AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER!
Would be nice if Lopez keeps pitching like this. As well as the three relievers who have not been awful of late.

Abreu- does he stay or go?
If he's really 3 years older than they say, then I guess he doesn't fit the rebuild. But if his age is correct, keep him around. We will need some veterans who care as much as he does.

Royal Wedding
They are saying the bishop stole the show at the Royal wedding with his American-style sermon. Some are hoping his incredible speech on such a big stage will spark an interest in religion and faith. "Jesus did not get an honorary doctorate for dying." Powerful stuff and nobody could run him off the stage or force him to stop talking about God. Interesting. https://www.usatoday.com/story/life/people/2018/05/19/royal-wedding-black-bishop-discusses-slavery-rousing-address/625643002/

Gun Violence in America
Good post. Surprised he had the guts to post it. I think some businesses would fire you for expressing an opinion publicly and also acknowledging God in this. I would think in the day and age of PC a chief of police might get in trouble for posting this. I feel his pain, though. He is upset as he should be.

2018 Democrats thread
You brought it up, so you tell me what I did that was so wrong. ... The first time I saw the male in high heels and dress (I have no idea if he was a cross dresser or transgender; he wasn't pulling the look off well) I was in the Subway when the person came in, and ate and did not leave or even hurry my dining in order to leave. I just sat and ate. I didn't chat her up, but I almost never have chatted up anybody I don't know when dining alone in a fast food place. Last two times I did it I got rejected. A taco place screwed up my order and gave me an extra burrito and two extra tacos (all I wanted was a burrito and one taco and drink) and I asked a family if they wanted a burrito and they looked like I was trying to rob them. Heaven forbid I not want to waste food. Second time I was at Chipolte and ate about 1/3 of a bag of chips and asked some peeps if they wanted any chips and they looked at me like I was holding them up. ... Second time I was pulling into Subway and saw the guy in high heels and a dress walking into subway and I elected to pull away and not go in. I didn't attack the person; I didn't offend the person. She did not see me make the decision to pull away. I decided I was not up for dining with somebody I found so unattractive. If that makes me horrible, I hope God forgives me. Sorry I didn't do the right thing and go in the restaurant and eat there again. I did the wrong thing in sharing this story as life is supposed to be one big picnic, all the time. Caulfield's post was a cheap shot to greg, implying I'd do something like the person who harassed somebody. That is pretty cruel as I have NEVER exhibited any such behavior in society. I've done nothing but be a respectable citizen at all times. You owe me an apology. I demand an apology. If you refuse to give one, please do not address me again. I actually think that lady filming that incident handled that wrong.

Why would they pay him that kind of jack just to assure losses? You could pitch Fathom and accomplish that for 500,000 a year. It makes no sense to acquire Soria so we'd be sure to lose more, though that in fact was and is a certainty. It's kind of a stretch, IMO to think they'd pay that much money just to make sure we lose. No way he was going to be a flip candidate. He's past that stage of his career. He's just independent league fodder right now. Sox talent evaluators should be worried about their jobs after acquisitions of Soria and Shields.

Fulmer sent to Charlotte
I hope he never returns to the big league club until it's deemed he has big league stuff and big league command. I guess if he's as bad as our current bullpen guys, he could be turned into a middle reliever. But please, never bring him up to the parent club again, unless his arm proves worthy. He's very very poor right now.

Gun Violence in America
Actually this is it. We have to wait for the Millenials to take office and get the weapons off the streets. If the government has a plan to take over the populace, so be it. There's no need for all these weapons. Now, it's probably too late already. The kooks are not going to give up their guns. They will hide them and this leaves the opportunity for students to take their parents' guns to school to kill. The Millenials will eventually take over the house and senate and they might tackle the problem for their kids' sake.

Another blowout loss at home. I stand by my comment that this is the worst team in modern Sox history.

In any universe, his contract screams, "Are you bleeping me?" Can you imagine being that rich and that lousy at your job?

The Rangers figured what the hell, if they are gonna put in Soria we might as well blast him. The postgame food spread can wait.

Gun Violence in America
Yes. It's very sad. Did you see the interview of the 14 year old girl today? CNN or somebody asked her if she was surprised this happened at her school? She said, "No, actually after all the shootings I expected it to happen at my school." It's the new normal and it won't stop. The gun lovers say, "Yeah, but ...." and actually want weapons of mass destruction to be readily available. Since there's a 2 percent chance the government might some day attack the citizenry, we have to have the right to have these weapons of destruction in our hands.

Not to be a dick, but since I've tuned in, it sure seem's like Ricky's boys have quit tonight. It's a cliche so it can be used tonight for sure. They sure look like they quit to me at the at bats I've watched. Oh I know ... it's raining. Excuse time for RR.

2018 White Sox catch-all thread
True. But first of all, the Sox management was at fault in the Sale thing. Money pitcher uncomfortable in jerseys and team doesn't care and will pitch him anyway. Simply insane in this day and age of pitchers getting hurt and being babied. For some reason they draw the line and will make their money man lefty ace pitch in those unis. He warns them, they don't care, so he tears them up. Is willing to pay for them, front office doesn't care; fans, at least the vocal ones, turn on Sale. Secondly, LaRoche in retrospect probably knew he was about finished. He's actually supposed to be a good guy. Does a lot for charity, etc.

2018 AL Central catch all thread
Since tanking is the rage, it's obvious KC will flip Herrera at the deadline. He looks like he definitely has the stuff/moxie to help a team as 8th inning guy or closer. What do you think KC will get for him and are you worried they've identified a guy they can get 2-3 position players for?

Rangers @ White Sox, Moore @ Fulmer, 5/18, 7:10 PM, NBCH+, GT
Fulmer was 8th overall pick in the draft. Hmmmm ... is that potential still there or is he an abysmal stiff? His line tonight was horrendous again. What do the Sox do with him?

Gun Violence in America
I said: "It's sad stuff but America doesn't truly care to stop it so we won't." That means we don't care to get the guns off the streets so we won't. We don't care to get to the root of why the killers kill so we won't. We don't care to try to be like other countries that don't have these problems so we won't be like them and eradicate the problem. How you can take my sentence and say we can solve the issue by killing the perpetrator immediately is beyond me. I said we know who did it we have irrefutable proof of who did it, in many cases the person ADMITS he did it, so yes sometimes I feel we should just kill him now.

Gun Violence in America
True, but this stuff has to be covered. How can you ignore such massive news? Also it 'might' in some cases help to know who the asshole is who pulled the trigger and why. If it wasn't covered, the parents and people of the community would want to know if there's a present danger or if it was one sole killer, etc.
-
Gun Violence in America
You are insane IMO. I never said that. I said putting him to death immediately when we KNOW he did it would make me feel better and the victims feel better. You are crazy. Calm down and give me a break. Somebody else on here said he should be killed now less than a page ago and ignoring that, you are incorrectly quoting me from years ago.

Gun Violence in America
Don't get mad at me. I was responding to somebody else's post on here wanting the killer in Texas put to death immediately.

Gun Violence in America
When I came to Chicago for a visit last fall I tried to get into Brother Rice to go say hi to the basketball coach and couldn't get in. I'm sure if I rang the bell, etc., I might have talked my way in, but I was kind of busy and left. But I guess it's nice my visit proved you just can't walk up to a private school and get in any more. I also tried to get in Queen of Martyrs church to look around and the doors were locked and I'm thinking it's because it's connected to a school. Kudos to them. Of course who knows what happens if a madman shoots off the locks and a madman enters.

Gun Violence in America
I've said that in some of my rampages on soxtalk and got fried for my position. I was saying, OK, we know who did it (like the colorado movie asshole; glad I'm forgetting his name), we are POSITIVE who did it, so kill him. We could look up the responses, but I got hammered on here. It's sad stuff but America doesn't truly care to stop it so we won't.

Gun Violence in America
I understand and appreciate your outrage. I've had violent outbursts on soxtalk after some of the shootings. I'm getting numb to it now unfortunately. As far as the media coverage of this, it'd be nice to know nothing about the shooters but as you and I know it's rinse-repeat coverage during crises-es. Coverage of what happened and how it happened; then coverage of the shooter(s), who they are, why they did it (yes they become legendary names forevermore) and also coverage of the heroes. America isn't going to do anything about the problem. America is too split to truly care to solve the problem. What is going to happen (if there's money for it) is schools are going to be like prisons -- impossible to get in, impossible to get out. I wonder how this current clown got the two guns into the building.
