  1. Shameful is a good word. I truly hope the Sox get mocked in the media and everywhere during the three Cub massacres. I see no scenario in which the Sox win a game. It would have to just be one of those 60 that every team wins. Or in this case one of the 48 wins. I wish the commissioner would fine the Sox a LOT of money. Going into a season with Shields and MiGo as top two starters and Nate Jones (lol) and Soria (bigger lol) as your two late inning guys means you are trying to win 5-8 games a month ... PERIOD!! Fine the White Sox for making a mockery of baseball!! And do it now, mr. Commish.
  2. A lot more than that, sir.
  3. Do any of you agree with greg that he has a funky delivery. Looks painful to me. Let's win one, Sox. Palko is my new idol.
  4. Poor guy. Not much you can say. He's 22 and out of action a long while. Will he be back for spring training? I like his bat but obviously Sox will have to move on. I'd expect a Moose signing and if Burger ever makes it back he'll be traded. Best luck JB.
  5. Not really. Not if you are good every year. Makes for enjoyable summers. Then a year or two yo get career years and boom! A WS appearance. This way ... Sox have so many ifs, so much work to do. We shall see.
  6. The old way should have worked fine. We won it in 05 and if you recall, everybody had us penciled in for continued sccess. It's the front office's fault for sucking and not keeping us atop a lousy division for years to come. I mean it's not my fault they failed at their jobs. Just as now you are hoping suddenly the front office can get this right doing it this way. I prefer the old way in which we should be good every year and then suddenly in a magic year catch lightning with good players having their career year and us winning it all!!!!
  7. I love Lip Man but I find this interesting. You guys are on Ozzie for "quitting" on his team in a meaningless last week of the season. Yet Hahn purposely wants to lose 110 games this year. That's not "quitting on the team?" It's all relative. Ozzie had worn out his welcome. The Sox brass wanted to move on from the Ozzie era. Everybody knew it. Ozzie made the change possible by taking the Miami job. Quit on the team? What are several people in the Sox organization doing right now??? They quit so much we were out of the race two weeks into the season.
  8. Stoney and Jason make this crap tolerable. They are a pleasure to listen to again tonight. I love their banter.
  9. Ozzie's problem is nobody could convince him to shut up. He was a great baseball player. A great baseball mind as manager. The players loved him. The fans loved him. But his love of money and his ego got him fired. And fired in Miami too. If only somebody could have convinced him to stifle about controversial topics.
  10. They showed highlights the other day of Ozzie. Now that's a baseball player. Now that's a baseball manager. Ozzie Guillen I love you!
  11. Another blowout. My gawd we stink. This is again embarrassing.
  12. I envision a USA with 80 percent of the boomers forced out of their homes and living on the streets when SS goes broke and medicare, etc. That's why Bernie has to come to the rescue. I'm ready to have the government pay for everything. Why? Cause of these crooked insurance companies refusing to pay for SERVICES rendered!!! We're all gonna go broke if we get sick. Sad sad sad.
  13. My point is we won a WS the old way of doing things. Why? One year everything went right (and we still almost blew it late in September). We all will be thrilled if we get one WS out of this rebuild. So why sacrifice 4-6 years of SUCKING totally for the 'chance' we might be dominant and win one WS? We could do it the normal way and acquire good players, develop some of our players and win a crappy division. Once you win the division you could catch lightning like 05 for gosh sakes.
  14. Why are you acting so mean in response to my question? I said I had no problem with 10 years. I'm pointing out reasons I feel he'll get a year in a posh prison. Remember this is about one case. The other cases are not included. So I was wondering if he'd get OJ'ed. The Vegas sentence made up for the LA acquittal. I'm not for Cosby the creep. Just asking what he's gonna get.
  15. I mean I'm not a rebuild guy, but this makes no sense. Why have a Sale-type pitcher on such a bad team? Explain please. Either a.) we are prepping him for next season or b.) he could be traded for 5 great prospects at the deadline if he's a star. For fans like me I hope it means the rebuild is sped up.
  16. It seems to me the managers have sucked, the GM's moves have sucked and the acquisitions have sucked prior to the rebuild acquisitions. I think we should be able to rule the division withot the tank/rebuild. You folks should be upset if Kopech is called up now. What good will it be to have a Sale-like star on a 100-loss team? Unless we're prepping him for a sped up contender next season?
  17. Undeniably true.
  18. Even Royals spent money. Even Cubs spent money. NY spends money; both teams. As far as not winnin' since 08, I blame our scouts, our front office, our owner. They have acquired stiffs. All you need to do is win your division, people and our division is not special.
  19. This should really anger some of you. MaKes no sense for a one-day promotion to win a game when we are tryin' to lose every other nite.
  20. But who's fauilt is it we won it once?
  21. The Indians are .500 for gawd sakes. This rebuild is insane. You get in the playoffs and the Sox may pull an Ozzie and WIN IT ALL. You'll never find out. We won one WS by catching lighting in a bottle. How many are we going to win this way? The division reeks. .500 to get in playoffs? Geez. We couda been contenders w/a few moves for a few dollars.
  22. I blame our scouts for picking up so many lousy players since 2006. It's an amazing dynamic that some fans don't want to rush players, so here's your window of stardom: 25 years old (maybe 24 with some players) to 29. That's four seasons in which a fan thinks a player should be raking. Any younger than 24 and we've rushed the player. Any player older than 30? Definitely DO NOT sign him to anything but a one-year deal.
  23. I mean how high can it go? At this rate, laugh if you will but in five years parking will be 60-70 dollars for a fricking baseball game; a hotdog will be 20 dollars; a burger 25 dollars; a beer 20-25 dollars; a soft drink probably stay about 10 dollars; a cotton candy 15 dollars. It's coming. I really don't understand how baseball teams make the kind of profits we read about. I thought ESPN was going broke laying off people. It's a very weird dynamic. Baseball teams are worth so much money, yet the average person certainly can't afford to attend a game today much less in five years when those prices I mentioned figure to be reality.
  24. This is actually a pretty cool video of Hawk highlights. I forgot how mad he gets at Joe West.
  25. I think we're going to win 8-9 games a month for a total of about 48-54 victories.
