  1. Fulmer was eighth overall pick in 2015 draft. Glad I didn't pay attention to that draft. Poor guy doesn't seem to have what it takes.
  2. Just another lousy player gone. Even though Jay is hitting fairly well I'd like to see him vamoose soon along with some others.
  3. Me too, but that brings up a discussion of tanking. I'm disgusted we've tried to have lousy teams the last few years yet Jerry still gets the same amount of profit/money. The front office faces no repercussions for a pathetic team/payroll.
  4. Somebody said there was a shift on Eloy the other day. Geez, if they already know where he's going to hit it, my gosh. You know, outlawing shifts I don't think would harm the integrity of the game. We need a strong commissioner to figure some things out. I mean it's common sense if one guy is standing at the traditional shortstop position and the rest of the players are standing on the right side of the infield and outfield to combat a lefthanded hitter, you've got to bunt or tap the ball to beat the shift. If players won't do that, they need to outlaw the shift.
  5. I've said many times I worship him in a non religious way. I either need a spokesperson or I need to go away. Peeps hate my views.
  6. Answers. a.) I don't care about top 100 prospects. I'm jaded to prospects even though I love Eloy, Robert and Moncada and like Cease. b.) I don't care about acquiring a pitcher. Sign 2 in the offseason. c.) I would like Jose to lead a team to a WS title. d.) We're not signing Abreu in the offseason if he leaves. Geez. e.) I love Abreu. So shoot me.
  7. People need to calm down lest this thread get locked. Of course I don't want to trade Jose for a top 100 prospect. We already have tons of prospects ready to cover almost every position. I wish the Abreu lovers on this board would join me and speak up. It grows wearisome to fight for Jose this much. He's an all star, folks. Not a demon.
  8. I despised Dunn. the man hit .159 in 2011. That's right, .159. The next year he hit .204 with 222 strikeouts. Was I supposed to fall in love with him? The year he hit .159 he had 11 home runs.
  9. Then how the hell did he make the all star team? Are you smarter than all of baseball that picked him? Geez. It's like I'm trying to defend Txxxp here the way some people are jumping on me. I'm praising Jose Abreu for gawdsakes not some demon. What is the problem people have with Jose?? On a scale of 1 to 10 I'm at a 9 in terms of loving him. You guys are at a 1 or 2.
  10. Just out of curiosity when he steps to the plate do you start screaming at the TV? The hate for Jose is weird. It's just a sport, a game. Did he kick your dog?
  11. Losing all four to KC was quite bad. I think a lot of us would have felt better, at least me, if after game four Ricky got fired or Hahn or Jerry announced a plan to sell the team. Just my take. I personally think we're going to continue to play this bad the rest of the way. The first half success is hard to explain. I think maybe Gio's success carried over a bit to our overall play. Right now, pretty much the whole team blows and Gio is average of late. I do concede it might be all TA's absence. Maybe like Stone said he's that important.
  12. Can't argue with you. All those players are definitely no good, many so bad it's laughable.
  13. It's almost like some of u peeps want Jose to go oh-fer every single day to justify how he's no good. I really don't get it. On a team with so many baseball bums (in terms of performance not personality) Abreu actually is an all star. All I can do is shake my head and remind myself that poll on the board shows the overwhelming majority of fans on here like Jose. I don't know why you think it's odd some people are sentimental about Jose. Not everybody likes tanking and losing every year and he's actually been an all star caliber player. Oh well, Jose is kicking butt in the 2 polls so Sox fans on here do love him, many are just silent. I, of course, worship him in a baseball sense, not religious.
  14. Francona is such a stud. After Bauer's meltdown in which he threw the ball from the mound over the center field fence Sunday, Francona was caught screaming "what the fxxk is wrong with you?' And he pointed to the dugout for Bauer to get the hell off the mound. I always liked Francona. Wish he was our skipper. Maybe he'd kick some bleep with all this losing.
  15. He was the bad Phil Humber. The good Phil Humber was Buehrle-esque from the right side.
  16. Lot of people can't take the insanity of Twitter. I've heard Howard Stern say he was done with it quickly. It's a great idea but has added to the hatred of people for each other in our great country. Too easy to blast peeps.
  17. We need a do-over on the last 8 years and get owners and GMs to forget tanking ever existed as an idea. Oh if I were commish would I be penalizing teams for tanking.
  18. Wait til next year.
  19. Man, you took off early. Must really have been disgusting to watch.
  20. Anybody booing? Embarrassing a small market team like Minnie owns the Sox in its own park and that the Sox employ so many lousy players/pitchers.
  21. One definitely needs to make sure he's not pitching before you buy tickets and parking. Same with Detweiler and sometimes Nova. No fun to watch games you have no shot of winning.
  22. Love your posts on this topic, Fan O'Faust. Abreu is one of my all time faves. Once the team gets buried I really don't care much about any player's stats the rest of the way. I'd like Abreu to keep hitting like first half Jose of course but in reality it means nothing. He's still a nice player. The team is what blows. Not Jose A.
  23. Not many young ballplayers today will sniff the Hall of Fame. Pitchers have surgeries a lot more and wins and losses mean nothing anymore. There will be so little to judge them on compared to the guys already in there and their stats.
