  1. I was right on anybody seeing today's lineup reeked. I was wrong on the over cause of the shadows. My bad. But Ricky needs to get a clue.
  2. I love Hector and wish they'd switch him to starter pronto. Even though we do need bullpen guys, too.
  3. Trayce is looking like another Engel as in automatic out. Sure looks like he can't hit a fastball and just gets blown away. Baseball is such a tough sport. Too hard for most to hit that cylinder.

I won't look at all the stats, but Abreu is quietly putting up what has to be one of the best five-year stretches in Sox history. .317, 36, 107; .290, 30, 101; .293, 25, 100; .304, 33, 102; and .308, 6, 12 so far this year. Knock on wood for this season.
  5. I forgot about the shadows in making my prediction. However, I was right about our weak lineup today.
  6. Are our prospects already dropping in stature? I never saw Cease's name til this year. People were thinking he might be a possibility, now we're counting on him to be a star? I thought Fulmer and Rodon were supposed to be special. Are we already dropping them down?
  7. No. Even those "experts" in Vegas don't refund money. Those guys who have the 7 a.m. fake talk show infomercials on sports radio on Sat and sunday mornings. They charge huge bucks and if they are wrong they are wrong. Too bad. But I have a feel for the White Sox and am offering free of charge w/no guarantees. If you win you could always forward me 40 percent. Thank u kindly!
  8. And please return to my thread postgame and give me credit where it's due. I'm out to win u folks some $$.
  9. Don't like today's lineup one bit. Bet the house on the M's and the over in a parlay. Only way we win? Moncada would have to single-handedly carry the team today and somehow we outslug them say, 11-9. Frankly I see 9 as a very low number for the opponent considering who we are starting and what we've got behind him.
  10. I want Sale and Madison B off that list. Forget Machado. He's staying in AL East. Only other team might have a chance is Mets.
  11. Damn a victory finally. I did think this lineup appeared a little bit better than the regular ones of Ricky. Still the only reason we won is we actually got a quality start. That's why I think we're only gonna win about 8 games a month. No starting pitching.
  12. Abreu and Avi would be here because they (sort of) are part of the rebuilt WS team. It seems like no decision has been made on that yet. Miguel was a head scratcher. I am thinking front office thought they needed somebody to eat up some innings besides the bullpen hacks. Miguel sort of fit that description. Between he and Shields, one of the two (on paper) would be an inning eater during this gawd-awful season. Soria? Another head scratcher. Not sure why they thought they needed one "established" reliever to go with Nate. Really doesn't make much sense. Maybe they felt a payroll at 40 million might cause riots or something. 60 million is amazingly cheap but it's not 40 million.
  13. I have no idea. So you are saying it's worth being THIS bad to make sure we get the No. 1, 2 or 3 overall pick? My point was we don't have to be a 42-win team while in a total rebuild. Reason Sox are this bad during a rebuild is to line Jerry's pockets and the other partner's pockets with more cash.
  14. We can go ahead and rebuild. I'm just saying the only reason to be THIS BAD is to get a top 3 draft pick instead of 6 or 7. There are only 4-5 guys on the current roster who are part of the true rebuild. What is it, 2 pitchers? I don't consider Yolmer and Leury as guys who need to be developed. Ditto Delmonico, Trayce, even Davidson. So we could have some good players to go with Avi and Abreu while still 'rebuilding.' I'm just saying the Sox are ripping off the public with that 60 mill payroll. We're only developing a handful of players for the rebuild in the bigs right now: Anderson, Moncada, Gio, Lopez, maybe Davidson. I'm not a Delmonico guy or a Trayce guy. Those guys can't play. So it's just $$$ that's keeping the Sox from having some real players hold down the fort til the true prospects are ready. And yes I'll call them out for wanting to rip off the fan. Those delicious corned beef sandwiches should not be the only reason fans want to go to the Cell this season.
  15. At least you recognize this. I am very mad. There are a lot of non prospects on the current team. The Sox management could have added some useful pieces (Soria??) to at least sniff .480 or .500 during this pathetic rebuild. I guess Hahn will say they want a top 3 pick this year and next to complete the rebuild. Get a superstar the next 2 drafts instead of a Burger type. So he'll either say or imply they want to lose 110 games to complete the rebuild. I'm mad cause I don't like being this bad and being out of the race after 2 weeks of the season. I wish they'd clean house and let some other folks complete the rebuild. And Ricky in 3 short weeks this season has proven he is NOT the man to manage this team when games count.
  16. I don't know how you can expect 68 wins. This team will win about 8 games a month if it's lucky. That's 48 wins.
  17. I haven't read about this tragedy yet. Signs I'm becoming numb to this stuff. This is not the type of America I thoroughly love.
  18. I probably should shut up as I truly do wish Timmy the best. Trust me on this. I lost a best friend to murder. I lost dad and referred to mom in post above. I feel your and Timmy's pain and wish you both the best. I can't help but compare this to real life, however, and unless you are working at a great great great great, all-time great, place, most employers don't care about losing a friend after a year. The HR departments don't even like hearing you want to take a few days off to travel to the funeral/memorial service of your brother's wife's mother. This world is way too cold.
  19. Good. I can't see an outfield of Eloy, Robert and Rutherford being anything but excellent. With those 3 patrolling the outfield and an infield of Machado (Burger is a big question mark with injury), Timmy, Moncada and Abreu/Avi. Collins at catcher and free agent (or Davidson/Avi) at DH with the young starting staff of studs plus hopefully 1-2 free agent starters and 4-7 free agent relief acquisitions, at that point a lot of Ws figure to be in our future.
  20. It's not been a whole year for you yet. My sympathy to you. But if you continue to be depressed about this, it might not hurt to get some help. Also not to be insensitive to Timmy (I do feel for him and wish him recovery) but this was your dad, not just a great friend. If your grief persists it may not hurt to get some help. Best wishes to you in recovering from the loss of your dad. My dad died a couple years ago and my mom now is pretty much stuck into dementia to where she is no longer a functioning mom anymore so I understand how bad it is to have parents gone. It's weird to think without a mom and dad we truly do not have the two people who care(d) about us the most unconditionally. Best wishes to u.
  21. If I were the commish I'd fine teams like the White Sox for obvious tanking. It's beyond embarrassing and bad for the game of baseball to purposely want to lose. I'd fine them enough to make it hurt.
  22. Nobody's trying to pull the plug because we have no power to pull the plug. I realize we are rebuilding. I'm OK with it. I just am not going to sit back and trust our front office when these same peeps thought LaRoche could play and some other stiffs I won't mention. I see no reason to not be an asshole fan. Look, they are giving us the worst possible product last year, this year, more years to come and they are not reducing prices for the not even minor league product. That to me is despicable. Truly despicable. So I'll call them on it. You want to rebuild. Fine. You put this crap on the field, cut prices for tickets 1/2 to 2/3s and lower parking to 5 bucks and beer to 6 bucks. When your little rebuild is complete raise prices again. Thank u. p.s. If the White Sox want to pay for my mlb.com this year and retroactively last year and again next year I will be more forgiving in my comments.
  23. This used to be the fear when the Sox talked about rebuilding completely, that the casual fan would be gone. Somewhere in the last 5-10 years however came the TV argument. Attendance doesn't matter at all and all that matters is the guaranteed TV money. Nobody in the front office cares about the Chicago fan. They care about TV dollars and as a result record value for the franchise no matter the attendance.
  24. It's funny, cause here's how the rebuild has been presented to me and I now am assuming it's true. In 2020 (God bless good health and fortune for us all that we're still loving life in 2020) we are going to win 90 to 110 games and win the division and reach the WS. We may or may not win the WS but we will be there. In 2021 we will win the Central and reach the WS and this time win it in six or seven. In 2022 we will win the Central and reach the WS and win it in 4 or 5. Then who knows after 2022, but we'll have had 3 WS appearances and two crowns to our credit. I'm assuming it's a given. No ifs ands or buts.
