax when players speak out. Not saying it's happened here except one poster, but for some reason fans tend to blast guys who rip the front office. Remember when George Bell complained DURING THE PLAYOFFS about playing time? That was an all time joke.
  8. Wasn't Ynoa the guy who couldn't throw a strike? He was a real gem.
  9. Jack, what's your take on Bummer? Nobody's really commented on my repetitive take that Bummer will NOT be dealt. He's a perfect White Sox to the front office right now. Young, very cheap and with team control for a long time. There's no way in hell they'll flip him. I thought this was one of my better takes.
  10. Advanced metrics led to the age of tanking which I am violently opposed to. You still shouldn't call people names. This is no longer a political forum.
  11. I haven't been watching. I'm assuming he's been letting some grounders to his left escape down the line and being buffoon-ish on some pop ups. He's usually OK to his right and fair on digs.

I will give Hahn credit for not boasting much when we hit .500 that one day and were a game or two behind for so long. It's like he knew he better shut up cause this was coming and our descent to crap was just a matter of time with this roster. And to be fair some injuries.

The Sox have done something I didn't think possible. Make me not care. I would think if I don't care (rabid fan) then hundreds of thousands of people don't care. I realize unabashed winning suddenly will make people care (Sox hope so) in this day and age of one-minute attention spans and front-running. Yet ... Fathom would tell you that losing 4 straight to the KC Royals in past years would have sent me over the deep end, screaming, probably getting banned on here. Now? Only think I'm trying to do now is find out what Ned Yost said about NASA during this series. It's getting a lot of play. How can you care when a guy named Detweiler is starting and Covey the first reliever? And a lineup that includes Cordell, Jay, Goins, Reed and Castillo. WOW!
  14. Good. 2023 seems a long ways away to Greg. I wanna win.
  15. Good. I now want him gone. Sick of defending him on here and he deserves better.
  16. You shouldn't insult posters by saying peanut brain, especially when I am like el rockin and never criticize posters intellect, etc. I guess you got me with those stats. Although .265 and .273 the last two years I'd argue is pretty close to the .293, .290. Just a handful of hits here and there. I happen to think he's a productive player especially considering the crap team he's on. Some of you don't think athletes have emotions. I'd think it'd be difficult to produce when you generally have no protection in the lineup (I love Eloy) and have such a losing mentality. I think he's productive no matter what, but especially for a team in its tank years. But at the risk of greg-haters saying I don't read posts I will acknowledge your point and say you have a point here as expressed by the traditional stats you listed.
  17. At the risk of getting yelled at for not looking it up, how has Duke been since we traded him to St. Looie? I was no big Zack Duke guy.
  18. When healthy, the Sox have 5-7 pretty good players/pitchers. Is it this difficult? You take the 5-7 good players and sign free agents and build a competitive team. This waiting around is pretty annoying. We already got some good players and now some on here are talking 2023 before we are good? Or 2022? If this is so ... don't you agree it won't be healthy having our studs lose so many games? Moncada will feel like some sort of jinx/failure if the team blows in 2020, 2021 and 2022. How does this pertain to this thread? Well in the first half we had 5-7 players play so well we won a lotta games.
  19. He got his chance and failed. He's done. Next. The Zack Duke for Charlie Tilson trade will go down as blah.
  20. I would buy a beer to anybody who would examine all the teams in the AL and use all your advanced stats and give me a list of all the players on each team you deem productive and/or worth keeping even 2 more seasons. Steep decline, huh? A lot of traditional stat people would disagree and said he had a fine first half. Are these first 7 games of the second half proof of his sudden steep decline?
  21. Probably the first time I've ever agreed with one of Kyyle23's posts. Jose made the all star team again but that matters not to most advanced stat lovers.
  22. I don't understand why you would want him to shut up. He's a competitor and actually wants to win, not this tank b.s. Plus if he has to hear the trade rumors all the time, he might as well go out in a blaze of glory. Look ... he plays for one of the worst organizations in all of sports. A major market team claiming poor. I applaud him. keep talkin Jose. If the media hasn't been so decimated by layoffs, etc., we would have been having some controversial stories about the White Sox long ago. Just my take.
  23. Do smart baseball people really think McCann is going to bring the Sox a haul? Let's hear specifics. Do any teams need immediate help at catcher? To me it seems the haul received for McCann will not be that heavy. I think the only tradeable guys to receive a prospect or two that could someday be useful are McCann and Colome.
  24. I know what you mean but at least tell me you are furious at them for paying Alonso what they did and that hack pitcher from the Pirates Nova and Jon Jay. It seems to me our fans just love saving Jerry money so he can continue to live the rich life. Because of their ill regard for money I want Jose to get as much cash as he can from our ill guided front office and owner.
  25. It would kind be kind of neat for the Sox to try a proven veteran manager like Girardi. I'd love an outspoken baseball man who wants to win take over and blast the players in the press and demand victories and accountability. Oh if we could have Francona or Girardi or LaRussa or somebody who would kick some butt.
