It's a chicken and egg argument. Some fans like to win games and can't just write off seasons. I don't think that makes them bad fans. Not everybody can 'embrace the suck.' It's very difficult to do IMO.

He may be implying Jake was a bit sloppy in his rehab, maybe not wearing the brace/boot. Sox have to move on. Jake's gonna be 23 next April. He probably won't play his age 23 season. He'll need age 24 season in AA or AAA. He'll be a MLB rookie at 25 if all goes well and he stays in good shape thru all this, etc. Sign Moose and go from there.

Poor guy. Not much you can say. He's 22 and out of action a long while. Will he be back for spring training? I like his bat but obviously Sox will have to move on. I'd expect a Moose signing and if Burger ever makes it back he'll be traded. Best luck JB.

The old way should have worked fine. We won it in 05 and if you recall, everybody had us penciled in for continued sccess. It's the front office's fault for sucking and not keeping us atop a lousy division for years to come. I mean it's not my fault they failed at their jobs. Just as now you are hoping suddenly the front office can get this right doing it this way. I prefer the old way in which we should be good every year and then suddenly in a magic year catch lightning with good players having their career year and us winning it all!!!!

I love Lip Man but I find this interesting. You guys are on Ozzie for "quitting" on his team in a meaningless last week of the season. Yet Hahn purposely wants to lose 110 games this year. That's not "quitting on the team?" It's all relative. Ozzie had worn out his welcome. The Sox brass wanted to move on from the Ozzie era. Everybody knew it. Ozzie made the change possible by taking the Miami job. Quit on the team? What are several people in the Sox organization doing right now??? They quit so much we were out of the race two weeks into the season.

Ozzie's problem is nobody could convince him to shut up. He was a great baseball player. A great baseball mind as manager. The players loved him. The fans loved him. My point is we won a WS the old way of doing things. Why? One year everything went right (and we still almost blew it late in September). We all will be thrilled if we get one WS out of this rebuild. So why sacrifice 4-6 years of SUCKING totally for the 'chance' we might be dominant and win one WS? We could do it the normal way and acquire good players, develop some of our players and win a crappy division. Once you win the division you could catch lightning like 05 for gosh sakes.

It seems to me the managers have sucked, the GM's moves have sucked and the acquisitions have sucked prior to the rebuild acquisitions. I think we should be able to rule the division withot the tank/rebuild. You folks should be upset if Kopech is called up now. What good will it be to have a Sale-like star on a 100-loss team? Even Royals spent money. Even Cubs spent money. NY spends money; both teams. As far as not winnin' since 08, I blame our scouts, our front office, our owner. They have acquired stiffs. All you need to do is win your division, people and our division is not special.

This should really anger some of you. MaKes no sense for a one-day promotion to win a game when we are tryin' to lose every other nite.
