QUOTE(Leonard Zelig @ Oct 10, 2007 -> 04:45 PM) Seagull's are made in Canada, which is a positive. They have many models and they range from about $300 to near $1500, so, IMO, it would be wrong to make a blanket statement about the company. It would depend on what you are looking for and how much you want to spend. O.K., I tried one of the low-end models. It was very "soft" sounding, like I said. It vs. my $150 Alvarez (which is about 20 years old and has never seen the inside of a case), I take the Alvarez. I like the old "cheap beat-up Delta Blues" sound out of my acoustic. I hate the sound of Ovations. But that being said, it was a cousin-in-law who was looking to buy a guitar that I was with when I tried it out. he tried out about 4 other guitars, and we both decided the Seagull was the best.

They're O.K., but you get what you pay for pretty much. Plus, for my taste, they are a little "soft" sounding. As for pedals, don't use 'em, aside from my RAT pedal. I go from the guitar, through the RAT, and into my Marshall plexi.

QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Oct 9, 2007 -> 11:39 PM) You are lucky, otherwise I would have creeped on your house too. What is Google even thinking with this anyways? Do they not realize what a terrific advantage they are giving to creepers and stalkers all over the world? There is that ugly side, but it will also do wonders for people looking for landmarks and such, or just to be able to see where exactly they are going. I keep finding myself having to drive to clubs I have never been to before, and driving city streets looking for building fronts, signs, addresses sucks. If I had a snapshot of what exactly I was looking for, that would help immensly.

QUOTE(Steff @ Oct 9, 2007 -> 12:47 PM) So with that logic I should be mad as hell and post as such towards minors (and jason and 29 since they both also posted opposite comments)... is that right? To hell with personal responsibility for ones actions or words? So it's the fault of the poster and not the reader for how one perceives and responds...? That's an interesting avenue to travel. Although I'm glad I don't respond that way. Do you ever wonder why it is that many of your posts do turn into an argument? Seriously? I can't think of any other poster on this site whose posts bring out arguments as much as yours do. Look at your response to what I posted, can you honestly tell me that it doesn't smack of superiority? Your posts are continually slaps in the face, and yet you seem to not see that, or you just don't care.

I'm listening to the new Ted Nugent release,Love Grenade right now. I'm a little lost on what to think. Boy...these lyrics are REALLY bad...even for Ted. I don't know what I am expecting out of it, but I started laughing out loud when he started saying "Sex shrapnel" over and over. It sounds like Ted wants some of his guitar notoriety back, as there is some fairly nifty playing going on. Nothing mind blowing, but fun riffing and flash, like Nugent always used to be. This stuff could be better with a better voice. He should bring back Derek St. Holmes. "Girl Scout Cookies"...oh boy... He re-works the Amboy Dukes tune "Journey To The Center Of The Mind" and finds his old tone again. Nice to hear it. If you're a Nug fan, I would bet this thing will make you pretty darn happy.

QUOTE(sox4lifeinPA @ Oct 9, 2007 -> 10:21 AM) I fully believe that there are more rednecks in this country than most of us would like to admit... starting with Ohio okey dokey
-
I guess they have the "Hillbilly Games" link there, but from the first paragraph: So, unless the number of Hillbilly's in Ohio has exploded suddenly.
-
QUOTE(sox4lifeinPA @ Oct 9, 2007 -> 09:59 AM) they tout the game as a hillbilly game on the website...so I'm just going by what I see. It's more of a "lets get drunk" game.

I can't believe I am going to say this, but I will take Chip anyday over friggin' Dusty Baker! Good Lord, that guy is terrible! I know everytime they showed the booth in last nights game I saw Tony Gwynn in there, but did he just run in for face time or what? He really doesn't say much.

QUOTE(kapkomet @ Oct 9, 2007 -> 08:30 AM) Yes, that's true. It amazes me, though, when one person says one thing, it's totally accepted, and when another says something, it's always a fight. It's ridiculous, actually. People express opinions here all the time and their personal experiences. There's some people who do make stuff up and there's people who don't. Then, there's people who just try to discredit everything anyone says. I guess it takes all kinds to make the world go around. Problem is that some people tend to rub people the wrong way. Doesn't matter if what they say is true 90% of the time, if they come across as "holier than thou", it really doesn't matter. Even if they admit their mistakes and not being right, if the initial post is always "that way", it will always lead to a fight.

QUOTE(sox4lifeinPA @ Oct 9, 2007 -> 09:19 AM) Cornhole In a fun v. redneck graph, fun just barely wins over redneck. Are you just now finding out about this game? I've had one for about 3 years now. "Redneck" is hardly what it is.

QUOTE(kapkomet @ Oct 8, 2007 -> 10:20 PM) Posters here have never said he drank or was drunk, so let's take that off the table straight away. And furthermore, the poster quoted was offended at what Mr. Shines allegedly was saying in a public place. I wasn't there, I don't know. But this is far from "slander". I'll edit the content for now, but let's be clear about what things are and are not. If anyone has a problem, let one of the admins know. It's a tough one though, as I can easily say I was in a bar and saw (whoever) there and they were doing (whatever). Without one other person to back it up, it's just your word and is tough to present as actual "fact". I saw George Bush and Michael Moore in a bar having drinks, hitting on girls, and singing Irish drinking songs while holding hands. This was in Alaska though...so I doubt anybody else here saw it.

I had no idea what you guys were talking about with this Frank TV stuff. Then I got my satellite feed back and was finally able to see those commercials. All I know is that I think the Jim Belushi fans will finally have their late-night TV show. Same crowd who love Belushi will find that guy.
-
Duuh...what kind of freak doesn't???
-
Even if they do win it all, I would think he would tell George to shove it up his a** finally. From what I heard about it, he wasn't too happy about George bringing this to the media this time. As for his abilities, I think he played a major role in the early WS wins. I think the more BS from George he has had to deal with, the less desire he has had. I know that if I am in a job where my boss is a loon, and I can't stand the guy, I still do a good job, but not the best I could.

QUOTE(SoxAce @ Oct 7, 2007 -> 11:29 PM) WAAAAY worse. Some people are forgetting my story and the friend who did what G-Reg does and the arrest of the century, or hi8is raping young 16 yr old girls.. or Fop's (damn I forgot that story actually) or how bout NUUUUUUKE. I can go on and on. I forgot about the hi8is one, the others I don't think I ever read.

QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Oct 8, 2007 -> 12:08 AM) So you worry about what other people think in terms of what you should laugh at? It is definitely low brow guy humor. Doesn't mean it is not funny. Those people need to freakin relax! Nah I don't worry about what people think really, but as I sit there talking to people and they suddenly start railing on and on about how only mentally handicapped monkey's on crack could like that show. Then when those 3 people turn into many, many people, I start to wonder how much I really do have in common with those monkeys.
-
QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Oct 7, 2007 -> 08:53 PM) Why shouldn't you laugh? Why would it be wrong? If it's funny, laugh! Because I've seen numerous people insinuating that laughing at that show is a sign of low IQ. Not unlike finding humor in Jim Belushi.

David Susskind is soooo full of sh*t:

QUOTE(TheOcho @ Oct 7, 2007 -> 10:26 AM) I was drunk last night and drove my car into a boulder. Up to that part of the night it was a blast. So...you're O.K. with admitting you were drinking and driving to all of us?

QUOTE(Whitewashed in '05 @ Oct 7, 2007 -> 01:11 PM) My reply...why is such a crappy team loved nationwide? That's what I don't get. I would think by now the Cubs fans would finally just give up, but for some reason they keep going. I seriously am beginning to think that they are truely fans of the losing. I just know that if my favorite band just released crap album after crap album, I would eventually find a new, good band to follow.

I'm so glad I stopped reading this thread a few days ago. Jerks.

...and 3. Seriously, could it have made any more sense than to have Soriano fly out to end it?
