  1. What is Obama doing giving 400 million bucks to Iran? WTF? Yet no scandal? Impeachment hearings over this one? http://www.cnn.com/2016/08/03/politics/us-...0-million-cash/ Also ... I see on TV 63 percent of Americans think Hillary is dishonest. And yet she's a runaway winner. What a country. What great candidates. s***, maybe the election is rigged. I see Trump had 5,000 supporters turned away by fire marshals at a rally. What is going on? He's trailing by 10 points in the polls and yet everywhere he goes he sells out huge arenas? Our country is in trouble, folks. There could be riots if Hillary wins. These Trump supporters are pretty vocal and they might freak if there is any sign of this being rigged.
  2. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 4, 2016 -> 03:18 AM) Team Clinton just pulls most of their stunts behind closed doors and then denies them all. It makes it easy for the surrogates to defend, and do the dirty work. Excellent post/take. You are correct, sir.
  3. QUOTE (soxforlife05 @ Aug 4, 2016 -> 05:02 AM) If that happens I'm done with this team until they get new ownership. I might be done with them too. If Robin is back, it's inexcusable. Are we really winless against Central teams Det, KC and Cleveland on the road this year? My gawd.
  4. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Aug 3, 2016 -> 07:45 PM) This is definitely one of those "horror face" moments: Voices From Donald Trump’s Rallies, Uncensored Garbage Candidate for Garbage People is too kind, really. How can you call millions of Americans "garbage?" I don't get it. If we Americans think millions of us are "garbage," well God help us all. This world is OVA.
  5. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Aug 4, 2016 -> 12:40 AM) Amazing how foghorn sprung back to life after they found someone to replace him. Great post. You nailed it. Of course he's jealous and feeling the heat. They got a guy who Stoney likes in Jason and you said it, Hawk perks up and says he's REJUVENATED and ready for another season.
  6. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 4, 2016 -> 01:21 AM) What makes this even worse is Anderson is fading hard and with Tilson out, there's not much to care about Has there ever been a player at his age actually learn how to change his approach? If he doesn't draw bases on balls, no way in hell with 500 at bats he can hit better than .225 or so. He just won't be valuable at all without bases on balls being part of his game. More captain obvious stuff the Sox refuse to deal with QUOTE (flavum @ Aug 4, 2016 -> 01:46 AM) Tigers are on fire. Oh well. Every Central Division team is on fire when we play them except maybe Minnie. They OWN us yet Hahn and Robin keep their jobs. QUOTE (SI1020 @ Aug 4, 2016 -> 02:10 AM) Thanks. You gave me a much needed laugh. Another typical dysfunctional Sox loss. Player comes off the DL, crowd goes crazy, boom, game winning home run, crowd goes more crazy for JD. What I want to know is how in the hell did Hahn think this team might contend the second half. Everybody with a brain knew we'd suck mightily after the all star break ... again.
  7. Sale is becoming Q. Never any run support. Our team blows. (Nice hit by Justin, though).
  8. Boy our bats are anemic. Frazier has 30 home runs for gosh sakes and we still can't score runs. Bizarre team in need of new manager badly.
  9. Very interesting they made this public. I think personally it all was Hawk's fault. He brings his moods and poor Stoney doesn't dare say a word. Like just now, Hawk said that pop up to Abreu was a tough error call. It was an obvious error, but how can Stoney argue that? Hawk would bite his head off. Maybe the clearing of the air helps but the fact Stoney didn't disagree there I think means he's still scared of Hawk moods. Cmon Hawk, obvious error on Abreu.
  10. I feel sorry for Tilson. Sounds like a horrible injury. Don't care about Duke either way. Sayonara to him.
  11. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 4, 2016 -> 01:19 AM) Abreu is turning into one of the worst defensive players the Sox have had in a long time He's terrible. He may be a change of scenery is needed guy. May be too lax and comfortable in a White Sox uniform. He wasn't bad last year.
  12. QUOTE (ronkark @ Aug 3, 2016 -> 06:40 AM) Wow just wow. Real hard to find something about this team to get excited about th enext two months. Fulmer not ready for bigs and should be in minors. New kid is done. Anderson is fun but two walks? Oye. Pen's an even bigger mess without Duke. And what rookies are coming up in September to cheer for? Uh... Coats again? Kevan Smith? Ranaudo? I don't see it. They did themselves such a disservice with fan base by not making any moves. How can Steverson not take Anderson under his wing? There's no way a paid hitting coach can condone this style of hitting. There has to be a way to get Anderson to be more selective. A walk truly is as good as a hit and he simply does not have the ability or maturity to draw a walk.
  13. QUOTE (ChiliIrishHammock24 @ Aug 3, 2016 -> 05:20 AM) With tonight's loss, we now have the 11th pick, winning the tie-breaker with KC. 3 GB of the Brewers for the 10th pick. 14 GB of the Braves for the 1st pick. With all the games we have left vs. the Central I'd think we'll get the fifth or sixth pick. If the team totally sucks in September and goes something like 7-24 we might do even better than that. I'd still rather win, though. I don't care about the damn draft. We'll get somebody and nobody knows if that player will ever do squat in the big leagues.
  14. QUOTE (Lip Man 1 @ Aug 3, 2016 -> 05:15 AM) The baseball gods look down on the White Sox and laugh. Or as John Lennon once sang, "Instant Karma's gonna get you...gonna knock you right in the head..." The season can't end soon enough. Mark I still can't believe we were 23-10. Solid fundamental baseball. Winning close games. It looked like the back end of the bullpen was gonna be solid with several guys having roles. Then predictably one meltdown game and the whole season was over. Team couldn't overcome that choke and that was that. You are right, the baseball gods are laughing at this sorry team. I thought 23-10 was a large enough sample size. Man was I wrong. Our team went from crisp, exciting, great at winning close games to total horses***.
  15. QUOTE (Tony @ Aug 3, 2016 -> 03:59 AM) Trump is now against wind energy because it kills birds. He's not going to make it until November. Truthfully he probably doesn't care if he wins. If he loses, he can shrug it off and just say it was rigged. If he wins, quite frankly the job has got to be a major hassle. It doesn't even pay that well, compared to what he's used to. His ego is safe either way cause again, he can just say our system is rigged and it was fixed for Hillary and he goes on more famous than ever. He has the perfect out: the system is rigged.
  16. Watching O'Reilly factor criticize Black Lives Matter for its new demands which are ridiculous. The group is demanding money to make up for slavery. Money should be sent to all African Americans to make up for slavery, the group is stating. Charles Krauthammer BTW looks like Marley's ghost in A Christmas Carol. Look at him closely and tell me I'm wrong. I like him, just saying what he looks like.
  17. QUOTE (Wanne @ Aug 3, 2016 -> 03:30 AM) lol...geezus cripes...seriously?!?!?!? I didn't watch the game...but the dude is hurt the very first game?!? Good god....I'm honestly getting the feeling that Kenny or something made a deal with the Devil back in 05. You can't make this s*** up anymore..... Just like Davidson, hurt the first game. That's bad luck right there.
  18. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Aug 3, 2016 -> 02:25 AM) For the most part this is an embarrassment if a game thread Rockin, it's just tough to be a fan of this team. Losing to Central Division teams (usually via blowouts or weird in-game meltdowns) has grown old the past few seasons. The Sox haven't even tried to see what would happen with a different manager. Somehow you can shrug off losses without getting frustrated. A lot of us feel beaten down because of dysfunctional baseball and a manager who needs to try it with another team. It's not working in Chicago.
  19. QUOTE (daa84 @ Aug 3, 2016 -> 02:19 AM) tim Andersons obp is under .280 Send him down and have somebody with a clue work with him on accepting a base on balls. He's the anti Frank Thomas.
  20. QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Aug 2, 2016 -> 04:44 PM) many have taken a financial stance against the White Sox. I'll tune into games, but I'm not spending my money on tickets, parking, food, and adult beverages to watch this nonsense in person." You'd have to really be a baseball fan, or have money to burn, to buy season tickets to the White Sox the past few seasons. This team is just plain unwatchable again. Even our best prospect, Anderson, is now down to .270 cause he is incapable of drawing a base on balls. I don't think the Sox will move, but at the same time, this team is currently unwatchable. I was thinking the other day, we need a player (everyday player) who is a star to get us back on track. I thought it'd be Abreu, but he appears to be nothing special. We need a player in the realm of Paulie, Baines, Thomas, Ventura. We need a consistent star to pave the way on a daily basis. We do have a franchise in Sale, but I mean an everyday player. Right now Sox are the embarrassment of baseball with them being the patsies of the Central Division yet another season.
  21. Wow. Tilson already got hurt? Geez. I feel for him but am reading this thread about how he looked awful in cf before the injury. Boy our team stinks. We are the patsies of the Central that is for sure. Except for Minnie, teams "appear" to beat us just by taking the field. We can't compete with Cleve, KC and Detroit. After we won it in 05 I was so hopeful we'd dominate the division for years to come. Too bad for KC they had to go as long as they have without playing the Sox. We usually get KC back on track. Did Shields reek tonight or just have a bad inning or two? I have to get my new puter to watch mlb again.
  22. I don't know why u guys root for losses. The draft remains a crapshoot. Rodon not looking so special of late.
  23. Shuck was sent down? Can't they trade him to some big league team for scraps? There's no reason that guy should be taking minor league at bats from any White Sox young un.
  24. QUOTE (GhostofDickeyKerr @ Aug 2, 2016 -> 06:33 AM) No, but optimism will be sky high in April. Of that I'm certain. I hope the Sox have the same April record next year as this year. It won't mean anything necessarily but that type of start really is helpful. Remember all those posts saying the Sox pretty much had a playoff berth wrapped up in April? Posts like, "We are 23-10 ... if we just go x-x the rest of the season that's 86 wins which should be enough, etc, blah blah." Means nothing. It's a marathon.
  25. QUOTE (longshot7 @ Aug 2, 2016 -> 03:20 AM) I will be watching. Call me a glutton, but I love baseball too much. No matter how they do, I can't stop. Sure you got to love baseball. The alternative? You like the Chicago winters? The KC winters? The wind and the freezing cold? The ice storms? This is way better than fricking winter. (I do realize last winter was mild but still ...).
