  1. Faces Eddie Cochran Gene Vincent Anything Brian Setzer The Damned Early Genesis Early Marillion Blind Willie McTell Mississippi Fred McDowell Hanoi Rocks Lords Of The New Church Dag Nasty Sam Cooke Smokey Robinson and The Miracles But these are just off the top of my head. I don't think I could ever say ONE band (or even 10 bands) are TRUELY my favorite band. Much of those up there are just mainly influences. My playing style is such a combo of all of them..except for Marillion and Genesis. Those two are just freak occurences in my musical tastes. But there are too many bands over too many years to place anybody at the top, IMO.
  2. This just got sent to me again, and, welp, it needs to be here.
  3. It's like an educational spin on the Fear Factor food stunts...but with humor. It's called Steve, don't eat it!. Hang on to your lunch... http://www.thesneeze.com/mt-archives/cat_s...dont_eat_it.php
  4. QUOTE(Controlled Chaos @ Jul 20, 2005 -> 08:36 AM) mice at wrigley. People have reported little bites on their ankles at the games. Let it blow up from there How about "Baseball at Wrigley"!!! Oh...wait...it's been done.
  5. I started watching it last season, but fell off on about 4 episodes, and from there...forget about it. Too much stuff to follow. I LOVED the original, and am thrilled that the new version is so damned good, but just don't have the time to dedicate to following a show. I'll probably just buy the DVD's and watch at my leisure.
  6. See, and I thought that you guys were talking about that model guy named Tyson, and was thinking about how now my wife would be starting to buy Porn.

    What a loser

I used to tell the ladies I was Richard Simmons. For some reason that never worked for me.
  8. Seems like a "win/win" situation for all involved.
  9. My wife has been a nurse in the OB unit for about 5 years now. Trust me, the only thing KIND OF unusual about this story is that she was charged with anything. The amount of people coming into her hospital hooked on cocaine, heroin, any other drug including alcohol, is staggering. All they can do is call child services and hope something happens. Most times though, the parent is sent home with the kid.
  10. QUOTE(Y2HH @ Jul 15, 2005 -> 07:46 AM) I definatly agree it was spent wisely...but that credit goes to KW and Ozzie...which I have given them. But hiring talent to put on the field ISN'T Jerry's job, right? For the record, before Spring Training, I thought this team would be this good. Then ST started, then I went and saw them at Miller Stadium on April 1st, and I was convinced we were in trouble. I am now convinced that Ozzie "dumbed down" our ST so as to not show the competition just what he had exactly.
  11. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jul 14, 2005 -> 05:37 PM) I've just recently gotten into Flogging Molly. At first I thought it was weird, but now it just rocks. Little known fact by many people: Dave King, the vocalist from Flogging Molly, is the former lead vocalist from 80's Metal/Blues RnR band Fastway that was formed by "Fast" Eddie Clark and Pete Way. Fastway's first two albums Fastway and All Fired Up are both amazing albums. Check out "Tell Me" and "Easy Living" and be amazed at what an amazing voice King once used! For the record though, I also do enjoy Flogging a whole bunch, but I also am a huge fan of Celtic Folk. EDIT: Oh, also have to mention that the drummer was Jerry Shirley from Humble Pie. So when people say that Fastway was a Zepplin rip-off, they are wrong, as Pie was doing the same thing as LZ was at the same time. And if anything, LZ ripped off Pie mainman Steve Marriot. Heck, Page even wanted Marriot as the vocalist for Zep. O.K., music lesson over.
  12. QUOTE(The Critic @ Jul 15, 2005 -> 03:15 AM) ...as well as bands like Gene Loves Jezebel... GLJ had sooo much promise, but that promise reached it's peak on their second album Immigrant. The big hit off of the follow up album, Discover, was a brilliant Pop ditty called "Heartache", and for as much as I loved that song I knew, I knew they were done. Immigrant had such original ideas on it, and some incredible dual vocal work by the brothers, that almost anything to follow would be a bit of a letdown or there would be too much chance of sounding like a rehash. But I didn't expect them to go into a typical New Wave Pop thing as so many of those bands went in the late 80's, and then to try and ride out the Glam thing once Michael left was insane. I caught them on tour a few months before Discover was released, and they were amazing to say the least. This was back in '86 and I remember it like it was yesterday.
  13. Welp, the fact that I had hair down to my butt as of last year that was at times eggplant purple, used to wear make-up, still wear more jewelry (bracelets and necklaces) that any female I know of, kind of keep me from getting all "uppity" about my son playing "dress-up" with his big sister. I can't ever imagine having a problem with one of my kids sexuality.
  14. Maybe this is another one of those "final miracles" Pope John Paul pulled off before he passed away??? Is he any closer to Sainthood now?
  15. Ummm, excuse me??? I have two kids, one is a 2 1/2 year old boy, and I would NEVER do that with either of my kids. But I guess I have no fear of my son turning out gay, as I just laugh as he runs around in high heels and his sisters dress-up clothes.
  16. This past weekend I was my yearly...ummm...convention...with my wife and kids. While there I did a bunch of video taping, but I made for dang sure that I got MY kids on camera, and if there were other kids in the area, I made a point of NOT getting them in the camera, unless they were interacting with my kids. Same thing with taking pictures, I just made sure that it was only my kids and friends that got in the lens, and I didn't take any pictures where somebody might feel uncomfortable. I always question a person that has an obvious disregard to a persons privacy, adult and or childs.
  17. Well, just covering my own ass, you will find NOTHING by Madonna (O.K., I do have "Crazy For You", but only to cover it someday...), Wham!, or any other 80's Pop in my collection!!! I agree with you on the talent and s*** music though. I think Prince might be better if he would quit all that high singing s***. "Kiss" might be a killer song, but then he starts singing and it goes to s***. WHAM! was hopeless. But when George Michaels sang with Queen, he was amazing. Boy George? Ugh. Hated him then and now. There is some brilliant stuff in the 90's, I just can't remember any of it. Oooo, "3 Strange Days" by School Of Fish goes down as one of the coolest guitar riffs from the decade. And a wonderful tone on that guitar also!
  18. Nobody ever gives pictures anymore. I want to know what this friggin' nutbag looks like!
  19. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Jul 14, 2005 -> 08:39 AM) The 80's were synthpop and make up. Was anyone really playing anything in the 80's? Madonna, Prince, M. Jackson, Boy George and Wham peaked in the 80's. The 90's were dominated by grunge, guitars and hey even power chords kinda made it back. Grunge alone kicked the crap out of anything 80's. Every decade has a ton of 1 hit wonders, the 80's had no shortage. I know this, the 2000's are in serious trouble. I agree with you 100% about the 2000's!!! You are not actually saying Prince didn't play anything...are you? I'm no Prince fan, but he is easily one of the greatest musicians to come onto the music scene in our generation. Like I said, the 80's had some great music, but it was ruined by the production values. I'm not defending Wham! by any means, but out of that "band" came George Michaels, and whereas I can't stand the friggin' guy's music, he has an amazing voice. Michael Jackson was not "80's", by the way. He had his biggest success then, but he was already established as a MAJOR star by then. Plus, up until the freaky things started showing up, there was no shame in Jackson at all. His stuff with the Jackson 5 is some of the best Soul Music/Pop ever produced, and that is even according to James Brown. Find me a cooler tune than "ABC", and you may only be pointing to "Tears Of A Clown" by Smokey and The Miracles.
  20. QUOTE(Finkelstein @ Jul 14, 2005 -> 07:58 AM) Head Like a Hole - NIN (early 90's) Anything by Korn. (late 90's) "Head Like A Hole" is actually '89.
  21. There were some good tunes in the 90's, but IMO the 90's were easily the worst decade for popular music yet. The 80's run a REAL close second, but what hurt the 80's was the production on most Popular songs. The drums were just evil in the 80's. Whereas in the 90's the material was just lacking. The One Hit Wonders of the 90's, not even 10 years later, are a strain to try and remember. As for song though...sheesh. I'm actually going to go into a debate with this one with somebody now and chime in later. I'm sure you will all be waiting for my reply. Oh, maybe I would have to say "Ruby Soho" by Kalapse...errr...I mean Rancid.
  22. My buddy went to a strip club for the first time a few years ago. Never went back to one. But he told me about his not giving the "dancers" any tips and said that they actually started turning to verbal abuse on him! LOL! I wish I had been there, as there are few thing funnier than a naked person getting all riled up!
  23. My bachelor party was actually just me and my best friends sitting around watching Horror films, and I was in bed by 10:30PM, as I had strepp throat the week of my wedding and didn't go onto anti-biotics until about 10 hours before I got married. I felt like Hell. But that being said, I told my friends that there was no way in hell I wanted a "Party", as I really am not a party kind of person, and never have been. I got married when I was 24, so it wasn't about me getting "too old", I just never got into that stuff. I have also never set foot in a strip club, so I can't comment on those.
  24. Tell Dave to get his drummer playing the way we all know he CAN play again. That man is a monster back there, and is easily one of the best working, but he never shows it in the studio anymore.
  25. QUOTE(Pauly8509CWS @ Jul 13, 2005 -> 10:23 AM) Should I put a Top-40 artist on there instead and change the title. Ummm...but you DO have a Top 40 artist on there. Sorry...just an observation... But yeah, I don't know WHO we should get exactly, but I do think we need another pitcher. IMO, that is where we will get hurt. Our team will struggle on the offensive, we know that, and I don't think getting one guy for hitting will help our offense as a whole. So with that being said, we need to continue with what has worked for us, and that is to get another starter who can hold down the opposing teams. Since one is on the mend, and Count is still shakey, IMO, I think we need another pitcher. I would love to see Clemens, but I would also never believe that could happen. But in Fantasy Island, yeah, he is my choice.
