  1. For the general reason folks want to win. I like for my team to win. I can't help it.
  2. This reliever Diaz is good, but our hitters blow chunks.
  3. I agree but it'll never happen. Owners love playing close to home 19 times a season.
  4. Good point, but I'm irritable cause I want wins.
  5. Does Stoney have a cold? He sounds funny. Also a bit irritable on that last comment.
  6. That's cause you and flavum are intelligent peeps who realize it is a huge problem. As a Sox fan I am furious they are lining Jerry's pockets with this low payroll. You can still rebuild and play .480 baseball. As badly as the White Sox have drafted, it is ridiculous to make sure you get a top 3 pick. Nothing wrong with a 8, 9, 10 pick if you do it right. We, for instance, could have a real outfield instead of this crap. There's no reason to be developing Engel, Trayce or Leury. Yolmer is a nice piece but he doesn't need 480-540 at bats either. And who are we developing on the mound? Sox could have acquired some guys who can get people out and go .480 and still be "rebuilding." Tanking reeks.
  7. USA Today wrote today that 7 or 9 teams (I forget which) already are out of the playoff race with no chance for the playoffs. Embarrassing. I wish teams that tank would be fined severely.
  8. Weren't there only like 2 people stirring things up ripping Moncada? One or two? Everybody else either was loving on him or just being calm. A couple pointed out his struggles right handed with advanced stats as proof, which shouldn't bother anybody. All the other Sox hitters get scrutinized the same way so no big deal. I didn't sense anybody saying Moncada blows.
  9. That's right. We also can thank them for 05, but that turned out to be fate or whatever you want to call it. It ended up being a one year wonder(ful) experience.
  10. I didn't insult or slander anybody. Geez. Not my style. However I did stand up for Davidson big time. The eye test and my $$$ mlb subscription showed me big hit after big hit from Matt. Yes the haters were right apparently but I didn't insult anybody just tried to praise Matt D.
  11. Got half of it right; forgot to take into consideration the shadows. But I had our anemic lineup down pat as well as the L.
  12. I was wrong on Matty. I thought he'd be special. Like I said, baseball is an unforgiving game. Eight wins a month folks ... that equals 48 wins max on the SouthSide this year.
  13. I was right on anybody seeing today's lineup reeked. I was wrong on the over cause of the shadows. My bad. But Ricky needs to get a clue.
  14. I love Hector and wish they'd switch him to starter pronto. Even though we do need bullpen guys, too.
  15. Trayce is looking like another Engel as in automatic out. Sure looks like he can't hit a fastball and just gets blown away. Baseball is such a tough sport. Too hard for most to hit that cylinder.

I won't look at all the stats, but Abreu is quietly putting up what has to be one of the best five-year stretches in Sox history. .317, 36, 107; .290, 30, 101; .293, 25, 100; .304, 33, 102; and .308, 6, 12 so far this year. Knock on wood for this season.
  17. I forgot about the shadows in making my prediction. However, I was right about our weak lineup today.
  18. Are our prospects already dropping in stature? I never saw Cease's name til this year. People were thinking he might be a possibility, now we're counting on him to be a star? I thought Fulmer and Rodon were supposed to be special. Are we already dropping them down?
  19. No. Even those "experts" in Vegas don't refund money. Those guys who have the 7 a.m. fake talk show infomercials on sports radio on Sat and sunday mornings. They charge huge bucks and if they are wrong they are wrong. Too bad. But I have a feel for the White Sox and am offering free of charge w/no guarantees. If you win you could always forward me 40 percent. Thank u kindly!
  20. And please return to my thread postgame and give me credit where it's due. I'm out to win u folks some $$.
  21. Don't like today's lineup one bit. Bet the house on the M's and the over in a parlay. Only way we win? Moncada would have to single-handedly carry the team today and somehow we outslug them say, 11-9. Frankly I see 9 as a very low number for the opponent considering who we are starting and what we've got behind him.
  22. I want Sale and Madison B off that list. Forget Machado. He's staying in AL East. Only other team might have a chance is Mets.
  23. Damn a victory finally. I did think this lineup appeared a little bit better than the regular ones of Ricky. Still the only reason we won is we actually got a quality start. That's why I think we're only gonna win about 8 games a month. No starting pitching.
  24. Abreu and Avi would be here because they (sort of) are part of the rebuilt WS team. It seems like no decision has been made on that yet. Miguel was a head scratcher. I am thinking front office thought they needed somebody to eat up some innings besides the bullpen hacks. Miguel sort of fit that description. Between he and Shields, one of the two (on paper) would be an inning eater during this gawd-awful season. Soria? Another head scratcher. Not sure why they thought they needed one "established" reliever to go with Nate. Really doesn't make much sense. Maybe they felt a payroll at 40 million might cause riots or something. 60 million is amazingly cheap but it's not 40 million.
