  1. I'd think the Sox have a problem with all the different age groups. Millennials: We're told they don't like to go out and spend money. True you can get a deal on Sox tickets to get in the park, but do Millennials care enough to play the secondary market game or figure out the nights there are bargains? For the lousy White Sox ... doubtful. Any Millennials on here? Tell us about your age group's philosophy on going to Sox games please. Over 50 business people: Forget about it. The blue collar of those don't have the money to care enough about getting buddies to go to games. After a hard day's work they would prefer to go home, cook out, watch some big screen TV, drink and chill. The wealthier of the over 50 group don't have 3 plus hours to spend watching bad baseball, oft times in uncomfortable weather (too hot in summer; too cold in April/May). Can any over 50s give me their thoughts on attending games? I'd think the length of game coupled with the cost combined with the fact the Sox stink has made most over 50s pass on the game. Teenagers and under: I would think kids still would like to go to a game or two with dad or aunt Betty or Uncle Joe, but not more than once or twice a year. There's soccer and other sports and video games and i phones that occupy most of the time. Concessions are pretty expensive for a kid and even aunt Betty or Uncle Joe better bring some Benjamins if they are treating kids to hats, food, drink, jerseys. I'd think baseball attendance problems are real. I have no idea how teams like the Royals and White Sox, who had less than 1,000 people in the stands for Game One yesterday can be worth billions of dollars. The TV contracts are that good? Wow.
  2. I think we'll go 6-18. If we somehow go better than .500 in that stretch, maybe Rick Renteria is better than we think. Sox talent is really poor. We really have no business winning many games in this stretch.

Everybody knows how I feel about Ozzie.
  4. Or maybe he was appalled by the bunt call which was so so dumb. Why stifle? He's never going to manage again. He might as well "tell it like he thinks it is." Full disclosure on my take: I love Ozzie.
  5. Look at it this way. Alonso came through to save the day/the split. He still came up with a big hit despite the dumbass bunt attempt by Ricky. Alonso could have hit a liner right into the shift. Instead he pokes a beauty to left for the W.
  6. I do enjoy Alonso's interviews. Seems like he cares. He's also big. If I were an opponent I wouldn't want him charging the mound. Way to go Alonso. I enjoyed the walk off. We haven't had a ton of walk off wins during the tank years. This year we've had two just recently.
  7. Are u bleeping me? I gotta start liking Alonso. Didn't hit into the shift. Wins the game. Nice to see Engle run hard as well. I'll take the split after a lot of bad baseball today.
  8. That bunt try irritates me. Feeble attempt. I wanted a fly ball to tie it.
  9. Hate to say it but I want a fly ball. I don't want him to mess up.
  10. Not complaining but wasn't that strike three? Will they review this call on the bunt?
  11. Everybody says "Ricky's boys don't quit." Well I knew there was trouble today having a DH against the pathetic Orioles. Ricky's boys also have a tendency to appear to loaf at home against lousy teams. We better rally and not get swept.
  12. If he pitches this bad his next start, is DFA possible? He's just as bad as Erwin it appears. Mabe the DL.
  13. Please give greg credit for noticing the meatball-ish offerings of Nova tonight. Frankly I haven't seen a pitcher this bad in a long time.
  14. Maybe it's too cold to fire a fastball, but Nova couldn't retire Fathom here. He's reminding me of a position player pitching in a blowout. Mabe it's the cold weather.
  15. I have a question for PTATC or whoever was a pitcher. A blister to me, seems like an awful problem. I used to get blisters playing tennis and put a bandage on there and that saved me. Of course baseball won't allow pitchers to wear bandaids as they would probably help them get the ball to do wacky things. But what does a pitcher do with a blister problem? Is this something that can be avoided in the future?? I guess I'll google on blisters.
  16. I love Jose. That is all. Nice blast.
  17. Fathom can probably tell me. I just tuned in and that last at bat ... it looked like Nova was just flipping meatballs in there and the guy still struck out. Is his velocity as poor as my eyes suggest? I'm no expert so I will defer, but geez those looked like meatballs that a lousy O's hitter couldn't hit. Strike 3. Tie game.
  18. Just looked at the Game One box score. Time 3 hrs, 48 minutes ... man that's too long for a 5-4 game. Assuming it was a dreadful game with all those relief pitchers for both teams and also the Sox blowing a healthy lead and getting a lousy start apparently from Rodon. Losing both games would be lousy. Please win Game Two, Sox.
  19. You are right. Eloy blows in left so he's the DH now; Abreu is moderately lousy at first so he's a DH; Yonder Alonso is a DH; Avi was our DH cause he stunk in right; Burger is gonna be DH cause he's chubby and not a great fielder and we already have a 3B; Collins is gonna be a DH. So many Dhs.
  20. I'll agree some of the games have been watchable. The fact we came from seven runs down to win the other night is something I don't believe we've ever done during these tank years. So that was encouraging for us non tank people.
  21. Great post. Sometimes I think that's what our fans want us to do with our prospects, never call them up. There's so much concern about "rushing guys" that pisses me off, ever since Gordo Beckham.
  22. I said 18-12. Way too optimistic. We are 12-14. Without Eloy I can't imagine us winning much in the entire month of May. I'd give us six wins in May. But I can hope we're better than that.
