  1. Lotta pitches doesn't bode well with our bullpen, but at least please get out of this jam.
  2. Should be out of the inning if not for horrendous defense.
  3. This is a bad matchup for the Sox. It's got to be one of those rare games in Vegas where the visitors have to be favored. This smells like a 6-0 or 6-1 loss if Rodon pitches well, possibly one of those 8-0 or 9-0 losses at home if Rodon blows tonight. This is one of those 60 you just pencil in as an L.
  4. QUOTE (WhiteSoxLifer @ Aug 6, 2016 -> 08:05 PM) See robin is in his last year so unless he gets a extentions hes probably not back. Next hahn is probably going to do interviews and that can take some time. Plus if they have guys thats on other teams like bench coaches to interview they have to get permission from the team. Not a just hire someone and be done kinda decision. again realize jerry is probably going to have some say in it. Heck robin was offered the job and he had no previous experience and didnt want the job. Ugh. I don't like the process. Whoever you think is THE guy, think about it now and make it happen quickly after the season. Cutting the list to five and interviewing them will guarantee us s***. The Royals did that and got Trey Hillman. He interviewed the best and had a vision. You all know I want Leyland or LaRussa. Talk them into returning with $$$$. What about Girardi? Surely the Yanks are sick of him by now. Or Gardy?
  5. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Aug 6, 2016 -> 07:04 PM) More BS from Sox management SOS. I hope Hahn has somebody in mind for manager. He shouldn't care if Robin finds out he's already looking. There's no reason to worry about offending Robin. Decide who you want as manager and announce it right after the season. This mess isn't all Robin's fault, but the dysfunctional losses and weird stretches of baseball dictate his removal.
  6. Any news on protests/riots in Chicago? Looks like Chicago natives at least are not interested in rioting over incidents like this one, thank goodness.
  7. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Aug 6, 2016 -> 07:40 PM) Guys guys guys, the media made Carson into this bad guy. Yet you guys have no interest in seeing what he had to say on Hannity. The best and brightest cannot run for President anymore cause the media will not rest until all opponents of the favored Democratic candidate have been appropriately buried and tagged as nutjobs/totally unfit for office.
  8. If the Sox bust up their solid to excellent rotation it's going to take a long long long time to re-build that part of the team. I see no solutions because the defense is still bad, the bullpen reeks and the offense is bad. Too many holes that can only be filled with first-round draft picks (if they pan out). I see a long long stint of futility coming.
  9. QUOTE (ptatc @ Aug 6, 2016 -> 03:21 AM) You a partially corrdct. The version of football we know is dying. There is far too much money in the NFL for them not to have it. They will always find a way to keep it going. But aside from kids in Texas and Alabama, whose going to be out there to play the game? I guess those states could produce enough NFL players. Parents simply cannot allow their kids to play this sport. You basically are assuring your child a shorter life and brain misery, possibly dementia. The sport is dead in 10-20 years unless as I said Texas churns out enough talent to fill NFL rosters.
  10. QUOTE (Tony @ Aug 6, 2016 -> 07:41 AM) It's easy to pick up 1 or 2 things and call someone a nut job, yet you can't name me one thing that makes him "remarkable", aside from appearing on FoxNews and having a medical degree. I'm waiting... Well, I guess I'm going to have to replay the interview, cause during the whole interview I was incredibly impressed. I remember that. At this time I can't remember specific lines, since my mind is mush after watching a lot of political shoutfest shows this week as well as Olympic crap. I am a huge Carson fan now.
  11. QUOTE (ChiliIrishHammock24 @ Aug 6, 2016 -> 04:29 AM) With the Sox loss tonight, they remain with the 12th pick. 1 GB of the Royals for 11th 1.5 GB of the Phillies for 10th (If they hold on to win) 13 GB of the Braves for the 1st pick Don't even worry about the Royals. They will storm past us following NINE more head to head meetings. Phils have a better team than we do, also. I think we could get the third or fourth pick before all is said and done. Our team is that bad.
  12. QUOTE (Lip Man 1 @ Aug 6, 2016 -> 03:41 AM) Sox were in the game until Robin brought in Kahnle with predictable results. Says a few things: 1. The state of the Sox bullpen that this guy is even on the roster (and you can throw Turner in there as well) 2. The state of the Sox minor league system that there are basically no other options. It is what it is, isn't it? Mark We've had so many bad relievers the past few seasons it's hard to believe. I don't follow all teams closely but I assume all lousy teams have some incredibly bad pitchers in the bullpen. I don't know how players don't have higher batting averages than they do with all this crap taking the mound nowadays. And fourth and fifth starters? Some of them are so so bad.
  13. LOL. Just saw Hillary on TV at a Journalist-sponsored event today and she gets a loud, rousing round of applause after the event. I cannot believe the bias in our country. No Republican will ever be president again. It's just too stacked against anybody but a Democrat. Crazy. The media must be 90 percent Democrat. Please give me Jesse Ventura. Now!
  14. QUOTE (Tony @ Aug 5, 2016 -> 09:19 PM) Yet that's EXACTLY what you are doing, Greg. How do you not see that? Tell us about Ben Carson, Greg. Tell us what you know, aside from being a surgeon. I watched a long interview with him and with a host who was not out to trap Carson or belittle Carson, he did a fine job and said many intelligent things. It's easy to pick out 1, 2 comments and make somebody a nutjob. Watch his interview on Hannity and tell me he's not a brilliant man. To think all the money he spent on a campaign that resulted in his being considered a wacky nutjob. It's unfair. He's a remarkable surgeon and American. This is why the best and brightest should never run for President. Unless you have clout and the media's backing like Hillary, you basically are ruining your life and your reputation by running.
  15. Boy our team stinks. Don't know what they are gonna do to fix things. Five runs isn't bad, yet we lose by two. How can Robin even enjoy his job? You'd think he'd want out of this by now. It can't be fun watching such a bad team night after night.
  16. Let's face it folks, football is all but dead. Numbers of kids being allowed to play is down. You are pretty much guaranteed numerous concussions if you play. Parents aren't going to let their kids play in the future. Think about it. Starting in high school through college a football player would be lucky to not have double digit concussions. Then the speed of the NFL? Cmon concussions on almost every play. This sport has about 20 years left, max. Maybe flag football will take its place. Seriously. ... Because of concussions, this sport is on the way out. I'd think hockey would be in jeopardy too. Only way both will survive ... if the states of Texas and Alabama can churn out enough players to sustain the NFL and college football it "might" last more than 20 years. Hockey? I guess if Canadiens and Russians don't care about concussions and keep playing and supplying players it "might" last a while.
  17. Is boxing still in the Olympics? It should be. It was cool to watch boxing.
  18. QUOTE (bmags @ Aug 5, 2016 -> 08:12 PM) Yeah that whole intern fiasco was really swept under the rug. I'm talking about now. Bill is going to be in the White House and his character could be questioned over and over if the media wanted to do that. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Aug 5, 2016 -> 08:18 PM) Ok, Hannity is s***. Stop referencing Hannity. Hannity is the hypocrite to end all hypocrites. And the GOP spent $7 million dollars on Benghazi, thats not off easy. Finally, do you remember how much s*** Michelle Obama got? Or I dunno, how much s*** First Lady Hillary Clinton got? If I can't reference Hannity, who the heck do you guys accept? Meghan Kelly? Meghan McCain? Rush? Give me a list of those you'll listen to. Hannity is at least as qualified as Chris "I love Hillary" Matthews.
  19. Been thinking about this since I heard it on Hannity ... Media has gone after Trump's wife aggressively. How come Bill is off limits? Why aren't we hearing story after story about his mistresses and getting their stories? Also stories on how Hillary's marriage partner was a predator. Monica may have been over 21 but she was a fricking intern. That's predatorish behavior by Bill. If Trump's family is under fire, the media at least could aggressively pursue the Bill is a womanizer theme. There's no way after Monica he became Mr. Faithful. Doesn't work that way. How bout uncovering some mistresses, etc., and interviewing them. Hillary got off on Benghazi. No hard questions. She got off on the email thing. No hard questions. All she gets is love from the media.
  20. QUOTE (Brian @ Aug 5, 2016 -> 12:45 PM) He can be and he is. Pyramids house grain for Jesus? Wtf I stand by my comment that he's brilliant. He got no positive coverage because he's Republican IMO. The media did not want to create a new Obama candidate, somebody to take the country by storm. It was Hillary's turn in the media's eyes and they want eight years of Hillary. QUOTE (CrimsonWeltall @ Aug 5, 2016 -> 02:04 PM) That's what he is. Carson may be a brilliant surgeon, but he knows nothing about political issues, he's a nutjob conspiracy theorist, and has wacko religious beliefs. He's not a nutjob. You can't judge a guy off a few sound bites.
  21. QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Aug 5, 2016 -> 05:55 PM) Bovada has Clinton -350. Yeesh. Trump should drop out now. Vegas is never wrong on something this important. This means the race is over and there's no reason for Donald to even proceed. He's defeated. Should drop out and give somebody else a chance.
  22. QUOTE (Tony @ Aug 5, 2016 -> 06:18 AM) According to polling numbers, and not just "your feeling", you would be wrong. The poll I saw 65 percent of Americans think she is untrustworthy. She's the best of two bad candidates apparently according to 65 percent. I'm actually stunned at Soxtalk's support of Hillary. I can hardly believe it actually. Smart people on here. I mean I can't vote for either; some on here actually seem happy Hillary is running rather than just preferring her over Mr. Negative SoundBite.
  23. QUOTE (miracleon35th @ Aug 5, 2016 -> 04:17 AM) What we like about Anderson coming up to the plate is that he poses danger to the opposing pitcher, and that pressure can play dividends beyond his at bat. He has home run power and if he hits one in the gap, it is fun to watch him fly. This is an exciting ballplayer to watch, just like Eaton is. I like watching how fast he gets from first to third on a triple. True stuff. Post more please.
  24. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Aug 5, 2016 -> 04:37 AM) Well he helped by saying bat s*** insane things. He was great on Hannity tonight. A brilliant surgeon is not an incompetent boob/clown and that's how he was portrayed.
  25. QUOTE (Tex @ Aug 4, 2016 -> 11:21 PM) We are going to have four more years of a President that many people in America can not stand. Four more years of bitter partisan division. I'm not going to touch morals and ethics. Very very true, Tex. For four years, the Republicans will block her at every turn and in fact try to find ways to get impeachment proceedings going against her. I thought everybody would get behind Bernie but just cause he used the term "Democratic Socialist" the media buried him and he had no chance. Bernie was likeable at least. But the DNC plotted to weaken him and media wouldn't acknowledge he had unstoppable momentum at one point. Cruz wasn't likeable. Bush wasn't. Fiorina wasn't. I think Ben Carson was somewhat likeable but the media deemed him a nut and that was that for him.
