Robin Williams' daughter leaves social media because of mean comments from people. People can be such assholes when they are anonymous. The Williams suicide is so sad. I don't know enough about depression but it must be so bad. One side of me says, here's a man who has 3 kids who do love him, all the kids are still young adults, and he really, truly should be looking forward to sharing their lives as they get married and have kids, etc. It makes me think he's selfish (sort of) for killing himself. But then I think of depression and how bad it must be and how it's not his fault for wanting out of this world. The second thing is, as a human, I wonder what possessed him to walk into a room and hang himself with a belt. If he was completely sober it makes me think this was a spur of the moment decision. It must have taken him a while to die if he used a belt as a noose. He had time to reconsider and call his daughter or do something, anything. His world is full of people who didn't want him dead. My conclusion is depression must be so insidiously bad that nothing logical occurs in one's head. They say there's no suicide note. He didn't want to explain anything to anybody, say goodbye to anybody, just leave the world apparently ASAP because of the pain of depression. Extremely sad. I LOVE his standup on HBO. I feel like he's a genius. Just read Carrie Fisher's take on Robin Williams having nobody. Isn't it a dad's responsibility to have his kids in his life? Garcia is a huge piece to help determine whether this team can ever get back on its feet (over .500). If he's a great hitter, he'll be a nice 1-2 punch with Abreu. If he is another Viciedo, that's not good. Here's hoping he's a star.

Bruce Chen desperately needs to face the White Sox again to maybe once again save his career. He's been absolutely trash since that last shutdown of the Sox. He's so bad and yet if he started tomorrow vs. the Sox we all know the result. Six innings. One or two runs off three hits. That's baseball for you.

If he's so lousy, so bad a hitter, so terrible then Hahn should be fired for keeping him on the roster. Paulie doesn't write the checks. I savor every one of his at bats as much as u despise them.

I wonder what the practical implication of the ruling will be. I notice the judge set a limit of $5,000 per player. So if the school sells the player's jersey with the name on the back, I guess the player will get all the money up to the first $5,000. What if the school at a lousy football program like Kansas, only sells $1,000 worth of its best player's jersey? The player would get the full $1,000? Now what about a basketball player? Let's say the Kelly Oubre jersey sells like hotcakes. KU gives him the first $5,000 then keeps the rest? The school figures to bomb on some of the lesser players' jerseys. What about autographed basketballs? Even the stiffs sign the balls which go for a few hundred dollars. Somebody's going to have to keep track of all the money, to make sure the players who sign get money up to $5,000. Sounds like a lot of paperwork. The schools ought to just stop selling jerseys and balls and let the players sell their own til they've made $5,000. Then at the $5,000 mark, the school could make some jerseys of their own and start selling their own balls once the players hit the cap of $5,000.

Not a flame on Robin. I'm convinced with the extension and his low-key demeanor, he's just what the Sox players and front office want and will be our skipper for many many years to come. No sense worrying about something I can't change. But I was wondering after talking to an Orioles fan who was GUSHING about Buck Showalter. Tell the truth ... with Buck, would we be a playoff team this year? Is Buck that good? Robin is learning on the job and a player's manager obviously. If Buck was our skipper, would the Sox be rolling right now?? Just wondered if he's THAT GOOD and Robin more average to middle of the road? This Oriole fan I know was insistent Buck is the man.
