  1. I was getting around to it. Sometimes I wonder if posters want to hear my opinion if they've heard it before so I try to stifle. Thing is, I never know if anybody reads what I say since I am pretty much despised so it's tough for me to make a call on whether I should post or not. As far as Abreu, I feel the same way about him as Paulie: In my mind, both are lifetime White Sox. I want to keep Jose all the way til he can't hit anymore. I felt the same way about Paulie. It's not Jose's fault that the team has been abysmal with him on the team. Jose like Paulie has proven himself to me, thus I would never want him to be traded. I want him to retire a White Sox just as I did Paulie. BTW there's nobody else on our team I feel fan loyalty to at this point. That's kind of sad the team is at the point almost everybody has to prove themselves. We used to have a few veterans. Summary: Paulie A-plus career in my mind; Abreu B-plus career in my mind but I love both equally and do not wanna see Abreu play elsewhere.
  2. This is about a worst case scenario, him getting hurt already. Oh well, probably best to just shut up and forget about him for 6 weeks. Hopefully that was a fluke injury and he'll be healthy the rest of his career.
  3. Nice win. When you start winning home games like a team is supposed to do, you start to become respectable.
  4. My fave Avi must be slumping of late. He's down to .250; 10 RBI, four homers. Like I said, this means he must have stunk of late. His career shows how hard it is to excel at baseball. He's got some tools but has yet to break through as a consistent star. Had the magical BA two years ago.
  5. I'm so sick of some Sox fans wanting to dump our veteran players who have been here a while. it's the reason I wanted to keep Avi and give him the benefit of the doubt for a while. Avi wasn't blocking anybody. It remains to be seen if this tank/rebuild thing will work. It would be nice to have a veteran around who has been through the dog years like Abreu. Just cause Eloy seems a natural for DH/1B doesn't mean we should dump Abreu. LF isn't the hardest position. Eloy is very young. He might want to work on his defense so he can play in the field. It must be awful being a big league DH when you are young. He's one of the few Sox who have been Sox for a while who are worth a darn. I always laugh at comments about how he's about to get "expensive." If Abreu is so nonproductive and it appears he's only going to get worse with age, why the hell would another team want to pay him??? Why is he going to get expensive if his advanced stats project him to be crap in years to come?
  6. Why is it unreadable? There has been a lot more negativity toward the Sox which is justified completely. If the negatively is what I deem stupid or unreasonable I just read the post quickly. If somebody thinks Eloy has been a bust, so what? They said the same thing about Timmy and Moncada and they are right on track to stardom. ... Cue somebody saying my posts are awful.
  7. I've been accused of trolling regarding my many posts on Nate, but the poor guy didn't have a chance of staying healthy with that herky-jerky ridiculous way he has of delivering the ball. It hurts just to watch him use that right arm. How many times has he been out of action? Just release him and hope for Nate's sake he made enough money to be set for life. I'm disappointed Eloy has high ankle sprain. That's a serious sprain. Can't believe he hurt it the way he did. Fluke injury but disappointing.
  8. That's a fairly bad injury. PTATC can tell us, but I bet you he won't be back until second week of June.
  9. That's a funny nickname when you think about it. Is Eloy a decent outfielder at least on everything but balls hit over his head? Sometimes outfielders simply have trouble on those kind of blasts. Eloy is gonna be a star but like some say, his DH days will be here soon if he keeps risking his health on defense. I still say that's a minor ankle sprain I saw last night. Better be. If he's hurt an ankle or knee badly that will suck.
  10. If Anderson does get hit by the Tigers next time they play, the Sox should not fight this time but just stop the game and file a complaint immediately with the commissioner. Pretty much anything is allowed during walk off celebrations. The opposing team can get into the clubhouse if the don't want to watch walk-off celebrations. Baseball's unwritten rulebook has nothing in it on walk offs. What walk off HR celebration isn't wild?
  11. Five inches?? Will it stick? Would be rather annoying to get in an accident in May for gosh sakes because of snow. It's going to get that cold, cold nuff to snow on April 27??
  12. Great post. Abreu has nothing to prove. He's an excellent player. He's just the victim of the "never good enough" mentality some fans have regarding their own. Grass is always greener regarding other guys.
  13. Great win. No complains. All praise.
  14. Great home run. He did the exact same bat flip he did the other day. If the Tigers complain, screw them. They dare not complain on a walk off. Great job, Tim. Excellent swing.
  15. get the leadoff runner on base and we win here; don't and it goes extras IMO.
  16. Thanks guys. I forgot braincramp that Timmy would tag up. Yeah, you are right. Jose shoulda known that. My bad.
  17. Tigers are making a lot of Sox-like mistakes like that bunt. We need to win this game. It's very winnable and I feel like losing it would be worse than a normal loss. We need a walkoff tonight.
  18. Tim was just a step or two past first base. Why wouldn't he go halfway at least to second? It was asking for trouble.
  19. Tim was in a very inopportune spot. He should have been at least halfway to second. I feel it's for sure Tim's fault.
  20. I'm sick of losing to Detroit. We better win this game.
  21. If ever our bullpen has a fantastic night it has to be tonight. No reason to lose this game.
