  1. Done. I wanted to show that newspapers are a dying breed.
  2. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Apr 29, 2008 -> 11:19 AM) If it so bothers people that the drinking age is 21, then why don't you make use of a real, actual RIGHT - and get involved in the political process to elect officials who agree with you? Finally, someone had to say it. QFT, solid post.
  3. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 28, 2008 -> 02:21 PM) Dont even get me started on that..... I think it's a stupid debate, but that's just me.
  4. Just to clarify my original post: -It was a home run ball but it was in batting practice. -I actually never "yelled" the term assclown, but I did say it as I turned and walked away. "You got had to make a point of calling out everyone about the bad calls in the Cleveland series, and how they talked about the umpires for enforcing the rules, yet here you are acting JUST like the same people you called out in that thread." No offense here, but I really couldn't understand what you said in this sentence until I read it over a few times. So you view me as a hypocrite. Fine. But I'm not sure everyone else does. I certainly don't think any of what I said goes hand in hand with anything else.
  5. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 25, 2008 -> 01:44 PM) So its OK when you break the rules, but not the underage drinkers. That's a pretty big bowl of hypocrisy you are serving up there... What rules am I breaking? Please show me some proof from the ballpark rules. How does that even compare to underaged drinking? QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Apr 25, 2008 -> 01:51 PM) You got mad at a security guard for giving a ball to a kid? I don't know, the fact that he looked at us first and then gave the kid the ball made us angry. That wasn't what made me angry with this guy---this guy has told people to move with lack of reasoning before. (I'm one of the people who go seek autographs on the third base side before the game and always get out of the way of the folks who have seats there.) QUOTE (Texsox @ Apr 25, 2008 -> 01:59 PM) Are you really comparing calling the manager's name to underage drinking? I'm not even certain their is a rule about it, I imagine it's more etiquette and common sense. QFT. QUOTE (Jim Spencer @ Apr 25, 2008 -> 03:56 PM) Is he the older gray-haired man that works the Bull-pen Sports bar area? If so you'd be happy to know some retard threw a beer in his face last night. Oh yeah, the retard never got to see Crede win the game in the 9th No, this guy works in the White Sox bullpen and I've seen him near the dugout a few times---he also works near the third base line. I wish I had a picture since I'm sure several people would be able to identify him. I've had nothing but positive experiences with all of the other security guards.

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Apr 25, 2008 -> 07:23 PM) Funny that a couple of alcohol-related threads have appeared today (someone's birthday). What is that supposed to mean?
  7. QUOTE (SpringfieldFan @ Apr 25, 2008 -> 12:46 PM) Okay, I have to ask - when security busts underage drinkers for breaking a well known rule, who exactly is the "bad guy" here? Amen! Edit: There is one security guard in the park that I absolutely cannot stand. I'd love to point him out because I'm sure many of you would agree with me on him. He works all over, usually in the bullpen, sometimes along the foul line (left field) and sometimes he is in the dugout. He's an absolute jack ass. When we were grabbing home run balls one day, my friend and I (about 13 years old) had our hands on a ball and it barely slipped off our hands before it fell into the Sox bullpen. He gets the ball and gives it to a kid even though it was pretty much our ball, it hit off of our hands. I actually do believe I dropped it, Kyle picked it up and it bounced into the pen after that. When we asked him what that was all about, he said, "it's all about the kids, go away." I yelled "ass clown" and ran away. But still, there's other cases where we were getting autographs and one day at the Sox/Cubs game, I went to get an autograph from Ozzie---the guy is like, "No, the game is starting," and I ignored him and yelled, "Ozzie, Ozzie!" And Ozzie waved off the security guard, signed my ball and I left, giving the security guard a "f*** you" look. Yes, I can't stand Sox security but not for busting underaged drinking.
  8. God bless you for your efforts. Good luck man.

QUOTE (Reddy @ Apr 22, 2008 -> 09:34 AM) i'd sing as well. and i'd probably rock your sox off. just sayin. Pun intended.
  10. The Beast replied to shipps's topic in SLaM
    I'd probably sing...or burp a haiku.
  11. QUOTE (shipps @ Apr 20, 2008 -> 11:21 AM) And for the next act-Buerhle needs to be sent to AAA/ traded. Was this sarcastic? Neither of these moves would make any sense whatsoever.
  12. QUOTE (shipps @ Apr 20, 2008 -> 09:28 AM) Gibbons has a history of having altercations with his players, doesnt he? Yeah, I think Gibbons is the problem and that he is a piece of s***. He had issues with Shea Hillenbrand too. It's not like Gibbons has room to talk, he's never done anything special in his coaching career.
  13. I hope all of the people involved go away for a long time---that isn't right to be bullying someone and beating someone like that. Try them as they are, but don't lighten the penalty because they are under 18.
  14. QUOTE (MHizzle85 @ Apr 16, 2008 -> 06:42 PM) I actually just did a paper on that. How did that go for you? It's an interesting debate.
  15. QUOTE (Jimbo's Drinker @ Apr 16, 2008 -> 04:20 PM) Im thinking about talking about how NBA Draft should be the same rules as NFL draft(3 years after graduation) The pros and cons of athletes being role models for young kids/adolescents/young adults.
  16. Sox Bears I don't like much college basketball, but I'd have to say the Illini since my school's team sucks and I like Bruce Webber. I don't like the NBA anymore, the Bulls are a disappointment.
  17. QUOTE (daa84 @ Apr 15, 2008 -> 02:11 PM) just say no to owens There's no need to go back to the mediocrity that was known as 2006. Swisher can lead off just fine, we don't need to win with a speedy guy who can't get on base all of the time.
  18. Dana Eveland? Boy, he must be a porn star! Go Sox!
  19. With the way the Sox are playing now with the guys that they have, why bring up Owens or Richar?
  20. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 13, 2008 -> 03:59 PM) Obviously we don't know exactly what was said, but if Ozzie argued balls and strikes, he is supposed to be ejected. Exactly, and so he should shut up.
  21. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Apr 12, 2008 -> 03:40 AM) BECAUSE YOU MADE IT ONE Prove it, wite. No need to use caps. I just think some people, including posters here and especially Ozzie are making a big deal out of nothing. Obviously I'm an umpire and I know for a fact, I may not like some of the people I'm working for, but it doesn't make me have a vendetta against them, and I won't change calls because I know I'm umpiring for someone. When people get out of line, you get thrown out, which is exactly what happened to Ozzie and which is exactly what happened to several coaches I've umpired for.
  22. I really wonder why this whole situation is becoming a dramatic one, it's absolutely ridiculous.
  23. All I have to say is this: that's too damn too bad.
  24. QUOTE (kapkomet @ Apr 11, 2008 -> 08:15 PM) Yes, because umpires are GOD like in your eyes. To say that someone has a personal vendetta against you is absoluely ridiculous. Oh man, you said that they are like god in my eyes with big capital letters, what ever should I do?
