White Sox ratings: up 40% on TV and streaming up over 100%
I said most baseball fans are older as Millennials and Gen X ignore the sport and the oldies don't want to play the secondary market game or the purchase tickets on the phone game. Thus the lack of attendance, not worth it. They look at the cost of the ticket and it's too high (for good seats). Nobody wants a lousy seat unless the team is a pennant winner. Big screen HD TV, no lines. They might suck it up and go to one game a year. Or two.

Colome remains with White Sox, who always had ample interest in him
Do you realize there are new wave trade-happy fans who actively would be glad to trade Bummer, Colome and after last night Herrera, as well as Abreu, McCann Alonso (obviously he's worth nothing) and Leury all in the name of flipping. That could re-stack the system with prospects to develop and talk about.

Sox vs. Yankees - 6/13 7:10pm
This team is one under .500. A team with one starting pitcher, a below average bullpen, 4-5 automatic outs in the lineup including Alonso. I am of the opinion it's still going to fall apart, but as of this moment, one under .500 with this roster ... wow. Ricky deserves some money for this. p.s. I should give Lopez some credit for a few good starts and Colome a bit more credit than I have.

What options does Renteria have with Yonder Alonso?
Wow. Why in the heck would any team want those 3 players you mentioned? Their fanbase would erupt in anger.

Sox vs. Yankees - 6/13 7:10pm
Good job by Bummer. No talk of flipping him. He's too young. This was another game where Ricky looks like manager of the year. With all those holes in the lineup, we beat the Yankees ane are one below .500. Team is overachieving to this point. Nice home run by Tim.

Rondon with a big league play. He threw that ball mighty hard to Jose.

Hope for the reverse jinx, but I am almost 99 percent sure Bummer is incapable of finishing this off.

Why can't Herrera pitch the ninth? Am I missing something here? He was nasty tonight.

Sox vs. Yankees - 6/13 7:10pm
Any trade/rebuild/tank people in the thread? We gonna talk about flipping Herrera soon? He's useful again and still can throw 98ish.

White Sox ratings: up 40% on TV and streaming up over 100%
Frankly I'm surprised. I wonder if it has a lot to do with cost of actually attending a game? People realize they can't really afford to go to a game or maybe 1-2 a season and instead have become accustomed to watching on big screen HD TV? (I realize you can get tix in the nosebleeds for cheap and can do the secondary market thing for cheap, but baseball fans are old and they aren't the type of folks to be playing the secondary market for tix. Just a thought. I'm a little surprised more fans are tuning in. The team is a bit better but still overall a noncontender.

A fair and balanced soliloquy about Jose Abreu, by ron
Oops as longtimers will tell u, I loved Konerko as well.

A fair and balanced soliloquy about Jose Abreu, by ron
We just have to accept the fact he's not a popular player. He should be one of Sox fans' all-time faves but he isn't. Vaughn is the new darling, the one to replace Abreu at 1B with somebody not named Abreu DHing in the future. If Hahn wants to trade him he might as well. He has the fans' blessing to dump him for a good prospect.

Abreu has 52 RBI and 16 HRs. I realize these stats mean nothing nowadays but they should. His production is better than Machado for gosh sakes. I'm a little surprised you think he's only "good for the clubhouse." Thought you were more fair than that.

A fair and balanced soliloquy about Jose Abreu, by ron
Man. It's like the only topics on the board are flipping Colome and Abreu's future with the team. I guess until we finally deal Abreu people will keep talking about why we should get rid of Abreu. Sports is so weird in how some guys are judged differently than others. Abreu is raking in RBIs again this year and has produced year after year for a horseshit team. It's not easy to perform well when 2/3 of your games mean nothing. Sad we dislike some of our own so much.

why didn't u notice?

And that's a Eloy Jimenez Coming Out Party White Sox Winner
Isn't Abreu a free agent after this year? If anybody wants him they'll just wait and sign him.

Correct. It's weird but the boomers, who were the last generation to be treated "poorly" by their parents (by that I mean no praise from parents, lot of criticism, not going to many if any of their extracurricular events, always siding with teachers not their precious kids, actually spanking and disciplining, being anything but a 'friend' to their kiddies) are the first generation to coddle their kids and try to be friends with them, coddle them, tell 'em they are special, get em participation trophies, go to ALL of their events, not let them be kids at all. And it's been just as bad or worse in the generations since. Kids are snowflakes; good luck to them when they hit the working world, which has NOT CHANGED much at all. In the working world, you still have very mean, cruel bosses and a very mean environment (do your job and be glad you have a job). Should be interesting to see if it ever changes when the millenials and Xers are in charge someday. But u are right the boomers started this. That said ... Eloy mania baby! My Hahn comment is simple and direct. If you are able to acquire somebody THIS man mountainish, this special, you do not lose your job. If Eloy stays healthy (please), he like I said is Dave Winfield times two or three. That good.

The answer is no for reasons I've stated. The rebuild/tanking and acquiring of unknown players is too sexy. Because of injuries to prospects, it continues in a never-ending loop of rebuilding for many many years. Wait til next year ....
-

I think there's more psychology to it than that. When you are a rebuilding/tanking person, your team has a built in excuse for losing. When friends mock your team you can say, 'Ha, we are trying to lose to get a good draft pick.' There is a safety net mentally in your team trying to lose for draft picks. Wait til next year is a powerful mantra. And when you are trying to lose ... there's no pressure on you to care about your team fighting and clawing its way to a pennant. No games matter. Just the draft pick. I think it's mental, folks. Tanking gives a fan the right to not sweat out the day to day battles of a marathon season. And then the plan is to ultimately have a team so good you just cruise to the pennant. Hard work not needed. Talent prevailing.

You make a trade like that ... you never lose your job. They don't make hitters like Eloy often. Cubs had rocks in their heads to trade that guy.

Eloy is special. Can you imagine him in the old Comiskey Park? Roof shots. He'd hit homers to that nook in right center that only Dick Allen reached. Eloy Eloy Eloy. Hahn will be Sox GM forever cause he brought Eloy to the south side. Now to all the rebuild/tank fanatics. It's time NOW to start building on superstar Eloy and stars Moncada, Timmy and Abreu and Gio and start doing the tinkering necessary to start DOMINATING THIS WEAK bleep DIVISION!!!! We can start winning now with the proper acquistions. But nooooooo .... we're talking about trading Colome, Abreu, McCann, Alonso (OK he should go) just so we can start sucking eggs and get a high draft pick AGAIN. JUST.RIDE.ELOY.TO.THE.TOP starting NOW!!!! Thank you and remember, Hahn is here forever cause he brought this star to the South Side. He is Dave Winfield times three folks.

Sox vs Nats - 6/11/19 7:10pm
I see you conveniently ignored the homer totals.

Sox vs Nats - 6/11/19 7:10pm
Abreu has 52 RBI; Machado 33; Abreu has scored 31 runs to Machado 30; Abreu has 16 HR, Machado 10.

Sox vs Nats - 6/11/19 7:10pm
What a pathetic outing by Bummer.

Sox vs Nats - 6/11/19 7:10pm
Abreu is close to becoming Avi in terms of a significant number of fans not liking him.
