  1. I'm glad Fry whiffed that leadoff guy.
  2. Would be nice to extend Bummer a third inning. We all know what's about to happen. But I understand why Bummer won't be continuing. I get it.
  3. What is Yolmer's value? Next please.
  4. That first pitch is why Timmy can't walk. How do you swing at that? Cause u are guessing! When you lead off you get on base!
  5. If you purchase tickets to Tribe games do you want to hear that one fan 'wooing' in the background?? That noise is very annoying.
  6. Exactly. These players that hit into the shift deserve their horrid stats. So selfish to not go the other way and get a hit; poor Tilson gets robbed. We ain't winning tonight, folks. We don't win 3 straight in Cleveland ... not yet.

How can this guy be so good? Will he ever lose? He could be set for life.
  8. With all due respect, we love to undervalue our own on message boards. Who was the last Sox player universally beloved? Was Buehrle loved right until the end? Paulie wasn't. He had detractors. Maybe Ray Durham? He was beloved til the end wasn't he? The guy has 9 homers and 34 RBI for gosh sakes.
  9. There are so many bad hitters in that lineup. How the hell are we sniffing .500?
  10. If I owned a baseball team, I'd pass on FA pitchers for big bucks. So many need surgery.
  11. Please save that five word sentence. I want to use it every time an Abreu thread pops up. If I say what I want to, I'll get banned. I worship Abreu so to speak.
  12. Great point. Does anybody want Alonso? Trade him now and try Palka again. Although if we are possibly going to contend this year, the Sox probably feel they need the veteran leadership of Alonso. Flirting with .500 would suggest the possibility of contending although I see a lineup that's pretty week and very conducive to a long long losing streak.
  13. Glad the poll is in their favor big time. I think they are amazing. I've said this before, but try to listen to other team's crews. Like the Royals. Except for the amazing Denny Mathews and the very good Ryan Lefevre, the Royals broadcast is one big commercial for the team. At least Bennetti and Stone don't go that way. They are cheerleaders of course, but it's not sickening. And they use their real voices, don't try to talk like stereotypical announcers.
  14. I like that uppercut swing yesterday when he hit the bomb. Hope he keeps it up, but I applaud him regardless. .351, 4 HR 9 RBI and 6 walks in 80 plate appearances. Not half bad.
  15. That's why I'm so against tanking. You keep a competitive roster and guess what? You strike playoff gold every once in a while. And guess what? The Sox get in the playoffs and anything can happen. Remember Baumgartner that one year? One guy (Gio?) can get red hot and lead the way, baby. That is if you are not trying to lose.
  16. I love McCann but you guys slay me. He turns 29 in June which is so close to being too old by modern board posters. It's OK some players are pushing 30 and can get nice deals backed by the fans and other guys get meh'ed to death when they near 30. It's all cliche. That said I do love McCann. he's one of the reasons we are sniffing .500.
  17. Well, we are an inconsistent team which I guess is better than being a rotten team. Great starting pitching from Gio. Congrats. Can you imagine Eloy going after that ball Tilson caught? Yikes. Gotta love Tilson so far.
  18. Start the shuttle between the Sox and the DFA list. Please release Fry. Thank you in advance.
  19. Fry has no chance; what's with the ground ball pitches??
  20. Fry ... one big LOL (get him out of there).
  21. He's only 26, one year younger than Engel. He only had 121 plate appearances last year. He has four full seasons before he hits the dreaded 30. A second round draft pick, former 9th rated prospect in Cardinals organization who has been plagued by injuries, he deserves this final shot. Here's yet another guy who has to prove he can hit or it's about over for him. If he gets hurt again, you would think MLB would cut bait with him. Last chance here for Charlie?
  22. I forgot about Fisk. That experiment didn't last, did it? As I recall he was a catcher til the end and the end finally came cause he couldn't catch the ball any more.
  23. Good win. We're due for a pleasant surprise. How bout it Tilson? Good start, now turn into Ralph Garr please.
  24. What the heck? Why are the concessions people so slow and inept?
  25. I long for the days my favorite team at least tried to win. It was fun going into a season thinking we had a chance and not being OK with the Cub saying, "Wait til next year." Next year blows. I want to win now.
