QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Aug 3, 2005 -> 04:57 PM) How the hell do you know what a sajkaca is??? Never be surprised by Flaxx or Tex knowing something! Tex, I bet I could give your story a run for it's money a bit. :headshake

I had a low one, then I grew to like him. Now that low tolerance is coming back. Elf is still his best role though.

QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Aug 3, 2005 -> 11:27 AM) You're probably the only other person here who appreciated that Mike took his date to a resteraunt named Harryhausen's. That's because you're a geek, of course, while I am merely hip and cool. Funny, when I laughed my butt off at that in the theater at that very scene, my wife asked what was so funny and I explained it, she also called me a "geek". Actually, her word for me is "dork". Did you know one of the voices of the Arctic Puppets in Elf was provided by Ray? They were little stop-motion type critters, so they decided as a tribute to him, they would have him provide a voice.

See, humor is so much better when you need to spell out every word, isn't it? I got the joke. Just had to do my typical "anti-popular-Nirvana-era" thing. Ya know though, everytime somebody does one of the those "hello, is this thing on" lines, I always think of Mike Wazowski now.

What music makes you homesick?
QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Aug 3, 2005 -> 10:24 AM) ... In Utero by Nirvana...? Please. Last decent thing out of that band was "Bleach". I don't know...many songs make me nostalgic for "home" when I was a kid. "Feeling Stronger Everyday" - Chicago "Hot Blooded" - Foreigner "Juniors Farm" & "With a Little Luck" - Wings Many more, but those four REALLY make me think of life in my parents house and being a kid. Oh, and even though I am a Rockabilly freak, and the stuff gets played all the time by me, Bill Haley And The Comets still and always will make me think of my Dad. He still likes Bill, but his was the only music Dad and I could listen to together. My Dad actually saw him in concert! How friggin' cool is that???

How'd you find this place?
QUOTE(Texsox @ Aug 3, 2005 -> 09:25 AM) Someone, and I thought it was Southsider, but he denies it, (I don't blame him) sent me the link over at ESPN. He thought I actually knew something about baseball and would add to the conversation. Silly fool. Similar thing for me. But it was, I am pretty sure the name I will get correct, NorthsideSoxFan or something close. I am not so sure he posts too much here now. I was on the MLB board though, and I made a complaint, or he did and I commented on how I would like to see a more "mature" board. Thought I had found it. silly me. I also have never been back to the offical one, except to watch the implosion of Ncor. Anybody ever hear from him again?

Biggest American superband ever...
QUOTE(YASNY @ Aug 2, 2005 -> 11:46 AM) Yep. Cooper and the bottle were very close friends at one point. That led to his "From The Inside" album. That is such a great friggin' album!!! Paid big bucks for that dang thing on import CD.

Another one that pisses me off...
Wasn't Hitler a Christian? I know they have tried to link him to the Occult, but I think that is the Christian's trying to get away from the nasty association.

Another one that pisses me off...
It's true though man. You can't find a single blemish on the record of White Christians ANYWHERE throughout the history of the world!

Biggest American superband ever...
Yeah, I've always heard that if he didn't go the way of music, he could have gone the way of pro-golf. Problem was, I believe he spent too much time with the bottle and as "Alice" to have actually thought about golf in those days. From all I have heard though, he is the one "celebrity golfer" that many of the real golfers take seriously.

QUOTE(winodj @ Aug 2, 2005 -> 08:34 AM) Alice Cooper does the overnight show at one of the radio stations I work for. Checking out the new one now through Amazon. Yeah, full return to his glory days this time out it sounds like!!! Wino, is he actually IN the studio you are at? Have you ever dealt with him? He seems like one of the coolest and nicest (also most down to earth) legends to ever walk the earth.

"The Eyes Of Alice Cooper" is the last one. "Dirty Diamonds" is the new one. To my surprise, it has just been released. Hmm, looks like I have a CD to go buy.

Loaf is US. Album titles to The Byrds stuff? No, I just have the boxset. But that band had a TON of hits. Also influenced everybody, mainly Tom Petty though.

Biggest American superband ever...
QUOTE(YASNY @ Aug 2, 2005 -> 07:56 AM) Another American Band that in their day could rock was the original Alice Cooper band. The last Alice Cooper album was actually VERY good. A nice return to form for him. Word has it that the new one is even more of a return. It's about time he realizes he is a Rock and Roll artist, and NOT a Metal/Industrial guy. Did anybody ever mention The Byrds?

Neil Diamond
Neil rocks, seriously. You'll have a heck of a good time. Just enjoy the songs for what they are, brilliantly written Pop. Not for what other people will try and make them, silly nostalgia.

Neil Diamond
My Mom saw him back in '76, and she thought it was friggin' awesome!
