  1. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Nov 15, 2007 -> 12:33 PM) Bush might not be as big as before, but Rossdale is not hurting. I forgot the names of his side projects, but they're doing ok. Well, all you really need is a couple of hits (or one massive one) and you are set. It's like winning the lottery. I'm sure Gavin is doing O.K., but there is no doubt ( I crack myself up) who is the bread winner in that household.
  2. I knew you would be first.
  3. QUOTE(BearSox @ Nov 14, 2007 -> 10:46 PM) now you know how I feel... What is he from? I love that thing.
  4. QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Nov 15, 2007 -> 12:06 AM) Mario Galaxy is quite possibly the best game I have ever played. Yeah, I'm thinking it is the next Wii purchase.
  5. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Nov 14, 2007 -> 04:33 PM) Weird thought So, at the gym today one of Gwen Stefani's videos was playing. You know, the one that's basically 'My Humps' with different lyrics. Anyway, I remembered that she's married to Gavin Rossdale off Bush. Do you think they talk shop at home? Does she come home all geeked up and go: "Honey, honey listen to what I've been working on in the studio for the past month!" and then she plays that bulls*** for him and he has to sit there and say: "wow, um, yeah, well, it's um, yeah uh, it's exciting stuff Baby" He probably thinks "I wish I still had a career."

  7. QUOTE(BearSox @ Nov 14, 2007 -> 03:49 PM) the 8 hours part scares me though... still worth 60 bucks + tax though That damn squirel is making me thirsty.
  8. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Nov 13, 2007 -> 04:36 PM) As I recall, most of the long-running weathermen in Chicago were/are a bit loony. Nah, the "evil one" easn't loony. The pilot guy...was it Tilman? I can't believe I am forgetting his name. I always considered him "evil" or something due to the fact that he seemed to always be right. Nobody should ever be right that often. I loved him on the news. What the heck was his name???
  9. The original Planet Of The Apes. I've tried reading the book. Blah.
  10. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Nov 13, 2007 -> 02:12 PM) Paris Hilton is so cute. Did we misplace the green font again???
  11. QUOTE(Rex Kicka** @ Nov 13, 2007 -> 09:48 AM) It pains me to say it. But that album is actually pretty good. Normally I have an interest in pretty much anything new. This time though I will be happy to just take your word for it.
  12. QUOTE(BigEdWalsh @ Nov 13, 2007 -> 11:12 AM) Another one I thought of was A Clockwork Orange. Good book, great movie. The book is dang near impossible to read thanks to all the flipping to the back for the definitions of the slang. I gave up on it.
  13. QUOTE(3E8 @ Nov 11, 2007 -> 12:56 AM) She looks completely deranged in that picture.

    Films Thread

QUOTE(knightni @ Nov 12, 2007 -> 01:59 PM) I said it was good, not Oscar-winning. Besides, when was the last time a screenwriter didn't "gut" a book? Agreed. When it comes to books to movies (especially with Horror) I try to never compare the two, or even associate the two. The upcoming Girl Next Door will be an exception to my rule though.
  15. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Nov 12, 2007 -> 10:59 PM) There any way to play my I-Pod on my comp without I-Tunes? I use my s***ty desktop to upload songs on my Ipod, and don't want Itunes on my laptop if I don't have to. I believe "no" is the answer. That was always the most common complaint about iPod.
  16. I love the directions that EARL is going in this season. For as much as I love that show though, IMO the king of TV is easily HOUSE. That show just keeps getting better and better.
  17. QUOTE(Texsox @ Nov 10, 2007 -> 01:41 PM) I just had one of those stopped dead in my tracks musical moments. Where a song all of a sudden just slaps you across the face and says listen, this is important. Funny, I've probably heard the song a thousand times before, but this arrangement maybe a dozen or less. Anyway, had my headphones on, doing some homework, feeling the blues slightly. Plowing away on a tedious assignment. Then I heard Long and Winding Road (from Let it Be Naked) for the first time as a Christian song. (Jim, don't cry) Wow. Oh, I thought maybe you heard the new Britney.
  18. Happy birthday to one of my favorite posters!!! You rock!
  19. OH!!! And on opening day they can run the special "All Rays Get In Free"!!! Show proof that your name is "Ray" and in you go! Then they can have a designated section in the bleachers where they keep their Ray's! Rae Dawn Chong isn't included since she obviously can't spell.
  20. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Nov 9, 2007 -> 12:45 PM) I was at a fucntion last night where Magic Johnson was the surprise speaker. Prety cool. He's looking extremely puffy these days, perhaps as a side effect of 10 years of meds. Still extremely charismatic and his giant smile lights up a room. Is it normal for people with HIV to live as long as he has now? Or is this a case of what money can do for you?

    Pet peeves....

QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Nov 9, 2007 -> 10:19 AM) I know you will hate me for saying this but come on...you live in Harvard Illinois. Kid leashes seem a bit excessive to me especially in rural America. Thought I posted a response to this, but it seems to have vanished. I do travel outside of Harvard. That's all I wanted to say on this. I'm done now.

    Pet peeves....

QUOTE(mreye @ Nov 9, 2007 -> 09:57 AM) People that drive in the rain or fog without headlights. Yes, I know you can see, but the lights are so others can see you. I knew a guy who hated windshield wipers so he NEVER used them. No RainX, no nothing. He did turn his lights on though. Driving with him was scary when it rained. I only did it once.

    Pet peeves....

QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Nov 9, 2007 -> 09:25 AM) See, that's just it. I had two kids. . . just in case. Odds say at least one of them is bound to survive my cr@ppy parenting. But now you are turning it back onto yourself. I never said you were crappy at parenting, but you basically said it about those that do use them. My wife and I used them for OUR PEACE OF MIND. There was no intent to dehumanize our children. Did we use them in the malls? Yes. I know my kids, I know how they can just run off if I look away for a second, no matter how close of an eye I keep on them. I thought it was the best choice FOR US. Not YOU. For MY CHILDREN AND MY FAMILY.

    Pet peeves....

QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Nov 9, 2007 -> 09:09 AM) Yeah, I'm not saying kid leashes should be outlawed, just that they rub me the wrong way. As do mostof the parents that use them. I don't expect everybody to share the opinion. . . that's what a pet peeve is, right? I understand what a "pet peeve" is, it's the bit about the locking up the parents that I enjoyed so much. Regardless of how you phrased it, the intent is understood.
