  1. Yes. It's very sad. Did you see the interview of the 14 year old girl today? CNN or somebody asked her if she was surprised this happened at her school? She said, "No, actually after all the shootings I expected it to happen at my school." It's the new normal and it won't stop. The gun lovers say, "Yeah, but ...." and actually want weapons of mass destruction to be readily available. Since there's a 2 percent chance the government might some day attack the citizenry, we have to have the right to have these weapons of destruction in our hands.
  2. Not to be a dick, but since I've tuned in, it sure seem's like Ricky's boys have quit tonight. It's a cliche so it can be used tonight for sure. They sure look like they quit to me at the at bats I've watched. Oh I know ... it's raining. Excuse time for RR.
  3. True. But first of all, the Sox management was at fault in the Sale thing. Money pitcher uncomfortable in jerseys and team doesn't care and will pitch him anyway. Simply insane in this day and age of pitchers getting hurt and being babied. For some reason they draw the line and will make their money man lefty ace pitch in those unis. He warns them, they don't care, so he tears them up. Is willing to pay for them, front office doesn't care; fans, at least the vocal ones, turn on Sale. Secondly, LaRoche in retrospect probably knew he was about finished. He's actually supposed to be a good guy. Does a lot for charity, etc.
  4. Since tanking is the rage, it's obvious KC will flip Herrera at the deadline. He looks like he definitely has the stuff/moxie to help a team as 8th inning guy or closer. What do you think KC will get for him and are you worried they've identified a guy they can get 2-3 position players for?
  5. Fulmer was 8th overall pick in the draft. Hmmmm ... is that potential still there or is he an abysmal stiff? His line tonight was horrendous again. What do the Sox do with him?
  6. I said: "It's sad stuff but America doesn't truly care to stop it so we won't." That means we don't care to get the guns off the streets so we won't. We don't care to get to the root of why the killers kill so we won't. We don't care to try to be like other countries that don't have these problems so we won't be like them and eradicate the problem. How you can take my sentence and say we can solve the issue by killing the perpetrator immediately is beyond me. I said we know who did it we have irrefutable proof of who did it, in many cases the person ADMITS he did it, so yes sometimes I feel we should just kill him now.
  7. True, but this stuff has to be covered. How can you ignore such massive news? Also it 'might' in some cases help to know who the asshole is who pulled the trigger and why. If it wasn't covered, the parents and people of the community would want to know if there's a present danger or if it was one sole killer, etc.
  8. You are insane IMO. I never said that. I said putting him to death immediately when we KNOW he did it would make me feel better and the victims feel better. You are crazy. Calm down and give me a break. Somebody else on here said he should be killed now less than a page ago and ignoring that, you are incorrectly quoting me from years ago.
  9. Don't get mad at me. I was responding to somebody else's post on here wanting the killer in Texas put to death immediately.
  10. When I came to Chicago for a visit last fall I tried to get into Brother Rice to go say hi to the basketball coach and couldn't get in. I'm sure if I rang the bell, etc., I might have talked my way in, but I was kind of busy and left. But I guess it's nice my visit proved you just can't walk up to a private school and get in any more. I also tried to get in Queen of Martyrs church to look around and the doors were locked and I'm thinking it's because it's connected to a school. Kudos to them. Of course who knows what happens if a madman shoots off the locks and a madman enters.
  11. I've said that in some of my rampages on soxtalk and got fried for my position. I was saying, OK, we know who did it (like the colorado movie asshole; glad I'm forgetting his name), we are POSITIVE who did it, so kill him. We could look up the responses, but I got hammered on here. It's sad stuff but America doesn't truly care to stop it so we won't.
  12. I understand and appreciate your outrage. I've had violent outbursts on soxtalk after some of the shootings. I'm getting numb to it now unfortunately. As far as the media coverage of this, it'd be nice to know nothing about the shooters but as you and I know it's rinse-repeat coverage during crises-es. Coverage of what happened and how it happened; then coverage of the shooter(s), who they are, why they did it (yes they become legendary names forevermore) and also coverage of the heroes. America isn't going to do anything about the problem. America is too split to truly care to solve the problem. What is going to happen (if there's money for it) is schools are going to be like prisons -- impossible to get in, impossible to get out. I wonder how this current clown got the two guns into the building.
  13. I enjoy winning. Nice win, Ricky.
  14. I agree. Yolmer is an all-star utility player. Like Stoney said, he's doing well but Moncada will be our all star.
  15. Must be nice to have a job (Hahn, KW) where you can assemble a mess and be told u are doing a great job. Loss after loss and you'd get a standing ovation in a sox board room and at a Sox fan gathering. Let's see if RH and KW can do enough wheeling and dealing when we get good to put us in contention. There will be a lot of tinkering to do. Our prospects aren't going to be enough unless our next two first round draft picks (2018, 2019) are Trout-like or Sale-like players.
  16. Yes it's time to end that experiment. Bye bye.
  17. No way in heck will that option be picked up. He no good. He does try, though, I'll give him that.
  18. Courtney Hawkins got picked up by the Sugar Land Skeeters. Geez. No big league team even wanted him after we released him.
  19. Four game series? I'd say we win one of four. Two would be a blessing. But I'll say one.
  20. The Sox should take the best possible can't miss prospect when it is their turn. No saving money; none of this under slot b.s. Take the Trout of this group; the Pujols; the Sale. It's that simple, folks. You try to outsmart the system and you take Beckham or some stiff like that.
  21. Wow. This is awful
  22. It's only an opinion. I still said I love Davidson.
  23. greg775 replied to Kyyle23's topic in SLaM
Yeah but the ape genre is already out there now with Planet of the Apes series.
  24. We only have 10 wins. I have a hard time seeing us win 48. I mean that's 38 more victories. This team??
  25. Worst team in Sox history me thinks. At least modern history, last 50 years. I'd say 8 wins a month still looks like the high water possibility for 48 wins. No way this team is winning 60 games; 50 is possible. No more than 52 wins. I'll stick with just under 50 victories.
