That's all u got out of that great post? I'll try to stop the third person but it is difficult apparently to stifle that.
  2. Rick Renteria has as much chance of being Sox manager in 2020 as does Balta or Fathom. Well, not literally but in reality, yes. Bank on some name manager who gets axed before then becoming our skipper or simply Omar V. My odds of 2020 manager Ricky: 5 percent chance Omar V: 80 percent chance. Famous guy from another team: 15 percent chance. That said, take care of yourself Mr. Renteria. Sad to lose one's mother. Bless u Rick R. Take all the time u need to honor her. Take another week off if you need the time. Mothers are precious folks.

I think he's going to excel hitting lefty and righty. I think any concerns about Moncada should be relaxed. Greg uses the eye test and he passes it big time, folks. No need to discuss Moncada except in terms of how he does in a given game. He's a star obviously.
  4. Not trying to be Debbie Downer again but if we're going to have a real rotation by August and real lineup by August, isn't it a shame we didn't try to hover around .500 til then? Are we assuming all the young guys we call up are going to suck for a year and a half before 2020? I don't see why that has to be the case. If they are ready for the bigs, suddenly our new era is saying they may need 2 seasons before they get good. Very weird. Before the tank/rebuild era when a guy got called up, he was supposed to be good right off the bat or start losing his elite status.
  5. Wonder boy managers rarely work out. Remember Trey Hillman and Terry Bevington?
  6. This is why I hate rebuilds. If so many guys ultimately fail, guess what, we'll be finding out they failed in big league games. And we'll be losing those big league games as we find out. If we need 2-3 starters in our rebuilt WS contending team(s) to come from other organizations, then what the hell are we rebuilding this way for? Considering the length of time this rebuild is to take, we're only going to have 2-3 nice pieces on the mound? Very very sad. Fire everybody. Yes I've advocated adding veteran relievers and a starter for the rebuilt Sox, but this kind of talk is ridiculous. We're going to need to hit free agency big time?? That's what us non rebuilding types wanted to do in the first place.

Sounds like the stat people go by the eye test just like us non advanced statniks. Like Caulfield said it's all selective IMO.
  8. The Royals are definitely as bad as the Sox but they do have Moose, Perez and Soler is hot so I see this series 3-2 KC or 3-2 Sox. Would be nice to see Davidson keep hitting HRs in Kauffman.

You may have your wish. Looks like Ricky isn't as dumb as I thought. Now that he's used to leading off, might as well leave him there for the next 17 seasons. Maybe Avi was getting used to the 2 slot as well. I thought RR was crazy. I saw Moncada as a somebody lower in the order driving the ball and driving in a lot of runs.
  10. I love Matt Davidson.
  11. Cause he's in the minors. If we had a GOOD FA veteran starter he wouldn't be blocking Kopech at all.
  12. Well, yeah I'm serious. Balta listed these pitchers to educate me. We're developing, he said, Gio (true), Lopez (true), Fulmer (true), Rodon (?) and Kopech (?) Who else on our staff are we actually developing? Miguel and Shields, no. Those bullpen hacks, no. Report post Posted 1 hour ago
  13. I thought that was a good pitch. Narvaez shouldn't complain, but swing.
  14. For the general reason folks want to win. I like for my team to win. I can't help it.
  15. This reliever Diaz is good, but our hitters blow chunks.
  16. I agree but it'll never happen. Owners love playing close to home 19 times a season.
  17. Good point, but I'm irritable cause I want wins.
  18. Does Stoney have a cold? He sounds funny. Also a bit irritable on that last comment.
  19. That's cause you and flavum are intelligent peeps who realize it is a huge problem. As a Sox fan I am furious they are lining Jerry's pockets with this low payroll. You can still rebuild and play .480 baseball. As badly as the White Sox have drafted, it is ridiculous to make sure you get a top 3 pick. Nothing wrong with a 8, 9, 10 pick if you do it right. We, for instance, could have a real outfield instead of this crap. There's no reason to be developing Engel, Trayce or Leury. Yolmer is a nice piece but he doesn't need 480-540 at bats either. And who are we developing on the mound? Sox could have acquired some guys who can get people out and go .480 and still be "rebuilding." Tanking reeks.
  20. USA Today wrote today that 7 or 9 teams (I forget which) already are out of the playoff race with no chance for the playoffs. Embarrassing. I wish teams that tank would be fined severely.
  21. Weren't there only like 2 people stirring things up ripping Moncada? One or two? Everybody else either was loving on him or just being calm. A couple pointed out his struggles right handed with advanced stats as proof, which shouldn't bother anybody. All the other Sox hitters get scrutinized the same way so no big deal. I didn't sense anybody saying Moncada blows.
  22. That's right. We also can thank them for 05, but that turned out to be fate or whatever you want to call it. It ended up being a one year wonder(ful) experience.
  23. I didn't insult or slander anybody. Geez. Not my style. However I did stand up for Davidson big time. The eye test and my $$$ mlb subscription showed me big hit after big hit from Matt. Yes the haters were right apparently but I didn't insult anybody just tried to praise Matt D.
  24. Got half of it right; forgot to take into consideration the shadows. But I had our anemic lineup down pat as well as the L.
  25. I was wrong on Matty. I thought he'd be special. Like I said, baseball is an unforgiving game. Eight wins a month folks ... that equals 48 wins max on the SouthSide this year.
