  1. Thank u!!!! I just watched it. I bet u he's not out but a day or two. I mean ankle sprains are not that bad and he was walking off.
  2. Would love to see video of Eloy injury somewhere. Wonder if it'll show up anywhere since it's negative. Whitesox.com doesn't have it yet. Ho hum, another blowout loss of which we have many. Lotta jokes coming from Bennetti the rest of game?
  3. Cease is 23 fricking years old. He should be in the big leagues ... case closed. It's not that difficult, folks. Why does he have to be 24 before he gets the call? Think of all those wasted pitches with the same wear and tear on the arm as if he were in the bigs. First of all, 23 isn't that young. If he comes up and is miserable it's not because of his age. Somebody should take an anonymous poll of front office types around baseball and see if they think Cease should be in the bigs. He's never thrown more than 124 innings in a season, so I guess we have to keep him in the minors all year to gradually increase his workload or something. I don't like it.
  4. It doesn't hurt me to see Avi do well. He was a model player, hustled his ass off, for sure passed the eye test, two years ago was magnificent, and yet was deemed old news and "not good enough" so we didn't sign him for pennies. it's OK. Perhaps he will get hurt again. He's made it through the coldest month, April, without tearing the hammy, though. Love u Avi! Narvaez? I was never a huge fan, but obviously will let his good stats speak for themselves.
  5. Thanks Ron. I wouldn't do anything regarding an opener with Nova. Just give him 2-3 more starts and if he remains this bad, you've got to pull a Humber and release him. I personally think Erwin is much worse. Ditto him. Release him if he has 2 more horrific starts. As far as quitting being a fan if we go to the opener, yes I might stop being a fan of baseball. The idea of an opener sickens me. Please, baseball, no openers.
  6. I wish they'd ask super fans their opinion before acquiring certain stiffs. For instance I'd have screamed NO PLEASE NO on John Jay as well as Alonso. I'm sure many of you would have screamed NO on the Shields acquisition for a potential stud. Laugh at my suggestion, but at least super fans could express their concerns and why.
  7. Great thread. Nova still has some rope. Two more outings like the last one and I may change my tune. I'd guess Santana is gone soon or put on the DL if he doesn't show something. He's looked like a softball pitcher.
  8. I completely understand what you are saying. When the team has played for nothing for so long, and had so many meaningless losing months of baseball, eventually you have to lose interest just a little bit. Then the lack of interest keeps expanding. In my case, I used to check the standings all the time. It's April and I can say I haven't looked for the standings once. If we were 15-9 I probably would. Sox should be worried. I'm not saying I'm Super Fan but if somebody like me loses interest, I can only imagine the casual fan. Now will all fans come back once we start winning? I guess? It happened in Kansas City. The frontrunners returned those 2 years the Royals were good.
  9. I'm surprised he purchased all those bad players at about 50 million total just to lose. He still coulda lost with guys like Tilson, the catchers we have, etc. Didn't need Alonso to lose. We had candidates to make outs at DH. If I owned the team and the plan was to lose, I'd want that 50 million chump change for me and my family. Perhaps you have to act like you are trying to win to avoid repercussions later from the commish.
  10. I noticed that was an horrific at bat.
  11. Exactly. It offends me that Jay figures to get at bats and Tilson won't this year. Why not give the Jay at bats to Tilson? Just DFA Jay and wish him well spending his $4 million. That 4 million alone sets him up for life and his kids.
  12. Thanks. Sounds like it has some life in the local press. I doubt national will continue covering all that. They should, though, but it all is gonna take time, time, time. ...
  13. Boy we stink. I'm turning off now so maybe that will help us rally in the ninth.
  14. I think this story lost its 15 minutes of fame about a week ago. Lasted a while. The outrage has lessened a bit.

Keep us posted on if/when he loses. Thank u.
  16. Hahn has trained me to not even look at the standings anymore.
  17. Are you a Madrigal fan? He's what u got for rooting for losses 2 years ago.
  18. What a miserable game. And last night was so much fun. I love the fact they are talking about taking away draft picks of tanking teams in the future. Tanking is so un-American.
  19. It'd be a better world and a better city if the Sox resisted signing Jay and donated the 4 million to public high school sports teams. That woulda been awesome. There's simply no reason a tanking team give Jay ANY at bats or reps in the field this season. Let Cordell play or Engel or anybody 25 or younger. Geez.
  20. I just hope Jay takes it easy and sits out the season. I really don't wanna watch him perform for the Sox.
  21. They pretty much conceded the game again in the early innings. They knew Nova had nothing after the third homer. It went from 7 runs to 9 and game ova. He shoulda been lifted after 7th run but that's still too many to come back from.
  22. This Nova guy will be an excellent batting practice pitcher if and when the Sox give up on him. He lays it in there quite nicely.
  23. I wonder if there's ever been 2 games in a row in which both teams pitched a position player in successive nights. One night the home team pitches a position player and in game two the visiting team pitches a position player. Who is this year's Davidson for the Sox?
