  1. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Oct 23, 2016 -> 12:53 PM) Don't think Cruz beats Clinton. He's not well liked by anyone and too much of a religious conservative to win a national election. The FBI simply won't indict a candidate of the president's party unless it's a crystal clear case like Watergate where the entire process of governing has been subverted. Questionable judgment is a different standard. Thing is ... Trump just went on stage at the debates and blew them away with insults and saying how great he was and how he'd be the only one who could beat Hillary. He single handedly pared the field and turned Cruz into what was perceived as an idiot/clown. Had Trump not run, just think, one of the real politicians would have been the republican candidate, assuming Cruz or Bush beat out Carson or Fiorina. So with Trump out of the running maybe Cruz would have caught on or Fabio.
  2. QUOTE (Tony @ Oct 23, 2016 -> 02:12 AM) 11 women have now come out, and with less than 20 days left, Trump is still kinda sorta in this race. With all the s*** he has said, as dangerous of a person he truly is, this is sorta a blip on the radar. Donald Trump made an offer to a porn star to have sex? COLOR ME SHOCKED!!! The Republicans should have figured out a way to "rig" the nomination process like the DNC did to burn Bernie. Anybody but Trump probably would have beaten Hillary. Maybe the FBI would have actually done the right thing and recommended charges if the Repubs had gotten behind Bush or Kasisch or Cruz. They let Donald whittle the field down single handedly. He made Bush seem like a bozo at the debates; he turned Cruz into a cartoon and nobody gave Kasisch a chance. Cruz would have beaten Clinton if Trump hadn't been around attacking Cruz and all the others at the Repub debates.
  3. QUOTE (whitesoxjr27 @ Oct 23, 2016 -> 05:32 AM) This is the best one yet. Girl who looked to be in her early twenties starts crying about how she has been waiting for this her whole life. I thought about the 80 year old who also has been waiting. Shut up lady. Haha Geez, that's pathetic. Chicago really has turned around the city of losers thing. With the Cubs now, and the Blackhawks having all those titles/parades and the White Sox winning 11 years ago and the Bears still having a title in modern history and the Bulls having all those titles in modern history, Chicago has turned it around nicely compared to before 85 when the Bears busted the city of losers image.
  4. Cubs have a much better roster. I didn't watch any of the AL playoff games for some reason so I have no idea if Cleveland has been playing great baseball like the Royals did last year. I just don't see any weaknesses on the Cubs team. You know maybe if Schwarber actually gets activated that will screw up their chemistry or something. Other than that I think the Cubs will win it in five. They'll split in Cleveland and Cubs will win 3 in a row in Wrigley. I wonder why baseball goes 2-3-2 instead of 2-2-1-1-1 I guess homefield could matter. It is important. Cleveland's only hope IMO is if their fans really do throw the Cubs off and Cleveland wins the first two then takes one in Wrigley to go up 3-2 heading into the final two in Cleveland. If the series opens 1-1 or 2-0 Cubs, forget it. Cubs starting pitching is pretty damn good. I can't believe many thought a team with 1 starter, Kershaw, would beat the Cubs. Rich Hill? Please he'd have gotten lit up Sunday.
  5. QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Oct 23, 2016 -> 04:56 AM) well the dodgers are a dreadful baseball team thanks for f***ing nothing go indians You are right. The Dodgers really looked like a flawed ballclub. You know, everybody besides the Cubs this postseason has looked like a pretty ordinary roster. Maybe the Sox just need a good manager or some magic to contend. Dodgers and Giants had nothing special on the mound or in the field. Conor Gillaspie? The stiffs the Dodgers were sending to the plate and pitching? I wish we had a special manager. We don't. QUOTE (soxforlife05 @ Oct 23, 2016 -> 05:11 AM) The bullpen was lucky for sure. A lot of retread vets had great years like Dye and Everett as well. I never wanted Ozzie gone. Cmon I hate what's happened to the White Sox, but the 05 Sox were not lucky in any way. It was one of the most dominant performances in postseason history as a matter of fact. Luck had NOTHING to do with it. Far from it. We dominated.
  6. QUOTE (soxforlife05 @ Oct 23, 2016 -> 04:44 AM) I'm upset we are stuck with incompetent ownership and management with no hope of the necessary changes being made for the foreseeable future. Multiple World Series wins for the Cubs and this team will never recover. The 2005 team was complete luck given how badly they squandered a huge opportunity to grow the fan base. Not total luck. You guys despise Ozzie but he did a helluva job managing that team and not yanking starters when they were hot and overmanaging. Also we had very very good starting pitching and played clean baseball and had some big hits. All those games against the Astros were clean and close and we had a deserving team. Never forget how we dominated the postseason. It wasn't luck. However ... I do agree with much of what you said.
  7. QUOTE (iWin4Ron @ Oct 23, 2016 -> 04:40 AM) No fights that I could see. Just a LOT of people. More came towards the 9th and end of the game. Cars honking horns constantly in cheer. Beer spraying kinda sucked, but only a few did that. Left as I'm not much of a party animal and don't like big groups of people, also wanted to get home for work in the early am for the lady. Overall, a great atmosphere if one is into that kind of thing. Every bar around was packed throughout the game. Cool. I'm surprised real people would waste their beer and spray it. I wonder how many people will get pulled over tonight and have to take breathalizers just cause they smell of beer. You get sprayed you can't avoid it. Not a better scenario for a fan. Saturday night way before midnight. Party time.
  8. QUOTE (iWin4Ron @ Oct 23, 2016 -> 04:35 AM) WOOOHOO Nice job Cubs, I was out there on Waveland cheering you guys on in the 9th, had a blast. Only issue was with a few people beer-spraying us, but man what a joy. Now end the indians and the White sox will be burried, unfortunately. Were there any fights? What's going on out there? Why did you leave?
  9. So as a Sox fan how do you feel on a scale of 1-10? I feel a 3. Happy for the people who never had a title and this proves Chicago is a great sports town again. So many titles in recent history. However as a Sox fan I'm mad. Our team blows right now and thought hiring Robin Ventura was a good idea. Morons.
  10. Does Billy Williams work for the Cubs? Boy the remodel really gave the Cubs a nice locker room. Holy s***.
  11. QUOTE (hi8is @ Oct 23, 2016 -> 04:21 AM) What are they doing? I stopped following this thread when the Dodgers didn't throw Kershaw for game 4 or 5. No urgency. They should fire LA manager. What a joke. Too passive, like the Sean Penn character in Fast Times at Ridgmont High.
  12. If Deadpool is female, my name is Zsa Zsa Gabor. No chance.
  13. That Sox fan should have never been interviewed on WGN. He should be ashamed of himself. Put Cub fans on.
  14. QUOTE (iamshack @ Oct 23, 2016 -> 03:58 AM) I don't think many Sox fans are mad or upset about the Cubs play or their organization right now. If anything, most of us are envious of their competent leadership. It's just the fan stuff that gets under peoples' skin. I'm upset. Because our organization did nothing but stupid s*** as the Cubs were pathetic and rebuilding the right way. The Cub rebuild finally ended at a time the Sox suck.
  15. QUOTE (Tony @ Oct 23, 2016 -> 03:53 AM) Surprised the Sox twitter mentioned the Cubs. Not sure the upside of that. Sox are irrelevant. Doesn't matter what they tweet as long as it's not, "f*** the Cubs." Or "We Won One First." That'd be sour grapes. Other than that, we are irrelevant baby.
  16. QUOTE (fathom @ Oct 23, 2016 -> 03:39 AM) Truly think it means very little if they don't win it all Fathom. It can't be stopped. They are going to beat Cleveland. And just making the WS is huge in the history of sports. All those years ... Cubs finally in WS.
  17. We're witnessing history, folks. This will never be forgotten in Chicago sports history and the history of baseball. Get ready to remember where you were when the Cubs won the pennant. No riots in Chicago. Hope all the old people in the stadium get home safely.
  18. QUOTE (Deadpool @ Oct 23, 2016 -> 03:32 AM) I LOVE good baseball. Many people I love like the Cubs. I want the cubs to win for them and I want the White Sox to follow them and rebuild their organization right. You don't like it, tough. I will continue to call you out for your petulance. Are you serious? He's not petulant. He's smart. f*** the Cubs. Fathom is consistent in his hatred of the Cubs and we all need to respect it!
  19. QUOTE (whitesoxjr27 @ Oct 23, 2016 -> 03:31 AM) My friend texted me that the cubby bear is charging a 100 bucks at the door. Wow. And people are forking it over like it's one dollar. Bandwagon, baby.
  20. QUOTE (Deadpool @ Oct 23, 2016 -> 03:29 AM) Oh, fathom. Life wouldn't be complete without you and your butthurt attitude. I like fathom's attitude. A true Sox fan can't condone our ineptitude vs. them winning a f***ing WS.
  21. Any live streams from the Chicago networks, guys? I want to watch the local coverage of this. Anywhere I can turn online?
  22. What will it be like to be a Sox fan on the day of the parade? That has to be weird. If any of you have vacation time, might be a good time to head to Hawaii or the Bahamas for a couple weeks.
  23. Cub fans sure didnt want to see Henricks leave that game. That gasp from the crowd was pretty cool when Maddon left the dugout.
  24. So if you are an announcer on the Cubs radio or national TV here, how do you handle the final out?? I really hope they don't mention the Billy Goat or the curse. So predict it, folks. The call of the final out: "Strike three. The curse is over. The Cubs are in the World Series!" Or "What curse? The Cubs win the National League pennant!" Finally ... "The Billy Goat curse has been put to rest! Cubs win the pennant!" Or Billy Coat curse? Baaaaaaaaaa Humbug! Cubs win the NL pennant!"
  25. QUOTE (Footlongcomiskeydog @ Oct 23, 2016 -> 01:27 AM) Why didn't the Dodgers pitch Kershaw in game 5 again? They really thought they were gonna come into Wrigley and completely shut down the Cubs bats for two straight games? That's when I knew the series was over. Dodgers played it way too passively. You can't underestimate this Cubs team which they did and the Giants did. The Cubs roster is so much better than anybody else's this postseason. Dodgers conceded the series by holding Kershaw for Game Six. There was a slight chance he'd have won Game Five and made it 3-2 LA. QUOTE (Deadpool @ Oct 23, 2016 -> 02:38 AM) Seriously, where have the last ten years gone? I'd have never guessed we wouldn't make the playoffs once since our WS title. It's truly hard to believe.
