QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Apr 13, 2011 -> 03:49 PM) When they don't go 10 years without a winning record. They had a winning record in 2003. Just sayin.

2011 NFL Lockout Thread

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 13, 2011 -> 08:29 AM) People were correctly annoyed with the Union suggestion that the players not attend the draft. The owners are now asking draftees to do the exact same thing regarding the NFLPA's events. They're just doing it surreptitiously, through agents, rather than publicly like the union did. I actually have no problem with that at all. The NFLPA started this. Their event is 100% being done to undermine the NFL draft and does nothing but screws over those kids who have long dreamed of walking across the stage in NY and being welcomed to the NFL. -

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 13, 2011 -> 09:44 AM) Stop yourself. Well, with Weaver pitching Friday I'd much rather go into that one not on a loss

QUOTE (scenario @ Apr 12, 2011 -> 04:29 PM) Will be interesting to see whose playing time gets cut into... Viciedo, Gartrell, De Aza, Danks, Milledge... Between the 3 OF spots and DH, they can pretty much just rotate. Someone sits every 5th day. They all should be getting regular at bats and some kind of rotation like that would allow it.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Apr 12, 2011 -> 07:52 PM) Matt's at fault. But I'm a lot more willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. He's been so good for so long that I think we take it for granted. JP? No comment. If he's not going to catch the damn ball he has next to no worth. I dismissed what happened in the Tampa game as a fluke. But again? Unacceptable. Yes, it was completely ridiculous he dropped that ball. No argument. But he's been a pretty good defensive player throughout his career. Giving Thornton the benefit of the doubt and refusing to do so with Juan is kind of hypocritical. I mean I doubt he lost the ability to catch or track a fly ball over the course of the off-season. He also doesn't look as if he's lost any speed. I'm still dismissing it as a fluke unless it happens again.

2011-2012 NCAA Basketball Thread

QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 12, 2011 -> 03:35 PM) Dunn was unbelievably bad last year. Still laugh how he was grouped with Kemba, Nolan Smith and Jimmer on ESPN graphics. He was still LaceDarius Dunn and still got a ton of attention. The problem, like you said, was he was bad. Wasn't hitting shots and whenever he had the ball the offense just was stagnant, waiting around for him to do something. I can already see Baylor being a team I would not want to face in the NCAA tournament next year, because they're gonna have a seed worse than the quality of team they will be. -
QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Apr 12, 2011 -> 03:38 PM) Teahen at 3rd should be horrible. At least he's swinging the bat well at the moment. And if you're gonna try and sneak him into a game at 3B to spell Morel it might as well be a game when your best strikeout pitcher is on the mound.

QUOTE (kevo880 @ Apr 12, 2011 -> 12:14 PM) This is the best AAA team and worst AA team we have seen in some time I'm hoping Mitchell and Martinez do enough to earn a promo in the second half. Combined with Short that would give Birmingham three OF potentially worth keeping an eye on.

QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Apr 12, 2011 -> 11:55 AM) Insert "maybe he didn't want to take a pay cut joke" here. Nice. Glad he is coming back though. I'm probably in the minority but I think Baylor will actually be better off without Dunn. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 12, 2011 -> 12:41 PM) Good, I hope young players keep coming back, it will at least make the talent level grow in college bball. PLayers take large jumps in their first few years in school. Agreed. Especially with the pending lockout. You're gonna have kids coming out too early with nothing to do for a year potentially. Just would be awful and potentially crushing to their future potential. Would also love to see a new rule in the CBA. Two and done or something like the MLB rule would be ideal. Leave after HS if you want but if you go to school you're there for three years. That rule would better all parties involved IMO. Very little downside. -

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Apr 11, 2011 -> 11:18 PM) Shocking to me. Apparently it was to his teammates too. Baylor might be pretty damn good this year. One of the more athletic teams in the country -

4/8/11 - Sox vs. Rays - 7:10 (WCIU)

QUOTE (PeavyTime @ Apr 8, 2011 -> 08:59 AM) -140 on the money line means you bet $140 that the Sox will win and if they do, you win $100 (plus get your 140 back). +150 on the run line (run line gives the money line underdog (TB) a 1.5 run handicap) so in this case you bet $100 that the sox will win by more than 1.5 (so win by 2 or more) and if they win by 2+ then you win $150 (plus get your 100 back) Ah ok thanks. -
QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Apr 7, 2011 -> 05:04 PM) Not to be a downer but that trade is still quite the loss for us. Depends on how we finish this season and the role he plays. If he plays a big role in a special year then it could make any loss from that trade worth it.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Apr 8, 2011 -> 02:02 AM) Going just from memory, we seem to hit Shields pretty well...and Danksy has faired pretty well against the Rays....I'd imagine we'll be pretty big favorites to keep the Rays winless, Dunn or no Dunn. Edit: Looks like we are -140 on the ML and +150 on the run line....might be time to put something down on the run line... Dont mean to hijack this, but how exactly do you read odds like that for a baseball game?
