  1. It's a good trade cause we got rid of Navarro. One down, many more to deal.
  2. QUOTE (Lip Man 1 @ Aug 27, 2016 -> 04:36 AM) 19th time this year the Sox lost a game when allowing an opponent three runs or less. Sale has got to be talking to himself by now. He should have 19 wins. Mark He must be pissed 14 Ks and no chance of winning. Pathetic team. Pathetic organization.
  3. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Aug 26, 2016 -> 12:12 PM) I have no idea what trigger warnings or safe spaces are, but I still don't get how this will stop protesters from disrupting speeches. If 300 kids come in chanting and screaming and refuse to leave a speech, are they actually going to arrest them? Is that what this is hinting at? I think definitely those people busting up a speech would be kicked out or arrested.
  4. QUOTE (Lip Man 1 @ Aug 26, 2016 -> 03:39 AM) Nice to see the Sox give me a present on my birthday! 12th game this year the Sox have won when trailing in the 7th inning or later. Mark That's more come from behind wins than I thought. I wonder how many were early in the season when we were good.
  5. The university tells the students. ... "Our commitment to academic freedom means that we do not support so-called 'trigger warnings,' we do not cancel invited speakers because their topics might prove controversial, and we do not condone the creation of intellectual 'safe spaces' where individuals can retreat from ideas and perspectives at odds with their own," the letter said. Kids are going to have to grow up fast if they want to attend the University of Chicago. There will be no coddling of students at U of C. http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/local/b...0825-story.html
  6. Man, Lochte got charged. He could face 18 months in a Brazilian prison. We wouldn't be mean enough to extradite him would we? He didn't harm anybody. No way our government should make him go over there to serve his debt. I mean if he hurt somebody, yeah, but cmon. Send $10,000 bucks more over there for damages and an apology. Lochte cost himself huge sponsorship money for one night of drinking. People make mistakes. He made a big one. Here are my quick takes on the enjoyment of the Games. Please list your comments. Basketball: USA women always massacre the opposition. A plus. Men had some close games but the last game was a thing of beauty so the USA gets an A. Beach volleyball: The USA women were great sports and did a fine job. Hard to win on Brazilian sand against Brazil. I'll give them a B-plus for getting the bronze. Gymnastics women: Simone Biles is flawless gymnast. A plus. Whole team gets an A for winning team gold. Diving: Boring event. D. Swimming: Phelps is a beast. he gets a solid A. Lochte gets a B for his performance in the pool. Ladecki gets an A plus. Track: USA always does well. A solid A for Team USA. Bolt however gets an A-plus as one of the most dominant athletes in history. Can't think of any other sports. NBC: Too many commercials. D. Late night show with Ryan Secrest: Pretty upbeat. B. But too many commercials. Bob Costas: B. He's pretty solid. GO USA!
  7. Nice comeback win by the Sox. Tons of big hits by Anderson, Frazier, etc. Horrific starting pitching by the Sox but it doesn't matter. An exciting come from behind win. I'm guessing we haven't had many combacks from three runs down that late in a game. Meaningless victory but I'll take it. Good job Sox.
  8. I wonder if the morons who ran onto the field were juveniles. I mean what adult is dumb enough to run onto the field when he/she knows it means serious charges in court? If they are juveniles, how stupid, but I could see how a teenager would be dumb enough to not know it's a serious crime.
  9. Good job by Frazier. He seems better than a .210-.215 hitter. Weird.
  10. Guaranteed Rate Field is a total embarrassment, one of the lowest moments in Chicago sports history. However ... it should immediately be nicknamed Great Field as somebody said. Case closed.
  11. Damn, a comeback. Nice hit Frazier.
  12. Way to pick a fastball and drill it, Tim.
  13. Cmon Anderson, no chasing of curves.
  14. Bad call. That's the game right there.
  15. That's an error for sure but he actually might have beat that out the way he was trying to glove it off balance.
  16. Why is Shuck on this team? Give his at bats to some young guy.
  17. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Aug 26, 2016 -> 01:03 AM) Frazier apparently can't hit the ball anymore At least Anderson is back up to .280. Frazier down to under .210 again at .208. Man he really is all or nothing. Home run or weak out or K. Is he valuable or not? 30 plus homers but a pathetic average guy. So is a guy like that valuable or not?
  18. What is he 5-16? He has to lose his rotation spot. Nobody's gonna have him lose 20 games.
  19. QUOTE (miracleon35th @ Aug 25, 2016 -> 06:32 AM) This is just another opportunity for trolls to try to spin this in some negative way. The fact is that naming rights have been around as long as inflated player salaries have been. Look around ANY major league ballpark and see signs for WINTRAUST, NUVEEN, Budweiser, XFinity,... plastered on everything in and around the ballpark. It's just part of the business. Fans don't have to call Sox Park anything but Sox Park or Comiskey. I certainly won't. Trolls? Look at all the people on here who think this is a disgrace. What is Guaranteed Rate? Nobody's ever heard of the company. It should be spun in a negative way BTW, it's embarrassing.
  20. QUOTE (Hatchetman @ Aug 24, 2016 -> 08:34 PM) I finally got used to calling it "the cell." Can we just call it Sox Park? Yes we can. QUOTE (coco1997 @ Aug 24, 2016 -> 09:01 PM) Maybe people will nickname it the Grate? As in "G. Rate?" Really grasping at straws here. Grate Field would be an OK nickname. I bet it'd bother Guaranteed Rate people, though. What a stupid lowrent company to buy naming rights. QUOTE (jasonxctf @ Aug 24, 2016 -> 09:02 PM) Wow, this is f***ing sad. Some 3rd tier mortgage company/broker/business. Couldn't get Walgreens, a big time bank, airline, Fortune 500 co?? They end up with some shady mortgage broker?? Amen. It's ridiculous.
  21. Shields stinks; Sox lose. Team continues its lousy season. Should be interesting to see which lousy relievers the Sox sign this offseason and which 3-4 veteran players they acquire to replace some of the stiffs.
  22. Prediction. Pop up as he'll be trying to hit another homer.
  23. Way to go, Avi. It's 5-3 should be 4-3 if not for minor leaguer Kahnle.
  24. I have gained respect for Frazier. Nice job keeping it alive.
  25. Is Coats any good or is he another stiff?
