    Interesting

I remember the article as well, but I can't find it. Will post it if I do though.
  14. Wilson Valdez needs a lot more time in the minors.
  15. If he wasn't so damn lazy, maybe he'd get some dap.
  16. IMO the only two guys on this staff who should continuously go over 100 pitchers are Buehrle and Garcia. Buehrle, because doesn't really throw all that hard and has never missed a start that I can remember. In other words, not at a very big risk to get hurt. Garcia is another horse who can go out and throw 100 pitches time and time again. He's proven that over his career. Contreras is an older guy, who could easily get hurt. He's had a few DL stint in his first two seasons already. El Duque, the same thing. I would say let him go 80-90. And until Garland turns from a mouse to a man, he should be given a very short leash.
  17. He is not really an everyday player because of his lackluster bat. He could get by in Boston because the rest of their lineup was so dominant. Here, he would be expected to contribute more than he can produce. Nice utility player/defensive replacement for late in games, but nothing more.
  18. Three words: Not good enough. What I would really like to know is who voted for more than 20....
  19. IGN Sports: What other additions have been made to gameplay? Brent Nielson: Getting into a few of the finer details, we've added variable umpires this year. You can choose to play with this on or off and it will give you a different strike zone where some days you'll get a little more of the edge of the plate, and other times you won't. We've also added variable base umpires where guys might blow a close call at a base. It won't be perfect every single time. One of the coolest things is the ability to argue calls with your manager. By pressing a button, you actually control the level of intensity of the argument, so if there's a blown call you can run out there and there is a little bit of risk/reward to it. The reward is that you might fire your team up and get an attribute boost, but the risk is if you go too far, if you argue the call with a little too much intensity and your manager gets tossed from the game, you now don't have access to your roster moves. You're at the mercy of the CPU for making the roster moves and decisions. Not that the computer will make bad decisions, but you might like to bring in your closer at a certain point or the CPU could bring a setup man earlier than you like. It's taken out of your hands.
  20. He probably won't finish at all. He is out indefinitely with mononucleosis. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/news/story?id=1951845
