QUOTE (flavum @ Dec 20, 2009 -> 02:19 PM) I'd be surprised if it was hard core street drugs. I'm going with anorexia with a combination of alcohol and prescription drugs. I wouldn't be surprised if it was cocaine either.

QUOTE (SouthsideDon48 @ Dec 20, 2009 -> 05:02 PM) A lot of times discretely "pat" the outside of my pocket to make sure my wallet is still there. I always have a phobia of losing it. Oh I probably do that ten times a night when I go out. Gotta make sure the phone and wallet and sometimes keys are still in the pockets. I also refuse to drink out of public water fountains and I'm not sure why but it just grosses me out. I think that's more of a phobia though.

QUOTE (lostfan @ Dec 20, 2009 -> 02:01 AM) All the dollar bills in my wallet are arranged with the largest ones in the back, all with the presidents front and up. Whenever I had a cash register all my bills would be in the register like this too. LOL. I used to do the same thing when I worked at a drug store and still do the same thing with my wallet. It legitimately bothers me when my bills in my wallet are not like that.

QUOTE (Brian @ Dec 19, 2009 -> 05:29 PM) Cats/kittens suck This. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Dec 20, 2009 -> 01:49 PM) Does anyone else almost always wake up feeling guilty after a night of drinking? I don't know why, but I always feel like I did something wrong. Not at all.

QUOTE (G&T @ Dec 21, 2009 -> 09:36 AM) Marlins have made a 5 year $13M offer for Chapman. Link Good for them. Money not be quite what Chapman wants or could get elsewhere, but in terms of environment, history with Cuban personnel and reputation with the Cuban community, the Marlins may be able to get away with a smaller offer. And also, if he did sign there and actually lived up to his potential, this is the kind of signing that could energize the Cuban fan base in Miami and be somewhat of a resurgence for the support of the team.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Dec 18, 2009 -> 12:26 PM) It's as if you don't even read the messages I type. Where did I say I hope he dies? I said he got what he deserved for acting like a f***ing idiot and jumping into a moving truck. If someone dies driving drunk, they get what they deserve too for being stupid. Smoking pot... I don't see how you could kill yourself with it, so I don't know where you're going with that one. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Dec 18, 2009 -> 12:30 PM) Sorry for offending anyone in the thread; but I find it funny that folks are mourning him like it's some great loss for society. I love irony.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Dec 16, 2009 -> 10:13 PM) I'll say it... that piece of sh*t gets what was coming to him. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Dec 17, 2009 -> 09:58 AM) He gawn. Wow. One of the douchiest things I've seen come from this site in a long time. I don't care that he's had problems in the past or that he did something stupid (jumping in the back of a pickup) but to say he got was coming to him and to mock it with the "he gawn" after the guy died? Wow. That's low. And actually kinda pathetic. I wouldn't have expected that out of you.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 17, 2009 -> 12:25 PM) American beat DePaul last night? Wow. Yeah that really is embarassing. I don't get it either. DePaul, while still a Big East whipping boy, should be better this year and American, who occasionally has a decent team, is not gonna even contend for the Patriot League this year. -
QUOTE (Brian @ Dec 15, 2009 -> 03:17 PM) I would get so frustrated with watching Vlad bat every game. He really doesn't strike out that much though...
-
QUOTE (daggins @ Dec 15, 2009 -> 03:06 PM) There was a 67 page thread about it. Kong to Angels, etc. If it had just said there were discussions with SD that would be one thing. But particulars were discussed as if an actual 3 way trade was being considered, which of course, no other outlet had heard or discussed. No need to be defensive, just sayin. It did. And it said what some of those discussions entailed.

QUOTE (b-Rye @ Dec 15, 2009 -> 02:50 PM) My guess is Vlad/Thome/Agon/Dunn... Thome sounds most likely for $$$ reasons. Unless you view the term "deal" as trade. Not sure if that's what was meant or not but a couple people here have hinted it's on the trade front.

QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Dec 15, 2009 -> 02:05 PM) The SoxNet twitter says "With the leadoff spot filled, Kenny has turned his attention to the middle of the order and we are told he's close on another deal." any ideas as to who? Someone else mentioned it earlier, but Adam Dunn wouldn't completely surprise me
-
QUOTE (WCSox @ Dec 15, 2009 -> 01:27 PM) This seems a lot more reasonable to me, although I'm still not convinced that Jones will have enough plate appearances to hit 20+ HRs. I dont see that happening either. I would bet between Rios/Teahen/Ramirez they combine for 5-10 more HR's than James predicts though.
-
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 15, 2009 -> 01:15 PM) I can't see them dealing Viciedo yet, with the money they sunk into him. The rest of them, who knows. Yeah i don't see him going anywhere either. Also since several publications are souring on him due to his "down" year at the ripe old age of 20.

QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Dec 15, 2009 -> 10:30 AM) <!--quoteo(post=2057711:date=Dec 14, 2009 -> 09:43 PM:name=DukeNukeEm)-->QUOTE (DukeNukeEm @ Dec 14, 2009 -> 09:43 PM) <!--quotec-->Joe Lieberman, you are the devil. What a douche: *wonders where the outcry over this statement is...*

QUOTE (Mattchoo @ Dec 15, 2009 -> 01:01 PM) Awesome. I'm hoping one of the following: Adrian Gonzalez, Nick Markakis, or Carl Crawford. Is that too big? I highly doubt Baltimore considers trading Markakis.
-
QUOTE (WCSox @ Dec 15, 2009 -> 12:50 PM) Yeah, his .847 OPS last year really sucked. I have no problem bringing him back for $5M or so next year. You have some very overly-optimistic projections there. Teahen has hit 18 before, and Rios has hit 24. I wouldn't put money on them hitting 20 and 25, but in our ballpark I wouldn't rule it out either.

QUOTE (Paint it Black @ Dec 15, 2009 -> 12:28 PM) I'd rather not value a guy based on batting average, let alone ignoring the fact that he played in a far inferior league. EQA of .278 with a SLG of .372. I'm starting to think people never saw him play when he was a member of the Cubs...or you all are in love with grindy, bad players. I watched him in Florida, where he was without a doubt a catalyst for that club. But by all means, use his one year as a Cub as your example. And seriously, the league argument is ridiculous. So he faces much worse pitchers in the NL West? He had it so easy the past few years never having to face Webb, Haren, Lincecum, Cain, Peavy etc...
-
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Dec 15, 2009 -> 12:26 PM) So if we added Albert Pujols would you ask "Do we know Albert will produce the same numbers in the AL?" I get the AL is the better league. But people get ridiculous sometimes. Agreed. The NL vs the AL argument is really only meant to apply to pitchers.
-
QUOTE (Paint it Black @ Dec 15, 2009 -> 12:19 PM) He had 2 good weeks last year. Seriously he is a slappy fast guy who can't take a walk, and this is who is going to lead off? Plus, all the advanced defense metrics say his D isn't that good. Yeah he hit .308 in 380 at bats but he was only good for 2 weeks last year. Come on.
-
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 15, 2009 -> 12:04 PM) As long as Hudson isn't dealt, it wouldn't bother me. I'd rather Nunez not be in the deal too since he could possibly help us this year but I wouldn't lose sleep over it either.
-
QUOTE (JPN366 @ Dec 15, 2009 -> 12:00 PM) "The pitchers on the list are all pitchers who could pitch in the big leagues by 2010, the source said." Okay, then McCulloch and Derek Rodriguez. Possibly Link, Torres, Santeliz or Santos too
