QUOTE(Brian @ Feb 3, 2006 -> 11:29 AM) First McCarthy, than Aniston, than Simpson, and now Locklear! I know I have a chance. Charlie and Edgar split??? (who's obscure???)

QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Feb 3, 2006 -> 09:45 AM) He and D'Arcy always looked like they wanted to die when they were onstage with Corgan. Hmmm, I wonder why? Funny, I get that look everytime I just hear the name Billy Corgan.

I didn't even know I was up for this award until last week. This is pretty nice, thanks gang. Funny though, most of the music I like sucks...but hey... Thanks for voting, I'm touched...but I won't tell you where...

QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Feb 3, 2006 -> 09:07 AM) You stealing my material?!! We now know that somebody only posts for his own glory and doesn't bother to read what anybody else says.

QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Feb 3, 2006 -> 09:05 AM) Lots of my durably favorite Cheap Trick is on Next Position Please - I Don't Love Here Anymore and the like - because I think Mr. Rundgren's production is quite good on that album. I think Todd's best production, hands down, is xtc's Skylarking. Near perfect, that one. "Invaders Of The Heart" is amazing. The drum fills in the end kill me everytime! That tour was my first live show.

In all honesty though, with all the homophobic accusations that the show, and Simon and Seacrest, have been under for the past few years, it is a valid topic of discussion. Especially considering that there were questions about the two of them. But then there should be a better way of asking. But since this is all a gag to begin with, it's a pretty good bit of promotion the show just pulled off.

Oh goody...I can't wait for this... If Billy needs Jimmy for Pumpkins to be complete...then what was that Pumpkins album with out him???

QUOTE(bmags @ Feb 3, 2006 -> 12:34 AM) you're three bands are s***e, yo Which three bands? Are we talking about my three actual bands, that I was in? QUOTE(The Critic @ Feb 3, 2006 -> 04:20 AM) There is no shortage of great Thin Lizzy and Cheap Trick songs, but I went with Boys Are Back and Surrender because they're the most well-known of their songs. If we're talking favorite songs by classic rock artists, then I'd say Thunder and Lightning or Cold Sweat by Lizzy and Auf Wiedersehen or Baby Loves To Rock by Trick. For Cheap Trick, I am partial to "Daddy Should Have Stayed In High School". Something about the grit in that song. I will also take all of the One On One album, which I consider one of the greatest albums ever recorded.

QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Feb 2, 2006 -> 09:53 PM) Some people consider that the start of metal And many consider it to being "Born To Be Wild", if for no other reason than the phrase "heavy metal" appearing in the song. I stand by it though that it is not a good song. But this is just my opinion, and no more valid than somebody claiming one of my favorite bands to being crap, as many do.
-
Hey, nothing against Phil, that song just sucks. Almost as overrated as the complete s*** song known as "Smoke On The Water".
-
I'm still waiting for somebody to hit Snopes on that picture.
-
QUOTE(The Critic @ Feb 2, 2006 -> 05:06 PM) SEE??? I knew you had good taste!!! I agree with Cheap Trick, but I wish those boys would leave the f***ing town. Crap song.
-
They do have chocolate milk there though, and I hear it's rather tasty.

QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Feb 1, 2006 -> 10:14 PM) Yes, Don Martin is an institution. But he's no Jack Davis. Martin and Berke Breathed were friggin' Gods to me. I used to want to be a "stripper" (as Opus called it), and those were the guys I copied.
-
You mean people actually nominated themselves??? That should be grounds for NOT being nominated. Make a mockery of the whole awards institution why don't you!
-
A most important day to remember! God bless Don Martin.

QUOTE(sox4lifeinPA @ Feb 1, 2006 -> 08:23 PM) dammit....and just when I need to send a message to my friend in Deadwood. now what will I do?!?!?!

I'll agree that running is dumb, but I am thinking there will be a lawsuit. It seemed a little extreme to me.

Brett Favre leaning toward retirement

QUOTE(Texsox @ Jan 31, 2006 -> 05:13 PM) Shouldn't the "biggest player in the game" including a Super Bowl victory, know what is expected and accepted from a player during this time? Maybe, even more than fans on a message board? I haven't heard any players complaining. O.K., I'll go with ya there. But this person on a message board is hardly a fan of anything NFL/football related. -
Well, almost. I agree that it is RnR perfection, but I will have to go with: Ohh La La - Faces 20th Century Boy - T-Rex (I would choose other T-Rex songs, but I think we are looking for songs that are "familiar") When you're dealing with Faces though, there is no such thing as a "bad choice". As long as you stick with a certain time period for T-Rex, there is also no such thing as a "bad choice".

Brett Favre leaning toward retirement
Kid Gleason replied to SSH2005's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
QUOTE(Texsox @ Jan 30, 2006 -> 08:58 AM) The entire sports world must stop for two weeks out of respect for the Super Bowl. The public can only care about one thing at a time. We want 24/7 Super Bowl coverage. Let's hear about what some obscure lineman eats for breakfast. Damn, NBA playing games. The NBA even orchestrated the Artest trade/no trade/trade to steal the limelight. OMG! WHY ARE WE EVEN TALKING ABOUT THIS? THERE'S A SUPERBOWL IN A FEW DAYS!!! STOP ALL OTHER FORUMS I think most people can pay attention to more than one story. I can't believe there has been any Super Bowl story that you are missing because a HoF QB is contemplating retirement. But shouldn't the "biggest player in the game" show a little more respect for the "biggest event" in his game? -
What do you classify as "classic rock"?

QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jan 31, 2006 -> 02:17 PM) Then he did Club Dread and Dukes of Hazzard, both sucked. Club Dread was just REALLY confused on what it wanted to be. If it had chosen a direction, it could have been good. But as is, it's not much of anything.

QUOTE(bmags @ Jan 31, 2006 -> 02:16 PM) Doesn't KG hate VU? Somebody's been taking notes! LOL!!! *hate*...nah. I don't get the love for them. But I don't hate them.
