  1. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 15, 2012 -> 02:30 PM) God, if we could have traded Santos for Middlebrooks or Reddick, we would have been set. Unfortunately, we had Morel and Viciedo/Quentin/Rios/DeAza at those positions. But we're both a bat and starting pitcher short right now... When was that ever discussed? Or is that just randomly thrown out there?
  2. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jun 15, 2012 -> 01:07 PM) New polls suggest he's also sexy. But is he ferociously cute?
  3. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 15, 2012 -> 12:51 PM) Fine. Makes two separate threads. One thread for all things bulls at all times. and another for nba talk. It's bulls*** that felix doesn't post here anymore. I suggested that for the NFL thread since I'm a Chiefs fan and could care less about the Bears but that idea was promptly shot down I understand the talk is going to center around Chicago based teams, but during games especially the "Insert League Here" Catch-All thread basically becomes a game thread
  4. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jun 15, 2012 -> 12:40 PM) Adam Dunn career vs. Kershaw: 7 for 11, 2 2B, 3 HR, 7 RBI .636/.636/1.636 = 2.273 OPS QUOTE (Noonskadoodle @ Jun 15, 2012 -> 12:44 PM) Adam Dunn has the highest BA (.636), most HR (3) & most RBI (7) of any batter vs Clayton Kershaw, whom he faces today. Its quite random of him to dominate such a good lefty lol Except isn't he scheduled to sit for Viciedo tonight?
  5. QUOTE (Noonskadoodle @ Jun 15, 2012 -> 12:12 PM) Doyle was 26 years old 6'4" 260 pounds.....6-3 this year with a 2.83 era in 76 innings pitched he only allowed 53 hits 25 runs while walking 18 & striking out 71 & opponents batting. 199 against him. Why would we cut him so he could go to Japan???? We could have used him down the stretch & long man in the pen. Because he asked us to and he really had no future with this club
  6. QUOTE (pittshoganerkoff @ Jun 15, 2012 -> 09:28 AM) Interesting stat. I figured Dunn would catch up to Hamilton but not so early; Hamilton seemed to slow down dramatically. They could both end up with close to 50 bombs. Dunn is on pace for 57 HR at the moment
  7. QUOTE (kapkomet @ Jun 13, 2012 -> 08:52 PM) I thought so. That would be the only reason in the world to go to both Fort Worth and Wichita is that you're in aerospace. Big places in North America for aerospace is Fort Worth, Queretaro, Mexico, Wichita, and Montreal. Yea, there's other places too, but these are big in those industries. I'm in that industry as well. We should chat. What do you do exactly? And it's weird, Wichita has so many aerospace companies - Cessna, Hawker, Boeing, Spirit, Wesco, ACE, i think Lear Jet is our there too QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jun 14, 2012 -> 12:44 PM) You can also come out to the West coast. Boeing, Northrop, and a lot of DOD work. Southern California for sure. San Diego, El Segundo, Irvine re huge. Raytheon General Atomics are big out there as well. And surprisingly also big in the aerospace world is Salt Lake City with L-3, Northrop, Moog
  8. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jun 14, 2012 -> 03:38 PM) There really isn't a good one in that list IMO, and he wasn't in all of those (at least not as a main character). The only one he was the lead in that was decent was 50 First Dates, and that was him being a normal goof, not some over the top weirdo. Anger Management and Click were alright too, but basically I agree with you. Adam Sandler's schtick at this point has just gotten incredibly old and I usually don't find him all that funny anymore Edit: Agree with Joe, Grown Ups made me laugh. And Grandma's Boy was hilarious but I was referring to movies he was actually in
  9. QUOTE (Jake @ Jun 15, 2012 -> 02:07 AM) Man I remember thinking Salvador Sanchez would be an Alex Rios-type player at one point Pretty sure one scouting site compared him to a young Juan Gonzalez at one point as well
  10. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 14, 2012 -> 04:26 PM) Somewhere, AJ is smiling at this baserunning. http://mlb.sbnation.com/2012/6/14/3085641/...ans-obstruction Of course is comes from a catcher. Obviously that is not the spirit of the rule, or game, but technically it is the right call if you rule by the letter. And can't fault Mesoraco either - heads up play.
  11. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Jun 14, 2012 -> 10:50 AM) Whoever was the genius wishing the Tigers to trade for Quentin... well, they are interested. Jon Morosi ‏@jonmorosi Sources: #Tigers have interest in trading for Carlos Quentin. He has a scorching 1.463 OPS in 12 games with #Padres since returning from DL Just when you thought their defense couldn't get any worse
  12. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 14, 2012 -> 09:04 AM) The Marlins already cost him his consecutive string of interleague victories at 11. Wonder if he wishes he was back in 1st place and home in Chicago? I'm starting to wish we used some of the John Danks extension money towards him and then traded Danks for other pieces. But hindsight is 20/20
  13. QUOTE (pittshoganerkoff @ Jun 14, 2012 -> 09:00 AM) The first post of this thread should be enough to ensure a White Sox victory today. Oh, and I loved the old post predicting De Aza would have a Pierre-like season. At BEST
  14. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jun 13, 2012 -> 06:18 PM) After leaving him to be picked up now in rule 5 and letting him go to Japan, Sox for whatever reason just wanted him gone. Right. Which is why they bought him back from the Twins, because they just wanted nothing to do with the guy
  15. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Jun 13, 2012 -> 02:08 PM) Well, instead of playing two matches every other month for 6-9 months, have the top-ranked team in the group host and get it all over with in 17 days. Well that just makes it completely unfair
  16. Ben Badler ‏@BenBadler Big baseball scandal. Stay tuned. Hmm...???
  17. Couldn't watch it because of the ridiculous tv rights fiasco but everyone has been talking about that play and the ref not playing the advantage. Sucks that we could have had the three points but a draw in Guatemala is not a terrible result.
  18. QUOTE (Tex @ Jun 12, 2012 -> 11:01 PM) The only part of the article that kind of bothered me was he kept mentioning how the lines were rehearsed and like movie script or something. If something like that happens to you, and it festers, and you spend years thinking about it and what you would like to say, i'm sure it get's rehearsed in your head over and over without even trying to think about it
  19. QUOTE (kapkomet @ Jun 12, 2012 -> 09:51 PM) You are in Wichita, and Fort Worth... what industry are you in? I have a guess... but then I might be wrong. When are you coming to Fort Worth again? Next week. Aerospace connectors - military and commercial air Auditing a distributor in Ft Worth and a commercial air distributor in Wichita
  20. Anyone ever been to Wichita? I'll be there for a few days for work next week. Anything to do there?
  21. Mark Gonzales ‏@MDGonzales Keon Barnum, Joey DeMichele and Nick Basto will report to Bristol, Chris Beck and Brandon Brennan to Great Falls.
  22. QUOTE (danman31 @ Jun 11, 2012 -> 01:36 PM) Why? He's a high school pick in the top 50. Judgement clouded by hatred of KW/JR
  23. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jun 11, 2012 -> 01:17 PM) Trout is the #1 player in fantasy over the last month. I love it. Drafted him last year in my dynasty league...quite glad I made that decision
  24. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jun 8, 2012 -> 01:43 PM) LOL, that is hilarious. Since Australia moved to the Asian group, the OFC should not have an automatic bid to that tourney. I'm actually fine with it. It is not that highly regarded in international football. They only have the .5 bid to the WC, which I think is right. This way they do get a guaranteed spot in one international tourney
  25. In other news, New Caledonia defeated New Zealand in the OFC cup semis so in the Confed Cup next year the OFC representative will be either New Caledonia or Tahiti lol
