  1. This Banuelos guy is not MLB caliber IMO. Sox should issue refund tickets for today. Why not? Give out some tix for September games if you sat through today's borefest.
  2. No way they are going to cut him. He's getting paid a lot of money and also he's a veteran. A lot of vet sluggers aren't cold weather hitters and it'd be stupid to just release him before he has a chance to go on a tear in hot weather. (Caveat here: not that I'm an Alonso supporter. I do not want him on my team, but I see no way Sox just cut him; I mean I know we got money to burn but that's outright dumb after a month and a half).
  3. I'd have thought greg wrote this sentence. I usually write that type of sentence.
  4. Were there really 19,000 fans there for a Tuesday day game? And why did we play a Tuesday day game in mid May? Weird.
  5. I need to spit out my 12 dollar soft drink. Only in baseball can a rebuild be done as cheaply as possible when the owner is swimming in cash. Ah the non sequitirs of life (sell it, Jerry, you can get 1 billion for it; sell to somebody).
  6. Machado has 21 RBI this season, but I guess there'll be some advanced stat saying he's having a way better season than Abreu. We're already six weeks into the season. I don't want to be part of a sport if that sport tells me Abreu is only average. Oh well, I need to stop responding or I'll get banned. Just remember when Abreu hits his next home run I am a big fan.
  7. I'm glad I'm enjoying every minute of Abreu's career. Not the team, but his individual career. He is one class act. Pay him. Enjoy him. Respect him. Thank u.
  8. Why not try to win it? We got the $$ to spend.
  9. Moncada! He's special. Abreu has 10 homers and 36 RBIs. Most underrated Sox player in years. All the guy does is produce. Give him some money, Jerry.

They only listed 2 categories to pick from. Being a whiner or a dude. Whiner seems wrong to me.

Cmon. It's not cut and dried. Your categories are wrong. The categories are: 1.) Anger door. Anger at all aspects Sox baseball starting with the product and performance of the front office. 2.) Go ahead and call it the dudes door but I'm not sure what it takes to be a dude. Just "whatever will be will be; I'll always love baseball and the Sox and am OK with everything going on." Is that what a dude is? I don't see how anybody can be OK with this organization. To say we're all whiners I think is inaccurate. I'd say anger and disgust, not whiner.
  12. Cause he wants next year's money too. No team will be dumb enough to pay him next year's total. That's what I meant. He won't care about this year. He still gets that money. To abruptly cut him just to not pay him next year's haul should bother him I'd think.
  13. Baseball has an injury problem. Ugh.

No. 3 pick in the 2014 Draft. OK the rebuild fanatics are safe here. We weren't exactly tanking yet when we took him No. 3 overall so he doesn't count as a flop in the rebuild era, just a bit before. But it still is a horsebleep draft pick in hindsight. Somebody should pay for what turned out to be the wrong pick. That said, injury wise, I wish him the best. He had some good outings and I wish him well in his recovery and comeback.
  15. There is no reason to sign him. None. If the Sox can't afford a surgically rebuilt Rodon, then they have major problems.
  16. We didn't win many clean games like this on the road last year so maybe we're getting a little better. Hopefully. ...
  17. Kind of a good sign we win some road games this year so far. We shall see. At times our lineup looks so awful. If I didn't know better I'd say we have a much better record than we should under Ricky.
  18. Yet so many fans hate rushing players. Seems to me a player is only popular from 23 to 28. Under 23 he's been rushed big time. Over 28, yawn, do not sign him to a long term deal! (Sox inexplicably signed some old guys this year in Alonso, Jay and McCann, 29 in June). Pitchers can go much longer of course. Nobody minds a 35 year old pitcher if he's been relatively healthy.
  19. Let's just assume McCann is Johnny Bench reincarnated. Play him all but one day a week. Seems like a smart ballplayer too. Hit 'em where they ain't.
  20. Yonder snapping out of his slump? That would help this team a lot.
  21. Glad to see Guerrero playing in big at age 20 and Tatis at age 20. Might start a trend in letting young guys play in the bigs much much earlier than they do now? Rush them? I say play them (at 20, 21, 22).
  22. Interesting. Man he's gonna be one, furious guy if the Sox stop playing him or cut him. I wouldn't want to be the one to tell him.
  23. Am I missing something? He makes 9 mill in 2020. How can they cut him if that's the case? Teams have money to burn I guess. Yonder drew 9 walks in Sox's first six games. Since then he's had 10 walks in 30 games. He's a player going up there hitting into the shift time after time. One has to wonder if playing on a wretched team affects his desire to walk. Just hack away.
  24. He had some pretty vicious posts for a while there. Certainly he was put on vacation, right? (I have no knowledge either way, just figured as somebody who has been suspended a couple times).
  25. I wouldn't say nothing. Isn't McCann a 4 million dollar guy? Tilson isn't making anything I'd guess.
