Geez what a pleasant post that was.
  2. This British guy is awesome.
  3. He's a Paul Konerko clone, folks. I'll take that. THANK YOU RICKY for not using Soria. No question we'd have lost the game had he entered to walk the leadoff hitter, then give up a double, then a homer.
  4. We're now talking on the board about our best players of the rebuild leaving via free agency for sure. Folks ... Chicago is not a small town, small market. The franchise is worth BIG BUCKS. If Moncada and Eloy and some of those pitchers lead us to greatness, they better damn well sign them. Or are we gonna hate on our stud prospects when they hit 29 and 30 like we hate on everybody else 29 and 30.
  5. Kopech and Cease better be damn good and one more of the bunch better be damn good. If we can't get 3 EXCELLENT starters out of this rebuilt group, well heads will roll. Gio looks blah and ReyLo (horrible nickname) might be OK. The bullpen will be rebuilt through acquisitions. You only need to sign 2-3 relievers to be OK there. It'll cost some cash though. I hope we keep all the guys in the rebuild as starters cause if we do, you'd think 3-4 would click.
  6. I can't believe this lousy Sox team went 1-2 vs. the Cubs. You get that one win it looks a lot different than the expected 0-3. We still stink but Davidson is a god, small g. Glad he went with Rondon to close. Soria obviously would have had no chance. Since I am apt to blast Ricky and the team a lot, I'll offer praise tonight. I couldn't bring myself to watch any of the game, though. Waited for the highlights.
  7. I've decided Matt is a Paulie clone for certain. Good career coming folks.
  8. I give Amy Schumer credit. Her standup before and after the Trump election has sucked. She has seemed an annoying b**** in public and in her act. Last night I thought she reinvented herself nicely on SNL. She had a funny, non politico monologue in which she came across as funny, even cute. Her performance in the actual skits was excellent and even funny. Nice reinvention. Nice performance.

See, some of us don't think it's necessary to be this bad and just throw away 3-4 seasons. The Sox better be as good a team EVERY year of the title window to make up for how bad they are last year and now and for a few more years to come.
  10. Once the kids are old enough, just take them to way more Sox games than Cub games, watch way more Sox games on TV than Cub games and the kids will come around. I could be mistaken, but I doubt the wife will be as persistent in taking the kids to games as you would be. If she demands to go to 10 Cub games a summer with the family, however, you could be screwed.
  11. Like I said, why bother to hustle when you are already out of the race? There are repercussions to tanking, folks. Deal with them.
  12. What has the world come to when people are publicly mocking people for the fact they're going to die soon? Geez. Get some class, government officials!
  13. I wonder if Coop has told Nate what a fool he's been for never fixing that gawd-horrific delivery of his. It's not like he's been healthy or that good pitching like that. All he has to do is copy some other pitchers' delivers for gosh sake.
  14. Say what you want about Ozzer-oo, we were winners back then. Team had a winning mentality. Kudos to Mark B, Konerko, Frank, Robin (the player only), Dye, AJP, Jenks, and tons of others I failed to mention. GO SOX!

Nobody seems to care about that, anymore. That used to be the Sox fear, that they had to be good to stay relevant at all. Now with the TV contracts this huge, there doesn't seem to be a concern about fans or crowds, etc. They believe and are probably right in that the crowds will pick up and we'll fill the building when we get good again.

All I can hope is the media mocks the White Sox. The fans stay away in droves and wear paper bags. Stuff like that. If they are going to put us through a "worst-ever in Sox history" 110 loss season, they should pay for it as well. Of course the GM has it made. If anybody calls them on this being crap, they can just slyly wink and whisper, 'This is what we want, Mr. Reinsdorf. The No. 1 pick will be beneficial.''' I don't believe in this strategy.
  17. It amazes me how a couple posters truly hate greg. Soxfan49 hates me. I'm just a Sox fan, soxfan49. I want us to win.
  18. You are my twin. I endorse these comments by WBWSF.
  19. Enjoy the game? How?
  20. This is the no hitter this series.
  21. I was thinking the other day ... I have no desire to hold a gun or shoot a gun ever. It's not on my bucket list. I do have some friends who hunt pheasant in the hills of Kansas though. And I have fished in my life and sort of enjoy fishing. But what's the big allure of guns? F--k guns. I don't need 'em. None of us need 'em. Peace, baby. We need to be like Europeans and not want to possess firearms.
  22. Did the U.S. blow up the mountain? I missed that one. Pretty cool if we actually damaged their progress toward nuclear engagement. It was kind of scary those weeks when the nutjob was threatening to send some missiles to our mainland and Hawaii.
  23. Man, baseball is an unforgiving sport. Adam was a pretty good ballplayer. Hurt all the time.
  24. I do. But I am a Sox fan and I don't like our season being over in early May. And 17 under .500 already. I mean good grief. Also I'm starting to get mad at the severity of the rebuild. I mean it's not like we're guaranteed to draft well. I know we allegedly don't want to be anywhere near .500 during the rebuild years, but it is embarrassing and annoying to suck like this. We've already made the bulk of the trades. We're not going to "flip anybody" on this roster worth a damn. I guess we could still trade Jose A and Beef. But Nate's not bringing anybody; Avi at this rate isn't bringing anybody. Soria for gosh sake isn't bringing anybody. So that only leaves the draft pick as reason to want us to suck and that's not a good enough reason to win 48 games. Finally ... heads should roll over paying Soria what the Sox are paying him. I know I want the front office to pay big bucks at all times to players, but some of the folks on this board who don't want the Sox to ever spend money should be FURIOUS over this waste of money in Soria. Why give him that kind of 'jack?' The man could not strike out Fathom.
  25. If you are semi wealthy, do u have season tix? Can I have some tix for when I return to Chicago for a game or two?
