  1. Trading him would be so dumb.
  2. What is wrong with the Democratic party? I sense disdain for Bernie, almost hatred. This is a guy the Millenials want. He could win. And like I said, I've given up. The Republican candidates don't care about the middle class going broke over health care. And Social Security that is going to put so many Baby Boomers on the streets when they run out of funds in retirement. I'm generally not for socialism but I've been forced there by Trump and all the politicians who don't give a flip about the middle class/poor class. Get behind Bernie. I do wish we could turn back the clock and make him 10 years younger but whatever. He'll need a good VP candidate, not some embarrassment. Bernie I predict will adopt a gun policy that will support the grade schoolers and high schoolers who are under siege by maniacs/madmen. If we don't start fixing health care and college kids going into severe debt just to get a degree, etc., we better build homeless parks cause 70 percent of the current middle class over 50 will be homeless someday. And these Millenials will be homeless in their late 30s, 40s because of lack of jobs and the fact they've just got no money. Cancer is out of control; diseases are out of control and like I said your savings will be gone in an instant if you ever need surgery and/or a 3 week hospital stay. I wish the Democrats would get behind Bernie. But again I sense flat out hatred of him.
  3. Nice win. I know nothing about Covey except he was a fourth rounder. I can hope he's decent.
  4. I am giving up now. I want Bernie and only Bernie. We have given traditional politics many tries and what do we get?? We get unsulted and pillaged of our money. Health care is now my No. 1 concern. Because in the last 10 years we've now finally gotten to the point those assholes running health care companies refuse to pay for our health care expenses even if we buy the maximum coverage of insurance. Again ... how many of the middle class save their entire lives, have a worth of about 500,000 bucks which could be a good chunk in retirement, but NOOOOOOOO. A trip to the hospital and you will have to pay 70-80 percent of the bill because of the pathetic health care situation we are in. So I now want FREE coverage for all and Bernie is the only guy to give us that. I also want free college education for kids now because the colleges have fooled society into thinking they need to charge kids 50,000 bucks a semester or school year for fricking in state tuition. Ridiculous. And guns. I want none on the street anymore to protect the grade schoolers and high schoolers and movie theatre goers. Bernie will do that. And I want social security to stay and you just know it's going away soon. BERNIE IS THE ANSWER and the only answer right now cause Ventura is un-electable. Bernie can win. Cmon Millenials, go for your first president.
  5. Unless there's an inside source or two telling us Girardi is horrible in the clubhouse, etc., he could be the guy. We need a Leyland/LaRussa/Lasorda/Francona type to make us legit and too bad the first three are too old. Girardi is the man, unless there are ghosts in his closet that tell us he's a bum.
  6. Good column. I approve of this part the most ... I don't think Ricky is THE biggest problem in the organization, of course. He didn't bring in this sorry collection of pitchers/players to hold down the fort as we wait for the young reinforcements for the most part. But I like this part of the column I know the rebuild wasn’t always going to be linear. But it doesn’t have to be lazy and embarrassing. That cutesy slogan that “Ricky’s boys don’t quit”? Someone needs to amend it because too many of Ricky’s boys quit running when it’s the easiest thing in the game to do.
  7. Indeed. Our pen still blows.
  8. I'm a vocal Bernie supporter because our country blew it. a.) Healthcare companies are committing crimes every day refusing to pay for medical care. If you go in the hospital, get ready to pay 60 to 70 percent of the bill cause the companies will reject services. Bernie will stop that shit cause we'll have FREE health care. b.) guns. Bernie will get them off the streets or annoy Republicans until he gets his way. c.) free college education for millenials. why not make it free? The capitalist system had its chances but the mega rich blew it for regular middle class people. If we can't make a middle class living, then give me Bernie ball -- socialism Bernie style baby. d.) social security. You just know it's going away and soon. Bernie ball will keep it intact.
  9. Nice to win at home especially. Nate Jones has four saves.
  10. Salary relief? What are you smoking? Why are you concerned about the owners' pockets? They are swimming in money and the team payroll is so low it's embarrassing. And you want a salary relief dumping of Jose A? You must be one of those fans who only cares about guys on other teams and prospects. The grass is always greener somewhere else cause Jose actually makes outs once in a while.
  11. Every advanced metrics statnik knows the bunt is NEVER called for any more in modern baseball. Ricky bunts a lot. So he must be shown the door if this team truly is new wave using metrics. I mean one bunt is too many. Is it against baseball's unwritten rules that the GM can't tell a manager to stop calling for bunts? Seriously. If a team is committed to statnik type baseball how can that team allow the manager to bunt???
  12. What is that? Sounds awesome. BERNIE IS RuNNIN FOR PRES!
  13. Ugh. Get the guns off the streets. I do like No. 2 however. ... The bottom line is that video I saw on the Internet of the campaign when Trump told the gun-niks "you will keep your guns; you will keep your magazines; nothing will happen." That video is all we need. No politician will get the guns off the streets; too many votes lost. It's sick and said. That's why I've totally changed my politics. I am ONLY for candidates that will give us free healthcare and only for candidates that will get the guns off the streets. Bernie baby!!!Why can't you be 20 years younger Bernie?
  14. I don't follow the Cubs. Do they need a first baseman? They might overpay again in a trade with the Chisox. Jose A deserves to be on a contender.
  15. This is what bothers greg so much. Put together a .500 team during the rebuild (all it woulda cost was a few bucks; still coulda made the key trades involved) and we'd be having fun right now. The rebuild didn't have to be exclusive of .500.
  16. Somebody go to the games and count the fans please. It would be cool to know if there are only 2,500 in the park each night.
  17. Would be nice if Lopez keeps pitching like this. As well as the three relievers who have not been awful of late.
  18. If he's really 3 years older than they say, then I guess he doesn't fit the rebuild. But if his age is correct, keep him around. We will need some veterans who care as much as he does.
  19. You seem like a great person, bazox
  20. They are saying the bishop stole the show at the Royal wedding with his American-style sermon. Some are hoping his incredible speech on such a big stage will spark an interest in religion and faith. "Jesus did not get an honorary doctorate for dying." Powerful stuff and nobody could run him off the stage or force him to stop talking about God. Interesting. https://www.usatoday.com/story/life/people/2018/05/19/royal-wedding-black-bishop-discusses-slavery-rousing-address/625643002/
  21. Good post. Surprised he had the guts to post it. I think some businesses would fire you for expressing an opinion publicly and also acknowledging God in this. I would think in the day and age of PC a chief of police might get in trouble for posting this. I feel his pain, though. He is upset as he should be.
  22. You brought it up, so you tell me what I did that was so wrong. ... The first time I saw the male in high heels and dress (I have no idea if he was a cross dresser or transgender; he wasn't pulling the look off well) I was in the Subway when the person came in, and ate and did not leave or even hurry my dining in order to leave. I just sat and ate. I didn't chat her up, but I almost never have chatted up anybody I don't know when dining alone in a fast food place. Last two times I did it I got rejected. A taco place screwed up my order and gave me an extra burrito and two extra tacos (all I wanted was a burrito and one taco and drink) and I asked a family if they wanted a burrito and they looked like I was trying to rob them. Heaven forbid I not want to waste food. Second time I was at Chipolte and ate about 1/3 of a bag of chips and asked some peeps if they wanted any chips and they looked at me like I was holding them up. ... Second time I was pulling into Subway and saw the guy in high heels and a dress walking into subway and I elected to pull away and not go in. I didn't attack the person; I didn't offend the person. She did not see me make the decision to pull away. I decided I was not up for dining with somebody I found so unattractive. If that makes me horrible, I hope God forgives me. Sorry I didn't do the right thing and go in the restaurant and eat there again. I did the wrong thing in sharing this story as life is supposed to be one big picnic, all the time. Caulfield's post was a cheap shot to greg, implying I'd do something like the person who harassed somebody. That is pretty cruel as I have NEVER exhibited any such behavior in society. I've done nothing but be a respectable citizen at all times. You owe me an apology. I demand an apology. If you refuse to give one, please do not address me again. I actually think that lady filming that incident handled that wrong.
  23. Why would they pay him that kind of jack just to assure losses? You could pitch Fathom and accomplish that for 500,000 a year. It makes no sense to acquire Soria so we'd be sure to lose more, though that in fact was and is a certainty. It's kind of a stretch, IMO to think they'd pay that much money just to make sure we lose. No way he was going to be a flip candidate. He's past that stage of his career. He's just independent league fodder right now. Sox talent evaluators should be worried about their jobs after acquisitions of Soria and Shields.
  24. I hope he never returns to the big league club until it's deemed he has big league stuff and big league command. I guess if he's as bad as our current bullpen guys, he could be turned into a middle reliever. But please, never bring him up to the parent club again, unless his arm proves worthy. He's very very poor right now.
