  1. Yet so many fans hate rushing players. Seems to me a player is only popular from 23 to 28. Under 23 he's been rushed big time. Over 28, yawn, do not sign him to a long term deal! (Sox inexplicably signed some old guys this year in Alonso, Jay and McCann, 29 in June). Pitchers can go much longer of course. Nobody minds a 35 year old pitcher if he's been relatively healthy.
  2. Let's just assume McCann is Johnny Bench reincarnated. Play him all but one day a week. Seems like a smart ballplayer too. Hit 'em where they ain't.
  3. Yonder snapping out of his slump? That would help this team a lot.
  4. Glad to see Guerrero playing in big at age 20 and Tatis at age 20. Might start a trend in letting young guys play in the bigs much much earlier than they do now? Rush them? I say play them (at 20, 21, 22).
  5. Interesting. Man he's gonna be one, furious guy if the Sox stop playing him or cut him. I wouldn't want to be the one to tell him.
  6. Am I missing something? He makes 9 mill in 2020. How can they cut him if that's the case? Teams have money to burn I guess. Yonder drew 9 walks in Sox's first six games. Since then he's had 10 walks in 30 games. He's a player going up there hitting into the shift time after time. One has to wonder if playing on a wretched team affects his desire to walk. Just hack away.
  7. He had some pretty vicious posts for a while there. Certainly he was put on vacation, right? (I have no knowledge either way, just figured as somebody who has been suspended a couple times).
  8. I wouldn't say nothing. Isn't McCann a 4 million dollar guy? Tilson isn't making anything I'd guess.

How can you say that? This guy is much better than Ken.
  10. Great win. I give credit when it's due. Hahn looks good today with Nova and McCann and Tilson. Keep it up, please. I am in a good mood when the Sox win.
  11. Rutherford is only 22. You can't hit much worse than he has through his first 100 at bats this season, though. He's shown no power in his career so far as well. Right now I'm on the Tilson bandwagon. Hope he keeps hitting even if they are singles.
  12. Just saw the box score and watched the highlights. McCann loves that opposite field. Beautiful. Alonso is worthless in the shift era. Keep pulling the ball to second, Yonder. Glad to see a lot of guys do well. Nova has battled back after the game where it appeared he should be DFA. I guess Hahn deserves credit for McCann. I wish all hitters would have his current approach. You don't have to pull everything. Just think if Tilson can stay healthy. He should play every day during this tank season and see if he's a regular. He's off to a nice start. Would be neat if he and McCann hit all year.
  13. I'm sick of trade talk. Sick of tanking. The Sixers-Raptors game seven is huge for the tank people. No team has tanked more than Philly to rebuild. If they can't even win this round, one big lol at tanking. Tanking does not always work, folks. A good general manager in baseball can keep the team competitive without tanking. Get a very good manager (which we don't believe in doing), make smart draft picks even if they are, heaven forbid, as low as No. 15 in round one for your first pick, make smart acquisitions and you stay on top. I have no idea how the Sox are worth one billion dollars, but they are, and Jerry and the partners are laughing so hard all the way to the bank. Be objective. Since '05, the Sox front office has made so many bad trades, so many bad draft picks, so many dumb moves with managers ... and yet nobody has been fired in the front office. It is insane. And fans? We talk about trading one consistently good player, Abreu, over and over, year after year. We deserve what we get ... players like Yonder Alonso and John Jay and the great Adam LaRoche.
  14. If he is a hands on owner, I hope he screams at Hahn and KW every day for acquiring guys like Alonso and Jay and all those hacks on the mound. And Wellington, etc. How could JR not rip Hahn a new one daily if indeed he calls Hahn all the time?
  15. Our minor league rosters must need bodies. Paulo Orlando makes me very mad/sad. Don't wanna see him on the big league team, nor John Jay.
  16. Pissed at the result, I just did my semi regular search of Harper, Machado and Avi. All are doing OK, nothing special. Machado has eight homers; Avi five. Avi's still better hitter than most guys on our wretched team after about 120 at bats.
  17. Love our White Sox. Many teams play to win divisions. The Sox play for one day on the calendar, draft day.
  18. Expected result. We don't win at Toronto. Not with this roster.
  19. It seemed like by the end he was enjoying it. He certainly wanted to continue on, but the team's performance dictated he was finished.
  20. That is the post of the year, maybe the decade! Very perceptive and it makes total sense to do what you say. Madrigal went to college; Robert is ready and Collins is more than ready. If they hit .040, big deal. No reason to not let them sink or swim. People scoff at baseball's unwritten rules. A front office unwritten rule is (still) to never rush a guy. I am saying players don't need all this minor league seasoning. I mean you said it all. ... Yonder LOL; Yolmer LOL and Wellington LOL. Bring up the kids. It matters not if they hit .120. (I'm not that mad but kind of upset we win the first two then only split the series). Would be nice to continue to split series on the road, though. If we do that we could sniff .480 this season.
  21. I loved Alonso the first two weeks as well. I tend to dislike players who hit into shifts and he does that a lot.
  22. I see Soria is 0-2 with no saves this season. 5.51 ERA. So his traditional stats suck.
  23. Oh well you can't be mad. There's no way in hell the Chicago White Sox of the tank era could win the first 3 of a series in Cleveland. Something wacky would have had to happen.
  24. Thanks for the high strike, ump. Oops base hit.
