June 14, 20196 yr Greg has been saying that Ricky deserves manager of the year for the record he has led this ballclub to. They are nearly .500 with a terrible starting staff and some very bad players like Alonso, Wellington. Do you agree with @greg775? Does Ricky deserve manager of the year? June 14, 20196 yr Baldelli is already a lock if the Twins win the division going away. Boone and Cash will be 2nd and 3rd probably.
June 14, 20196 yr I’m a big Ron fan, but this is trolling at it’s finest. Renteria is a terrible manager, if the team is overachieving it’s not because of him.
June 14, 20196 yr Absolutely, yes. If he doesn't win it unanimously, something's fishy. edit- this was sarcasm by the way Edited June 15, 20196 yr by Jose Abreu
June 14, 20196 yr Granted teams that win the titles usually get manager of the year. Sometimes, however, overachieving teams' managers are considered. As of today, one game under .500, Renteria has as much claim to the award as anybody. One game under .500? With this team that has a ton of holes offensively, defensively and both in starting pitching and bullpen. Maybe not manager of the year considering the Twins are rolling and other teams are winning divisions, but .... you cannot deny one game under .500 for this team gets Ricky a lotta votes. At least grade his performance. He gets a firm, solid A from greg at this time. Could change if we revert to expectations.
June 14, 20196 yr You could argue this team should be a few games over .500 already if it wasn't for dumb managerial decisions he's made.

Some people are just nervous-type guys who look at things on the micro level only. This causes this nervous guy to want to blame and scold and most importantly, MAKE A CHANGE! Hold them accountable! You see this in politics a lot now in your Facebook feed. But when you take a macro look, shit’s lookin good and probably better than it’s been in a long time. Edited June 14, 20196 yr by Jerksticks
June 14, 20196 yr So, in a space of 2 weeks, we've gone from two-thirds of the people thinking that Renteria is the worst Sox manager EVER, that's EVER. Now, some think he should be manager of the year. In-friggin'-credible!!!

June 14, 20196 yr Let's see how close to .500 the Sox are at the end of the season. If they are, he should get some votes but no he is not Manager of the Year barring a miracle.
June 14, 20196 yr Author You all poke fun, but there's already been two people giving support to the idea. Not saying I completely agree, but one could make an argument
June 15, 20196 yr Lmfao. Ricky is much closer to being fired than Manager of the year Edited June 15, 20196 yr by Jack Parkman

There still are people who believe the Earth is flat. They can make an argument for it all they want, but regardless they're still wrong. Edited June 15, 20196 yr by Sleepy Harold

June 15, 20196 yr So, we're .500 but I mean, we're still not on the level of "your manager is manager of the year"

June 15, 20196 yr I'm not taking the bait on this thread. When we win the World Series Ricky will be manager of the year Boyz!
