QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Dec 3, 2009 -> 09:01 AM) World Cup Draw is today. USA & Mexico get hosed by getting put into a pod with the Asia teams & New Zealand despite their high rankings, which means they wont have any of them in their group. Hopefully they can get South Africa from the top pod, instead of one of the top seven. It's tomorrow. (Dec 4th) Best case scenario would be to draw South Africa, Algeria/Ghana, Slovenia Worst case would be Brazil, France/Serbia, Ivory Coast/Cameroon -
QUOTE (bucket-of-suck @ Dec 3, 2009 -> 12:46 AM) Light-tower power? Are you high? The guy slugged .468 last season. You're just on a roll aren't you... QUOTE (Kenny Hates Prospects @ Dec 3, 2009 -> 12:54 AM) Light tower power means you have tremendous raw power, and has nothing to do with SLG%. Thank you.

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Dec 2, 2009 -> 11:38 AM) I'm a huge fan of Izzo and the MSU program but... when was the last time MSU won a meaningful pre-conference game? Seems like they always have a craptastic dud of a game against an inferior opponent and also a loss to a quality opponent that they should contend with. Obviously by the end of the season, when it matters, they turn it on. Just strange though that they never seem as ready out of the gate. They've beaten pretty good Texas teams the last 2 years... -
QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Dec 2, 2009 -> 11:23 AM) Why are we at war with them? They never attacked us. Seriously? They harbored and protected al Qaeda and odds are that relationship was not going to end.

FIFA: No ref changes for World Cup Seriously, how hard would it have been to put an extra official behind each goal? It's not as if this is an important tournament or anything. FIFA really sucks at fixing things and doing things the right way. -
QUOTE (bucket-of-suck @ Dec 2, 2009 -> 10:28 AM) In baseball, elbow inflammation is not an injury. It's a symptom of poor mechanics and poor conditioning. No it's not. As Mike said it could be a mechanical issue. I slightly tore something in my shoulder in high school when I played baseball and it had nothing to do with conditioning. I see you did mention mechanics. However, mechanical problems and conditioning problems are two very different issues.

QUOTE (lostfan @ Dec 2, 2009 -> 10:32 AM) I would say Bush's pre-surge speech had about that level of detail. IIRC anyway. I was really pissed at him at the time and wasn't really listening that closely. So you're saying you may have been one of those cadets caught during the speech yawning/falling asleep? haha

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Dec 2, 2009 -> 08:39 AM) Not entirely true. They start with that, and do a hair folicle test later, for certain agencies. Or at least they used to. Also folks, keep something in mind - cutting your hair will have zero effect on results of a hair test, unless you shave it all clean off (which might be a tad bit suspicious). And as soon as it grows in a bit, they can test again. I've never had to worry about it since those days were behind me before I got my job, but I have a friend who works for a large city and he just uses some shampoo. I guess you can get it online.

QUOTE (Rex Kicka** @ Dec 1, 2009 -> 09:40 PM) I think tonight's speech was one of the clearest outlays of foreign policy objectives that we have seen from a President in a lifetime. And he threw in a Comparative Studies 101 lecture on top of it. I agree. Thought it was well planned out and clearly demonstrated reasoning and an overall plan of action. Repeated himself several times but I understand he was trying to make sure certain points came across as they were meant so as to not get misconstrued.

QUOTE (bucket-of-suck @ Dec 2, 2009 -> 10:10 AM) Obvious conditioning issues: He got pulled out/shut down from the AFL after just 4 games. Riiight... Of course there's no way he could have suffered an injury or anything...

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Nov 30, 2009 -> 04:07 PM) Yes, TCU in a bowl doesn't generate the same revenue as an Iowa or PSU. I dunno. TV wise, I'd much prefer to see a TCU team over teams like Iowa/PSU who no offense are pretty bland and boring for non Big 10 fans. -

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Nov 30, 2009 -> 03:00 PM) I guess I havent watched enough of them yet. I saw Duke beat up on a UConn team that I thought was going to be really good and that may have skewed my view. I still think the Big Ten isnt as good as I thought it was going to be. Don't look into it. UConn's best interior player wasn't even eligible yet and they played possibly the poorest game I've seen since Dyson/Thabeet/Edwards etc were freshmen. -

I don't think i've seen UConn play as poorly as they did the last 30 minutes of the game last night since Dyson and company were freshmen. Wow. Pathetic. How they can have that kind of size and athleticism and got dominated on the boards like that is embarassing. They really need Majok. -
Shocking that so many people jumped the gun on this one a couple months ago...

QUOTE (greg775 @ Nov 23, 2009 -> 04:01 PM) I admit, I wrote it partially in green. I was in a stir it up mood after eating a big lunch. I do think Teahen is a great utility guy though. How can you argue that? I didn't say a great regular, but utility guy. And Gordon may not have been great at third, but he was pretty damn good defensively by the end of the season. He was making plays both charging the ball well and fielding some hot smashes. Don't you agree he was pretty damn good?? And I was over the top a bit on Omar, but I wanted to be positive after bashing Rios so much after his first week of ineptitute at the plate with us. So partial green. Beckham definitely improved but I also definitely would not say he was "pretty damn good" at 3B either. Also, yes, Teahen would be a super utility player, but you were advocating putting him in that role at the expense of having Omar Vizquel be our starting SS. Come on. -
QUOTE (SoxAce @ Nov 23, 2009 -> 03:02 PM) Agreed. I think the only award where I can see an argument was the NL Cy Young with Lincecum winning it, but it doesn't "bother me" at all. Well, the "problem" with the NL Cy Young was that there were 3 legitimate cases to be made, so it was gonna be hard for people to agree with that one on. It's a good argument to be made though, unlike if say Jeter had won the AL MVP or something like that.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Nov 23, 2009 -> 02:58 PM) Now we should leave Beckham at third, Omar at ss, Lexi at second and Teahen our do everything reserve. Omar plays for us one year then the following year we get another vet ss. It makes perfect sense. Teahen is not the answer at 3B, but he is a great great utility guy. Cmon Sox, do the right thing. Lexi should be our second baseman for the next 10 years. Gordon is great at third. Umm, green?
