I don’t think this will be a good matchup for Kopech unless he has his A+ Breaking stuff tonight. Need to limit walks, especially to lead off hitters.
-
Yep, I most certainly am interested. Sosa needs to play every day AA and Leury can’t play SS every single game for the next 5-6 weeks.

Never seen a team go from so likable, fun, and promising to just dreadful this quickly. It really is an impressive display of mistakes from ownership and front office since 2020 ended. -
100%.. only way they can suck me back into this season is if they win 4 out 7 or better this week

8/12 Gamethread: Tigers @ Sox, Norris v. Kopech

The saddest part of all this is a lot of talented players are struggling so badly and there is no one available to offer any kind of help.. Mentally or mechanically -

This is on pace to be the most pathetic game of the season -

Does anyone have the Sox stats with bases loaded this season? I know it was 3 for 34 or something early on, but I’d love up to date #s. It’s gotta be one of the worst bases loaded seasons of all time. -
It has to be… I cannot believe he let Sheets hit, I’m literally in shock. Biggest no brainer move lol

8/9 Game 1 GT: Sox at Royals - Lynn vs. TBD (Tue 310CT)

Horrendous season by nearly everyone: Front office embarrassed itself in the offseason. TLR has been a disaster with lineups, playing time allocations, in game strategy, bullpen usage coaching staff (with exception of Katz) has done nothing positive. Runners thrown out at home, no hitting adjustments. training staff?? Lol almost everyone has had at least 1 IL stint. Bad luck, etc whatever it is Players with awful seasons: Pollock, Moncada, Leury, Grandal, Giolito, Lynn, Kelly, Sheets They do not deserve to be rewarded with a playoff appearance and the ability to run it back again using that as an excuse. -
Wait 2 years… in the meantime enjoy his defense and hit him 7-9 in batting order and pray.

Time for Tim to serve his suspension… playing some soft teams / pitchers. It’s cringeworthy to watch him right now -
Reese McGuire (+ Taylor Broadway) to Red Sox for LHRP Jake Diekman

Only 2 innings but this guy looks great.. looks like an Aaron Bummer replica. -
I vote yes , but will take some creativity in offseason by Hahn (or unlikely availability of a higher payroll) and of course the entire coaching staff needs to be replaced. It all looked so good in 2020
-
I’m still surprised even after 100 games just how pathetic this offense is.
-
They should go after Willson Contreras , he’s exactly what they lack
-
Yeah insane to have him DH. Especially when watching him struggle to flip oppo singles. He isn’t even attempting to swing with power.
-
I feel the opposite. KC can hit the ball and our scheduled pitchers have really been struggling. Big game tonight - need Kopech to continue throwing that 95+ fastball
-
Trying to get Ohtani or Soto? Lol kidding… who knows with this crazy organization
-
Yes! Just gotta keep him @ DH so we can enjoy his bat. He can barely run, putting him in the outfield is criminal. He won’t last out there.
-
Exactly where I’m at. The offseason disgusted me so much. That was the time to really go all in for it. I’ve given up on them being this MLB elite team looking to win multiple championships, but I still watch/follow.
-
Until the walk% rises to above average this team cannot win big. What wins championships is brining ultra competitive at bats one after another after another. Swing at strikes, do not swing at balls. every team coming to play the Sox are telling their pitchers they do NOT have to throw strikes. And what’s even worse is this hitting coach is taking guys with this poor plate discipline and ALSO trying to have them focus on oppo singles… like at least swing for the fences if you’re gonna have that bad plate discipline. shocked he is going to make it thru the entire season

Sure, David Peralta will solve everything

Hasn’t had a single at bat as a Right Fielder since 12 ABs in 2018. But he’s probably better than a AAA quality first baseman. I would rather play Pollock in RF, Vaughn in LF , Eloy DH every day
