Former Sox updates (Avi, etc)
Avi hustling his ass around the bases tonight. .284, 10 HR, 23 RBI. Guess Greg is not a bad judge of talent after all. It is simply a disgrace that Avi Garcia is not patrolling RF for the Sox this season. And yes his bat would have helped this lineup. Ridiculous that fans despised him so. On a team with so many busts, Avi was the least of our problems. Hail Avi Baby!!

Seby Zavala promoted to Chicago; Castillo to IL
It depends on the player. If he's Avi Garcia we judge him early, when we want to, and we deem him disposable. If he's one of the beloved guys who are supposed to be the cornerstone or even roster pieces of the rebuild, we give them all the time in the world. Mr. Rutherford, Madrigal, Collins, Soto (is he still with the Sox), please take all the time u need.

12th round draft pick; is Seby any good?

Embrace The Tank!!!
Cleveland has yet to win it all and they did the tank thing. Minnie might yet get hot in the postseason.

Embrace The Tank!!!
Some Sox fans are always going to be happy because they love the modern era of tank/rebuild and they love the draft. Case closed IMO. In the past I've maintained we "might" have been just as good keeping Q and Sale and Eaton and spending some big bucks to pull a repeat of 05. Caveat: I have the belief we won all 3 trades and they are fine. I just don't see this tank/rebuild thing working better than my way. Remember, our division SUCKS. It doesn't take much to start winning it.

Wow
Madrigal's twin brother is a pitcher at St. Marys. I would draft him. One of the two is bound to work out. Odds, baby; odds.

May 27 Sox-Royals 1:10 PM GRF
When I was a kid, my grandpa took me to a ton of Cubs games because the family consisted mostly of Sox fans and nobody else would go with him. At the exact same time, we had Sox season tix so my dad took me to a ton of Sox games. I'm not sure how this happened, but even though I thoroughly enjoyed going to both, I only cared about the Sox. Attending Cub games was fun enough, watching MLB and being in an MLB ballpark and enjoying my grandfather buying me stuff. I only cared about the Sox results however. I pretended for him to want the Cubs to win but didn't really care. My poor grandfather. Once we moved to the suburbs (he moved there also as his wife died) he was surrounded by Sox fans and I got older and went to Sox games with my own friends. Poor gramps. I shoulda kept going to some Cub games with him, but kids can be kinda selfish. Young and dumb.

Wow
What I mean by meaningless is we're playing for nothing in terms of possible postseason. To have that be the case in late May is very very sad. I realize Eloy, Yoan, Timmy and Gio have to continue to develop but frankly nobody else need bother. Even Abreu ... I'm getting a sneaky feeling Sox aren't gonna pay him nuff and he'll be dealt, too. I'm thankful I was busy this weekend and didn't get to see any of that series. I despise Minnie and that would have been bad for my demeanor.

Wow
Good point Jack. I agree with your three.

Wow
Shows you how much we'd overachieved the first six weeks. The losses are gonna be coming fast and furious in June and July and August. Season already is over except for meaningless at bats for our younger hitters and meaningless innings for our pitchers.

Embrace The Tank!!!
To those who live in Chicago ... are people embracing the tank? Are the Sox generating any buzz in the local sports scene? Are they relegated to 10 seconds on the sportscasts or popular? Has the team finally become an afterthought, almost like a minor league team compared to the Cubs?

ABREU'S FUTURE WITH SOX
I want to sit next to you when I come in for a couple games this summer. You are my kind of fan. I endorse this post 1000 percent! Thank u sir.

Embrace The Tank!!!
The "wait til next year" mantra grows old. Never thought I'd be of a fan of the team that every May can have customers utter, "Wait til next year." Of course I'm not talking about you, you are going the 2022 route. I wish it was like the old days when attendance mattered to the bottom line. Sox could not afford to do this b.s. tank crap in the past. Attendance would have been under 10,000 per game and the team would have had to move.

5/26- Sox at Twins, 1:10, NBCSC
Rebuilding on the fly is the job of a GOOD front office.

5/26- Sox at Twins, 1:10, NBCSC
Hmmm how did this happen? I can't find the post to copy and paste, but somebody on here said the Sox roster in 2019 compared favorably to Minnesota's. I guess Minnie knows how to do the tank/rebuild dance better than the White Sox. BTW, greg predicts a fight in the Royals series. There were some hit batsmen vs. KC earlier and all they care about is beating/fighting the Sox. We.Shall.See.

That's exactly what they should have done! Those were 3 damn fine trades. That's ALL Hahn and Kenny have done well. They can trade. But we have to embrace the tank until it's deemed that wave of players we got are "ready."

I forgot some teams acquire temporary free agents with the idea of winning. We add Alonso, Jay, that pitcher we've already cut in order to feed the tank.

Won/loss record is meaningless in the advanced stat era, sir.

Smartest move ever! Unless u just wanted to enjoy the nightlife.

Wowsie. That was a statement series if there ever was one. Let the tank season commence. Typical Sox, out of it just as the kids get out of school. Not that that's my concern. Hopefully crowd numbers will be so miniscule all season. We overachieved for a good while. Hope Ricky and Hahn can motivate the young stars of the future to work on their games despite being out of the race very early again.

Sox acquire Alex Colome For Narvaez
Yet in this world of tanking this is seen as a very important thing. Those who like the tank/rebuild just love flipping players. The minute we got Herrera and Colome people were salivating about flipping them at the break. In Greg's world, you go ahead and trade Q and Sale and Eaton and acquire some damn fine prospects (as we did) and that's it as far as worrying about losing. Then you spend some money and start winning the free agent wars the minute Eloy and Yoan and Timmy are ready for the bigs! They did a nice job of acquiring stars with those 3 trades. That's all the rebuilding moves you needed. After that, free agency baby!!!

Dallas Keuchel signs one year deal with Braves
Hopefully not OK with the fans. I hope our attendance plummets and our TV ratings suck.

Game Thread : Sox (Banuelos) @Twins (Gibson) 05/25/19
I preface this by saying Moncada, Timmy and Eloy will all be stars, maybe even all stars this year, but I have pointed out to those who love tanking and the draft, that sometimes the fact our team blows can affect performance. Remember our young guys are thrust into meaningless baseball games and I'd think on many occasions they just go through the motions. I mean why draw a walk the nights our team blows chunks? I can see why several at bats would be wasted hacking at everything, trying to hit the ball a mile. What good is drawing a walk or battling in an 8-1 rout??

Game Thread : Sox (Banuelos) @Twins (Gibson) 05/25/19
I'll read the thread after posting this. Just caught up on the game/box score. Wow, if there was ever any question we're still tanking, just look at tonight's game. We pretty much conceded it by pitching the guys we pitched. And on the nights we lose, our lineup still looks so flawed. I do think Ricky has done about the best anybody could do with what he's been given to work with. Minnesota really spanked the Sox tonight. Boring, horrific outing for Chicago. Now I'll read the thread! Go Sox! Tornadoes go away!

Is Ricky the worst manager in White Sox history?
This is the difference between you and me. 100 percent difference. I disagree with everything you say here. It's all minutia. Who cares about the LaRoche saga? The guy was a horrific hitter by the time we got him and this sped up his leaving which was a blessing. Who cares if the kid shook up the locker room? Not me. Who cares if Sale cut up the jerseys? Many of you worry and rightly so about pitchers getting injured. Sale was mighty uncomfortable in those monstrocity uniforms. he said he didn't want to pitch in them. They did it anyway. he cut them up. I consider it hilarious and proper. Who cares??? This is a multi million dollar organization. Get out a new box of uniforms. Sale was a superstar for gosh sakes. Finally you probably also hate Ozzie for "quitting on the team." Again who cares?? The team was done; Ozzie was finished as a Sox. He sped the process. Big deal. I'm more concerned about the tank era (though I do love Eloy, Moncada, Timmy).
